Vorrichtung zum Fördern eines Strömungsmittels innerhalb eines KörperkanalsDevice for conveying a fluid within a body duct
The invention relates to devices for conveying a fluid within a body duct such as this be used, for example, in long-term artificial ventilation, in particular the invention relates to a further developed intratracheal tube,.
As an alternative to supplying oxygen through tank, tent * or chest ventilation systems require newer treatments for those severely ill such as acute spinal palsy ventilation by supplying auxiliary air below Forced or positive pressure directly to the lungs through one Endotracheal or tracheostomy tube (hereinafter sometimes designated by the collective name "INtracheal tubes"), which are used and then remain inside the air duct * A pulsating supply of compressed air is forced automatically the rhythmic expansion of the lungs and keeps the Chest and lungs properly inflated, especially when the patient is not even able to handle the smallest To bring up muscle activity to maintain breathing »The" intubation "has the further advantage that it leaves the patient free of an enclosing housing or chest harness, so that the patient is better for observation and Auxiliary treatment becomes accessible.

wird, zurückzuweisen und auszublasen, und da der Durchmesser einfacher Intratracheälrohre normalerweise, das Entweichen von Luft ermöglicht, wird die Luft entweder unter extrem hohen Drücken zugeführt oder, wie vorzuziehen ist, unter niedrigen Drücken, indem Vorrichtungen zum Abdichten des Ringraumes zwischen dem Rohr und den Luftröhrenwänden vorgesehen sind» üblicherweise hat eine solche Vorrichtung die Form einer elastischen ringförmigen Stulpe oder Manschette (cuff) mit entweder einem Ballon toroidaler oder sphärischer Form oder einer Baugruppe aus einer oder mehreren flachen Scheiben, die unabhängig aufgeblasen werden können und dadurch an der Schleimhautschicht abdichtend zur Anlage kommen und die Luftröhre abschließen»will, reject and blow out, and there the diameter simple intra-tracheostomy tubes usually, the escape of air allows the air to be supplied either at extremely high pressures or, as is preferable, at low pressures Pressing by providing devices to seal the annulus between the tube and the trachea walls » Usually such a device is in the form of an elastic one ring-shaped cuff or cuff (cuff) with either a balloon of toroidal or spherical shape or an assembly of one or more flat disks that are independent can be inflated and thus come to rest against the mucous membrane layer and seal the trachea to lock"
Kürz gesagt, lassen sich sogenannte Manschettenrohre in zwei Kategorien einteilen, nämlichA detailed overview of the currently used, with a cuff or cuff-provided intratracheal tubes . have Dr. Carrol and Dr. Hedden in the September 1969 issue from "Journal of Aesthesiology" (Volume 31 »No. 3, Anesthesiology, Pages 275 - 28l). In short, so-called Divide sleeve pipes into two categories, namely
a diejenigen, bei welchen die Manschette einen integralen Teil des Rohres bildet unda those in which the cuff is an integral Forms part of the tube and
b diejenigen, bei welchen die Manschette getrennt angeordnet ist. b those in which the cuff is arranged separately.
In either case, the cuff requires a large pressure and volume to inflate when sealed and a higher "tracheal wall pressure" to hold it sealingly against the wall of the trachea. In these conventional "cuffs", the "tracheal wall pressure" is generally considerably greater than the pressure that a capillary blood can withstand, so that a blood pore occurs in the slimy lining layer. "Above all, it is a high pressure required to expand the cuff against the force of its own resilient elasticity (residual pressure), to keep the cuff in the inflated position against the pressure of the trachea, the movement of the patient, etc. (pressure acting in the cuff) and the completion of the pressure against leakage Maintain ventilation air (sealing pressure).

