The experiments were carried out on female rats weighing 180 to 200 g. the The triglyceride content of her liver was 11 mg / g. One group of animals served as controls, the rest Animals were treated subcutaneously with 1 ml / mg carbon tetrachloride. This treatment increased the Triglyceride content to 15.4 mg / g. The one to be examined The substance was administered orally in a volume of 0.2 ml / 100 g body weight. During a treatment with a 30 to 100 mg / kg dose of Compound A, the triglyceride level was compared to that of the Control group that had not been treated with carbon tetrachloride, not at all or only in increased very slightly. When treated with Compound C, the triglyceride level was the Liver also increased compared to that of the carbon tetrachloride treated group.

The effect of the compound according to the invention was examined on 8 hyperlipidemic patients.
The LD 50 value of the compound according to the invention is> 5000 mg / kg po in rats).
In summary, on the basis of the comparative studies presented, the compound according to the invention appears to be superior to compounds B and C as a therapeutic agent in the treatment of atherosclerosis, because it not only combines the advantageous properties of the two comparison compounds mentioned, but is in part significantly more effective without the having harmful side effects of compound C (increase in liver triglyceride level) and compound B (increase in serum triglyceride level).
