Description
The invention relates to a photometer for measuring the remission of a test strip according to the generic term of the claim.
There are known photometers for measuring the transmittance or remission of a sample in which the light falling from a light source via the sample onto the photoreceiver is measured absolutely and with the measured light intensity of samples of known color depth is compared .. The difficulties with This comparison of absolute measurements is due to the temporal inconsistencies of the light source and photoreceiver. In order to reduce these errors, complex regulation and stabilization is normally required necessary.
For example, a reflection spectrometer is described in German Offenlegungsschrift 1 920404, in which the light source is stabilized by a control circuit controlled by a reference photocell. Apart from the fact that this control is very complex, the errors caused by the light source take the place of the errors the errors caused by the second photo element.
Furthermore, so-called two-beam photometers are known in which the inconsistency of the light source and photo element is compensated by using rotating sector mirrors or tilting mirrors in quickly follow the light from a light source alternately over the sample to be measured and over a defined one controllable comparison sample falls on the photo element. Because the same light source and the same photo element are used for the measurement and the reference, their slow changes compensate for each other. The disadvantage of this method is that the rapidly moving mirror systems are prone to failure must be manufactured with high precision and require considerable additional control effort.
According to the teaching of GB-PS 1040715 one can avoid the disadvantages of the two-beam photometer described above, i.e. mechanically moving parts, if you alternate between sample and comparison sample originating light is generated from the outset with two separate light sources that alternate can be switched on and off. The difference between the generated photocurrents is used! as a measure of absorption the sample. The Schaltryhtmus must of course, as with the known two-beam photometers, with the Evaluation of the photocurrent must be taken into account and therefore requires a suitable coupling with the photo amplifier. Light bulbs with chromium-nickel wires are used to generate a continuous spectrum suggested.
From the DT-GM 1969 794 it is known to avoid this the disadvantages associated with mechanical interrupter devices in photometric Facility*..! two separate light sources in shape of luminescence diodes to be provided, which are switched on alternately with a duty cycle of 1:50.
It is also known from DT-GM 1777071 to use gas discharge lamps, i.e. glow lamps, as light sources to be used with photometers, since these with the commonly used alternating currents with a frequency of 10 to 100 Hz can be switched on and off without delay.
The disturbing change in sensitivity in single-beam photometers such as those according to DT-OS 1920404 of the photometer plays in the aforementioned two-beam photometers according to the GB-PS 1040715 and the DT-GM 1969 794 are of course irrelevant, as they are compensated by the comparative measurement will.
With these photometers, either the difference in the photocurrents is used directly as a measure of the absorption of the sample or it is changed by changing the voltage or current in the measuring and comparison lamp changes the brightness so that the absorption by the sample is compensated and the change in voltage or change in current is used as a measure of the absorption. The disadvantage here is that due to the non-linearity of the relationship between these measured variables and the lamp brightness Cumbersome recalibrations are necessary if in addition to the absorption of the sample of interest variable underground absorptions still have to be taken into account. Specifically, this problem occurs the measurement of the remission of test strips in which the background color is caused by the slightest Changes in manufacturing fluctuates somewhat and especially of course when using a measuring device with test strips for different Reakliontype shows significant differences.
The object of the invention is therefore to create a photometer in which there is no cumbersome recalibration are required if the background absorption of the sample changes.
It has now been shown that this object can be achieved according to the invention by gas discharge lamps operated with impressed electricity are used as light sources The brightness of these lamps is strictly proportional to the flow of current Device and the use of one that is adapted to the reaction type and the respective background of the test strip, Scale calibrated in units of the substance to be measured, the device for a multitude of measuring problems can be used.
The photometer according to the invention, which is inexpensive, easy to use, can be used in practically any place is and is still so light and small that it can be carried in a doctor's bag, for example explained in more detail below with reference to the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawings.

Das Prinzip der elektronischen Umschaltung und Stabilisierung der Lichtquellen sei kurz an der Schaltung der Lichtquelle (1) dargestellt:The principle of electronic switching and stabilization of the light sources is briefly described in the circuit the light source (1):
Da diese Glättung sich nicht über die Diode D3 hinaus auswirkt, wird zwischen D, und D3 ein zerhackter Gleichstrom erhalten, der denThe AC voltage required for operation is applied to the connection sockets marked 0 and 220 V, which excites the glow lamp 1 via the rectifying diodes D 2 and D 3 , the transistor T 1 and the resistors P 1 and R 2 used to regulate the current. The capacitor C 1 connected in parallel ensures that the current rectified by the diodes is smoothed so that the glow lamp receives a practically constant voltage. Since this smoothing does not affect via the diode D 3 addition, is between D and D 3 are a chopped direct current, of the
Transistor T 1 controls so that it lets through the base current when current flows in the control circuit and otherwise blocks. The Zener diode D 1 , together with the resistor R x, ensures that the voltage in the control circuit is constantly equal to the breakdown voltage of D 1 during the current flow and drops to zero during the break, thereby ensuring that the current passing through T 1 is also achieved receives a box-shaped profile. The base voltage across the transistor T 1 is dimensioned so that the saturation range is reached. This has the effect that the current flowing through the transistor and the glow lamp is practically independent of voltage fluctuations, which results in a stabilization of the light source which is sufficient for the measurement purpose.
The other light source and the electronics connected upstream of the display unit are switched on in analogous way.