As a result of both intubation of an unnatural device and prolonged maintenance of pressure against the The mucous layer of the trachea often provokes serious secondary diseases and complicated difficulties that can be worse than the respiratory disease itself »The normal procedures with Relaxing the cuff every minute or every hour may not even solve this problem successfully.
The problems mentioned above come to light when you look at yourself keeps in mind the fact that since the intubation is hidden from the doctor's or nurse's observation, it is not an accurate measurement of the pressure can be achieved. It is therefore very likely that, in order to ensure minimal effectiveness, the operator adjusts the pressure to a level which is even greater than the pressure required to securely close the windpipe.
The recent medical literature is overflowing with research and summaries on tracheal narrowing, tracheal softening, ulceration, tracheal wall erosion and formation damage caused by prolonged intubation of intratracheal tubes originate. With the vast majority of such aggravating illnesses and injuries, the reason could be direct up to the use of the cuff and the long-term "tracheal wall pressure" can be determined which is required for their application. Specialist field leads to the conclusion that because the intratracheal supply that ventilation is extremely useful, there is a need for an improved, less injurious intratracheal tube with There is a device for closing the tracheal canal.
It is the purpose of the invention to provide an intratracheal tube with closure means to create which avoids the disadvantages and dangers of the conventional known devices.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide one Device of the type described, which is simply constructed and easier to use.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide an apparatus of the type described To provide a construction which has a tracheal occlusion device and no external means of inflation or Required to be held in the expanded state by external air pressure.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide one Intratracheal tube, the device for closing off the trachea has to be actuated by the internal breathing process either directly or by means of the auxiliary ventilation method used is.
A particular purpose of the invention is to create a device of the type described above that allows long-term intubation with fluid supply devices, without leading to complicating secondary diseases, etc.
Eine AbSchlußvorrichtung ist dabei um die Oberfläche des Rohres herum nahe dessen offenem Ende angeordnet und dichtet den Raum zwischen dem Kanal und dem Rohr gegen Luftströmung ab* Die Abschlußvorrichtung kann einenTo achieve these objects, a device for intubation within body ducts is provided according to the invention which has a elongated tube around & ß that the usual opening on a End and means for connection to a source of fluid such as air at the other end. Der Hüllschirm kann dabei gegen die Innenfläche des Kanals zur Bildung der erforderlichen Abdichtung aufgeweitet werden·Include bag or envelope screen, which is attached in its center to the outer surface of the tube and for receiving air in a Direction towards the open end of the tube is kept largely open. The enveloping screen can thereby against the inner surface of the channel widened to form the required seal
In a general embodiment of the invention, the screen is designed like a bag and along its distal end or its end opposite the open end of the pipe, kept open to receive a sufficient amount of air, which flows back into him, so that he is up to the touch of the Area of the body canal wall expands. The bag or envelope screen is preferably, but not necessarily, integral or in one piece formed with the pipe itself, and is held down at this end by a suitable connection with the pipe.
The envelope screen can be made of inelastic or elastic Material are created, but should be dimensioned so that the Envelope screen provides a firm and secure seal with the wall of the duct forms when expanded without applying undue pressure is necessary to keep him in this state.
In one embodiment of the device according to the invention has the free edge part has a diameter which is at least largely the same as the diameter of the channel, in another embodiment the free edge can have a smaller diameter, so that its contact with the surface of the channel is prevented.
The envelope screen can be spherical, cylindrical or conical in shape to have. Preferably he has a dome part through which In the middle of the pipe. The dome can be reinforced so that it is deformable, but its original shape according to the Relief regained.
The free edge of the envelope screen can also have a plurality of Straps or lines that hold it to the pipe like a parachute, or it can be pulled up to the pipe itself.

According to the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is combined with or applied to a conventional intratracial tube or trachea tube 10, which can consist of rubber, plastic such as nylon or even of metal, for example silver. Since the invention does not require that the tube (or hose) be subjected to high pressures, silver tubing is not necessary and the preferred material should be either rubber or plastic for greater flexibility, better monitoring and lower cost. The distal or lower end of the tube is provided with the usual beveled edge part 12, which makes the insertion of the tube much easier. The end of the tube close to the body or at the rear is provided with a connecting part 14 through which it can be brought into connection with a source of air. The connecting part 14 is of the type 1 that is common to both trachea ventilation systems used today.

The tube 10 can be in different or variable Lengths and with different inside and outside diameters, as is usual in practice. They don't The air source shown may be a tank and / or a pump of any known type provided with valves or is set up even without a valve so that a continuous or pulsating air flow with regulated pressure and volume is promoted.
The trachea 16 is shown schematically in the drawing; the various details such as the slimy lining and the cartilaginous and membrane-like tissue from which they are composed of sütiä * and are omitted for greater clarity. The tube 10 is intended to be inserted into the trachea so that it extends in a direction from the larynx to the branch of the trachea extends towards. Above all, the subject matter of the invention is suitable both as a tracheal inner tube and as a Tracheotomy or tracheal incision tube and can therefore naso or orotracheal, or by incision through the throat directly be inserted into the windpipe below the larynx.
The details of the insertion and also the supply of air, the pulsation, humidification and all the included treatment measures are well known to those skilled in the art. For this reason and because easy to refer to the aforementioned investigations and Documents can be referred to are such details omitted here.
Kuppel 24- endet. Die gewölbte Wand 24 ist mit einer mittIe-According to one embodiment of the invention, the exterior of the Intratracheal tube, as shown in Fig. 2, with a closure device which comprises an envelope screen, indicated generally at 18, disposed proximate the distal end 12 is. The envelope screen is generally formed by a bag of cylindrical shape having a symmetrical wall 20 has, which ends in a free Ümfangsrand 22, which a forms an open end> that faces the lungs, and at theirs rear end, upside down, ends in a curved wall or dome 24-. ren Nabe 26 versehen, die dieAußenflache des Rohres 10 umgibt, integral an dieser befestigt ist, an ihr anhaftet oder mit ihr zusammengeformt ist«ren hub 26 which surrounds the outer surface of the tube 10, is integrally attached to it, adheres to it or is formed together with it «
The envelope screen 18 is preferably made of an inelastic or slightly resilient plastic or synthetic material made that is inactive to body fluids and Chemicals is. A material such as polyurethane, polypropylene, medical rubber or silicone rubber, e.g. that from the company Dow-Corning sold under the name "Silastic" are all suitable. As will be explained later, the envelope screen does not have to be expanded or inflated as it is a rubber balloon in the manner of the gauntlets or cuffs previously used, but is only expanded, to assume a solid shape under the pressure of the surrounding or moving air within the trachea. Hence must the material cannot be elastic. However, on the other hand, this is not a disadvantage or a hindrance to proper conduct Operation of the device.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, the envelope screen wall generally cylindrical and having an outside diameter at least approximately equal to the diameter of the trachea or the tracheal canal. Neither the shape of the wall 20 nor its length is critical, but this shape results an important feature from the fact that the diameter of the free peripheral edge must be sufficiently large so that it, when the bag is filled with air, against the inner slimy Walls of the trachea 16 come to rest. The diameter of the part 22 can be larger than the inner diameter of the trachea, since a certain degree of overlap of the material that forms the wall 20 is permissible, but it should not be less otherwise air between it and the trachea wall could escape to the outside of the trachea, the * axial length the wall 20 should also be large enough to adhere to the inner walls of the trachea for a sufficient distance attacks and rests against these to provide a sealing surface sufficient To create size so that small folds, folds,

Pockets or pores in each of the walls of the bag or in the Wall of the trachea completely covered and sealed.
It is well known that the trachea itself has an oval cross-section, and therefore the envelope screen,., which can be easily manufactured with a cylindrical cross section, also an oval, elliptical one Cross-section or any other suitable shape. The flexibility and stretchability of the material used allows it is that the envelope screen adapts to the shape of the windpipe.
The shape of the wall 20 can be modified somewhat to the shape of a sphere in accordance with that shown in FIG However, the overall outer diameter of the free edge should have at least a size which is approximately the same as the shape Diameter of the duct.
-The envelope screen shown in Fig. 2 can be of quite different types Wise to be designed. For example, according to FIG. 3 the envelope screen is provided with a plurality of conically arranged bands or strips 28 which cause the free edge 22 is held down during insertion of the tube into the body canal. The straps or ropes can be made of the same material how the envelope screen 18 are created and are integrally attached to the free edge 22 and the outer surface of the tube 10. The length of all bands is preferably the same and greater in each case as a straight line drawn between the face of the tube and the inner face of the trachea at the points where the ends of the straps 28 abut. The bands or strips allow the intratracheal tube 10 to be inserted into the Trachea without the help of a cigarette drain or a rubber drain (Penrose drain) or other wrapping means, and yet it is ensured that the free edge 22 is not twisted, tangled or is turned over. However, the extra length of the tape ensures that the free edge is completely against the Wall of the trachea widens. -
Nach der Darstellung in Fig, 4 ist der Schutzteil mit einer Mehrzahl angeformter konzentrischer Ringe 30 versehen, die inAs shown in Fig, 4, the protective part is with a A plurality of integrally formed concentric rings 30 are provided, which are shown in

Die Ringe können aus Gummi, Kunststoff oder Metall bestehen, wenn auch weicher verformbarer Kunststoff bevorzugt wird.embedded in the dome or bottom wall 24, the concentric rings create a durable and resilient one Hull screen with expanding walls 20, which are largely freely connected there are. This construction creates a constantly open cover that only pushes through against the wall of the windpipe a minimum differential of the air pressure is applied. The rings can be made of rubber, plastic, or metal, though soft, malleable plastic is preferred.
The dome 24 can also have a plurality of radially arranged or molded spokes are provided which act in a manner similar to the rings 30 of FIG. 4, although they are in a sub- " Deformable in various ways, or they can be of greater thickness to provide appropriate rigidity.
Er ist ferner an seinem körperfernen bzw, unteren Ende mit dem Rohr durch eine Schürze 36 verbunden, die amIn Fig. 5 still another embodiment of the invention is shown, in which the envelope screen is designed similarly to a bellows, which has a wall 30 'through, a circumferential direction arranged and extending in the longitudinal direction number is formed inside and outside alternating folds 32. As can be seen from Fig. 5, the bellows has a body-hugging or upper collar 34, which is attached to the tube 10 in the aforementioned manner in a sealed manner around its center. He is further away from his body or lower end connected to the pipe by a skirt 36 which is attached to the
Is attached to the free circumferential edge. The apron 36 can by a Extension of the bag itself formed on the inside at the end remote from the body and sealed with respect to the pipe or welded to it be. The openings molded in the bag are created by cutting the bag to form a plurality of holes .38 or air through se, with the uncut parts of the bag to form the ligaments. The holes 38 are so large enough to allow free movement of air in and out of the pouch.
In Fig. 6 ist noch eine andere Ausführungsform gezeigt, wobei das Rohr 10 selbst mit einem oder mehreren kleinen Löchern 40 versehen ist, die radial durch seine Wand hindurchführen und auf dieIn Fig. 6 still another embodiment is shown, wherein the Tube 10 itself is provided with one or more small holes 40 is that pass radially through its wall and on the

Side walls 20 of the envelope screen 18 are directed. Such holes allow small amounts of air to escape against the side wall 20 during inspiration or breathing, where they exert a positive pressure against them and they firmly against the squeeze slimy layer of the trachea. If desired, it can these holes allow the walls 20 to be drawn against the pipe by a negative pressure exerted on the pipe. then the insertion of the pipe does not require a cover like the penrose drain, or it can be conveniently used as a means of controlling bypass air if necessary.
In this embodiment, the envelope screen has 42 a generally bulbous, onion-like conical formation. The tube 10 passes through a collar 44 at the apex of the cone, which is sealed in one piece or attached in the manner of one of the aforementioned forms to the protective part against a Seal passage of air. As can be seen from FIG. 7, the free edge 46 is rolled over to create a reinforced edge portion or hemmed or turned over, the edge part only having limited elasticity »relative to the. The rest of the protective part. That If plastic or rubber material is used, the free edge can be rolled over, trimmed or folded over in a simple manner can be achieved by gluing or heat sealing.
Since the Edge is rolled or folded over, it has limited elasticity, which prevents it from affecting the inner surface or layer of the To touch the body canal or to lie against it, but if air fills the protective part, the conical wall parts expand upwards and outwards, and touches their central peripheral surface the lining layer walls and causes the canal to be closed, The free edge retains its circular cross-section even if when the protective part is expanded, thereby allowing only the conical wall part to expand and with the liner

der Luftröhre gebogene Kontaktflächen zu bilden, wie in Pig» 8 gezeigt. to form curved contact surfaces of the trachea, as shown in Pig »8.
During the envelope screen of this embodiment to a certain extent May have a degree of elasticity, but this is not absolutely necessary. The elasticity would allow the envelope screen to to swell or bulge and the contact engagement to form. However, it can cause the same swelling due to an inelastic Material can be brought about, since the conical envelope screen has a slightly arched or curved perpendicular cross-section Has.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 7, a plurality of bands or lines 48 can be provided in order to keep the free peripheral edge 46 taut. Since the free edge not eleastisch or should even extend s the bands or lines can be shorter than 48 is required with the previously discussed 'execution. Indeed, the lines 48 can be so short that they run radially like spokes in the plane of the free edge. The lines 48 can be attached to the tube by a circular band 50. The lines act to hold the rim 46 and create a bulge or bulge in the conical bag.
In any case, the total circumference or diameter of an envelope shield must the one inelastic hem or free edge has to be substantially equal to the diameter of the body canal, so that this part, when widened, closes the canal, more oversized Pressure on the surface is also to be avoided: as is the need to to expand the envelope beyond elastic limits. An advantage of this embodiment over the previous one resides in the fact that the free edge part does not contact the liner layer of the body duct and is therefore resilient or elastic material can be used without having to fear that its free edge cuts into the wall. at some body ducts may prefer the elastic envelope, because it is easier to remove the irregular slimy lining layers adapts "

The devices according to the invention are in fact very simple, and in this simplicity lies in the benefits and advantages known by the Executions could not be achieved. In use, the device is inserted into the trachea like the intratracheal tube used or introduced in a described known manner. A penrose drain can be used for easier introduction, which surrounds the pipe and is later removed once the pipe is fully inserted. Once the intubation is complete, the connecting element 14 is connected to the air source, and ventilation is started. In the inspiration section of the ventilation cycle, air is pulsed to the patient Rhythm, a pressure and a volume supplied for the Appropriate therapy is needed. The air flows through the tube, enters the distal end 12 in the direction of arrow A (Pig, 2) towards the branch of the trachea. Since air, like all fluids, strives to go two ways, especially one with the least resistance, a certain amount of air turns upwards and flows axially along the outer surface of the tube 10, The upward-flowing air enters the envelope and opens it radially outwards. In the embodiment according to Pig, 2 and 3, the wall 20 rests against the inner surface of the trachea 16, since the free edge 22 has a diameter at least equal to that Inside diameter of the trachea, Lots of air inside the bag, which has a differential, or Δ ρ, which is greater than atmospheric pressure, pushes the envelope screen to be flush and secure- "to the entire circumference of the inner wall of the trachea. Thereupon air fills the bag of the envelope screen completely and presses the axial protrusion of the wall 20 against the slimy surface, thereby preventing air passage or leakage during the inflow portion of the ventilation cycle. During the expiratory portion of the ventilation procedure the patient either voluntarily or forcibly breathes air in a flow indicated by arrow B. The exhalation section the cycle is not constrained or positive inward pressure, this lack of pressure would occur with conventional Intratracheal tubes, apart from independently inflating the cuff, a breakdown of the seal between pipe and air

Here, however, the reverse current reaches the Air B in one main flow up through tube 10 and in one smaller flow on the outer surface of the tube 10 in the envelope screen. The exhaled air acts in a similar way to the incoming air Air to fill the envelope screen and holds the wall 20 firmly pressed against the inner wall of the trachea »
In einem Zeitpunkt kann der LuftstromThe ventilation cycle results in a substantially sinusoidal wave shape Air flow in which, during the inspiratory segment, a flow of air occurs in one direction, during expiration - At the end of the cycle an air flow occurs in an opposite direction. At a time the airflow can
Der Kanal bleibt, abgesehen von der kurzzeitigen Entspannung wirksam abgesperrt."come to a standstill: or assume a zero value (ie between forward and reverse current), and the protective part relaxes from its expanded position, whereby it stands out from the surface of the lining layer capillary blood flow and blood emptying are prevented, if this should ever occur. The envelope screen itself performs a modified pulsation s caused by the air flow, which expands and declines rhythmically. This has a beneficial effect on the lining of the body canal, since in the zero pressure Periodic deflation occurs automatically in response to rhythmic ventilation and avoids the need to relax the cuff and shut down the ventilation process every hour. Regardless of this rhythmic deflation however, the protective part does not collapse so that an effective seal is never lost. Apart from the brief relaxation, the canal remains effectively blocked.
Die Oberflächenspannung zwischen dem Beutel und der Schleimschicht der Luftröhre 16 zusammen mit Größe und Durchmesser des Beutels verhindert ein öffnen oder ein Um-Despite the open end of the protective part, the bag is inverted 18, as shown in FIG. 2, neither under the pressure of air flow A nor of air flow B. The surface tension between the The bag and the mucous layer of the windpipe 16 together with the size and diameter of the bag prevents opening or reversal

The envelope screen as shown in the Fig. 3, 7 and 8 has straps or lines or is attached to the tube at the distal end and cannot be in any operating condition turn around or turn.
The protective part shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 operates largely in the same way as that shown, for example, in FIGS. Here the inextensible edge or rolled hem prevents the envelope from expanding over its entire length. However, the flexible adaptation of the envelope itself and the expansion of the walls result in a sufficient sealing surface. The conical shape and the smaller diameter of the distal end, which is attached to the tube by short straps, results in a tough cohesive structural unit 9 which can be handled with greater ease without fear of damaging the device itself. This also makes it possible that the device can be inserted into the body drains channel with greater ease and without the use of sequences or ü.dgl 0th The conical shape and the expansion of the envelope screen outwards and upwards also seem to result in greater security of the seal and a better seal.
A surprising advantage results in all embodiments of the invention in that the required to expand the envelope screen Low pressure is equal to the ventilation pressure and the pressure within the tube 10. Since, therefore, all pressures are essentially the same the pipe does not have to be made of heavy, thick wall parts or strong ones Pipe parts are produced as they are in the known designs are required to prevent a collapse or clogging of the inner thread, but can actually can also be made from soft, pliable thin strip material. Such a material is more comfortable for the patient and enables easier intubation,
Verschiedene ümfangsgrößen des Hüllschirmes können mit unterschiedlicher Dicke versehen werden, so daß sieThere are still further advantages and embodiments of the Establish invention. Different sizes of the envelope screen can be provided with different thickness so that they

For example, the envelope screen shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 can be used a dome. 44, which is formed from thicker material, with its central equatorial section interrupted by the Lines e demarcated, has smaller thickness, so that the dashed equatorial zone is easily in contact with the surface of the body canal can be expanded. This can easily be achieved if the subject of the invention is known by immersion or Casting process made of plastic or rubber.
The various possible alternatives include the numerous combinations and permutations that result from those shown earlier Statements result. For example, the entire conical protective part 42 of FIGS. 7 and 8 can also be provided with folds in the shape of the in 5, or the folds can only be provided in the equatorial zone. The conical bag can be designed so that it extends away from the body (distally) towards the tube as a unitary piece and the ligaments through Cutting holes are formed in the bag to open the bag to incoming air. The training shown earlier, Guides can have turned over or turned over free edges with either smaller or the same diameter as the body " channel. Each of the embodiments can be reinforced with Domes or side walls can be provided.
The subject matter of the invention was previously described as being built up integrally on the surface of an endotracheal tube. It should be noted, however, that it can easily be made as a separate component by converting the tube 10, as shown in each embodiment, into a socket of limited length. The socket, which can consist of relatively thin rubber plastic or even metal, is then slipped over the end of an existing endotracheal tube made of either the flexible plastic or rubber or of inflexible silver. Of course, the way the device works remains the same. It should also be emphasized that the subject of the invention can be used with a conventional cuff or cuff as an auxiliary or initial termination device, if this appears appropriate β

As can be seen, the device according to the invention works completely differently than the known devices. In the first place, the envelope screen is always open and not inflated independently. Second, the bag does not take the form of an annular or toroidal balloons ring to o In fact, the described bag has the shape that more approximates a parachute, and is inflatable or can only be opened by the introduction of air into the open end thereof. Thirdly, the opening of the bag does not depend on overcoming any residual elasticity of its material. In practice, the elasticity of the bag plays only a minor role or even no role at all in its construction or the creation of the seal itself. Fourth, the envelope screen is not kept in the open position by superimposing an independent volume or pressure of air. The pressure exerted in the bag (cuff) is exactly the same as the pressure exerted by inhalation airflow A and exhalation airflow B, both of which are of course more appropriate to the patient than any pressure exerted during Inflation of the known cuffs is used. Above all, the sealing pressure required to produce the complete seal is also equal to the pressure of flows A, B and no greater than the normal pressure which is exerted against the mucous membrane layers. The pressure required to inflate or expand the envelope is only slightly above atmospheric (ie the pressure difference Δ Ρ between the air in the windpipe and the atmosphere is only small). The actual pressure exerted on the surface of the channel by the device according to the invention should not exceed 30 cm / H 2 O (water column). This pressure is very below the pressure which blocks the capillary blood flow, and therefore anemoid is avoided. The pulsation of the envelope screen also prevents the blood from stopping.
Kurarisierte Hunde wurden mit dem vorgeschlagenen Gerät über Zeiträume hinweg behandelt, die zehn Stunden bei Drücken von 15 - 20 cms/H20 beiChargen-Volumen (tidal volums)Laboratory studies with dogs have been carried out over a long period of time. These tests have shown that the device has been used successfully. Curarized dogs were treated with the proposed device for periods of ten hours at pressures of 15-20 cms / H 2 0 at tidal volumes.

A ventilation bracket for 72 hours produced no noticeable gross or even microscopic damage to the windpipe. Similar tests, but over an extended ventilation period, continue to be carried out with increasing evidence show that a positive ventilator aid can be used for unlimited periods of time without or with damage to the trachea achieved only minor and largely insignificant damage can be.
However, these are only a few embodiments in which the Er- ^ Finding can be applied. Numerous other thereupon give themselves for the skilled person. The significant feature of each embodiment consists in the envelope screen design, which has a free edge defining an open end directed towards the lungs and one cephalad arranged enclosed dome, whereby the air required in the process is used to expand the envelope screen and holds it in a sealed position against the wall of the windpipe.
This proposal was presented using an intratracheal device and explained. It can be seen, however, that the invention can be used to convey gases or liquids (air, water or the like). . can be used after other body ducts. The explanation should therefore be Γ with regard to all possible applications be sought.
The device according to the invention is simple and inexpensive to manufacture. It is safer and less harmful to the body than the known versions. The invention provides a safe and effective closure device without the use of excess pressure and does not require external air pressure to achieve the sealing pressure maintain. In addition, no external air pressure is required to maintain the sealing pressure the device according to the invention fine extended intubation.
