Abstract
Description
GETRÄNKEBEHÄLTERBEVERAGE CONTAINERS
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Getränkebehälter. The present invention relates to a beverage container.
Methods and devices for filling drinks into corresponding drinks containers are known in the prior art. For example, DE-U-201 01 692 describes a device for producing a drink, with which water impregnated with oxygen under pressure is filled into a drinks bottle. For various reasons, in this device, but also in other devices or methods, the drinks container is not completely filled up to the upper edge of the opening; only the largest part of the drinks container is filled with the drink, while the head area of the drinks container in the area of the container opening remains free as a compensation area. In the case of drinks impregnated with oxygen, this is associated with the disadvantage that part of the impregnated oxygen is released in the head space over time due to different partial pressures, and the oxygen content in the drink therefore decreases. Therefore, in order to achieve a certain oxygen content in the drink, a correspondingly larger amount of oxygen must be introduced into the drink in order to compensate for these losses in the head space. The same applies to any carbon dioxide that may be present in the drink in addition to the oxygen. This release of oxygen and possibly carbon dioxide is particularly disadvantageous for plastic bottles, which are valued by consumers, as there is more headspace than in glass bottles.
Das Zuführen einer Dosis flüssigen Stickstoffs dient dabeiIn the prior art, methods for filling a beverage into a container are known in which the headspace is subjected to pressure by supplying a dose of liquid nitrogen into the headspace (see EP-B-O 481 019, EP-B-O 854 089). Such methods are used in particular to fill beers or fruit juices. The supply of a dose of liquid nitrogen serves

Eine Vorrichtung zur Abgabe eines ununterbrochenen Strahles einer kryogenen Flüssigkeit, besonders von flüssigem Stickstoff ist in der DE-C-34 19 855 offenbart.to displace substantially all of the oxygen from the container before the container is closed or sealed. The presence of oxygen inside the container is undesirable and causes the beverage to oxidize, resulting in a deterioration in taste and a risk of microbial growth, leading for example to esterification of the resulting beverage if it contains alcohol. A device for delivering a continuous jet of a cryogenic liquid, particularly liquid nitrogen, is disclosed in DE-C-34 19 855.
In contrast, the invention is based on the object of specifying a beverage container with which the release of the gas contained in the beverage, in particular oxygen and possibly carbon dioxide, is substantially prevented. This object is achieved with the features of the protection claims.
The invention is based on the basic idea of supplying a dose of liquid oxygen to the compensation area or headspace after the beverage receiving area of the container has been filled with the beverage. The liquid oxygen evaporates after the container opening is sealed or closed; this increases the pressure in the compensation area or headspace of the container, and this excess pressure and the oxygen supersaturation mean that the oxygen dissolved in the beverage does not release but remains in the beverage.
30The beverage container according to the invention has a container wall and an opening arranged in the container wall. The container wall surrounds a beverage receiving area and a compensation area, wherein the beverage receiving area contains a beverage with gas in solution therein. The compensation area is pressurized by vaporized liquid oxygen.
30
Nach dem Verfahren zum Abfüllen eines Getränks mit in Lösung befindlichem Gas darin in einen Behälter mit dem der erfindungsgemäße Getränkebehälter herstellbar ist, wird zunächst der Getränkeaufnahmebereich des Behälters mit dem GetränkAccording to the method for filling a beverage with gas in solution therein into a container with which the beverage container according to the invention can be produced, first the beverage receiving area of the container is filled with the beverage
A dose of liquid oxygen is then added to the compensation area of the container. Finally, the container opening is sealed or closed.
Preferred developments of the beverage container according to the invention are specified in the dependent claims.
The beverage container according to the invention has the advantage that the release of the gas in the beverage is essentially prevented by introducing liquid oxygen immediately after filling the container. This not only makes it possible to provide a higher oxygen content in the beverage, but also to maintain this at least until the best-before date of the beverage.
After the filled beverage container has been relieved and placed on the filler, the defined amount of liquid oxygen is added to it using an oxygen dosing device, and then immediately sealed. The oxygen used is only liquefied immediately before being fed into the beverage container to exclude the risk of explosion. As soon as suitable sensors detect the presence of a beverage container and send a signal to the dosing head for liquid oxygen dosing, gaseous oxygen is passed through a heat exchanger in liquid nitrogen. The oxygen liquefied in the heat exchanger then passes through a connecting line to the dosing head and from there into the beverage container. The opening time, the dosing duration and the size of the outlet nozzle for the liquid oxygen depend on the specific application, i.e. bottle size, head space or type of closure. A timing valve releases the liquid oxygen into the beverage container passing underneath, and the beverage container is sealed and closed in the downstream station. As an alternative to the timed addition of liquid oxygen, this is done continuously and, depending on the number of beverage containers to be filled per unit of time, a switchover from the timed addition to the continuous addition of liquid oxygen is preferably carried out.

The beverage container according to the invention, i.e. with the pressurized compensation area, on the other hand, has a pressure of about 3.5 to 6.0 bar, preferably 4.0 to 4.6 bar. This increase in pressure from a conventional beverage container to a beverage container according to the invention is, of course, dependent on the amount of liquid oxygen added. For 0.5 l of water, an addition of 0.15 g of liquid oxygen results in a pressure of about 4.0 bar, and an addition of 0.25 g of liquid oxygen results in a pressure of about 4.6 bar. The amount of oxygen added is in the range from about 0.1 to about 1.5 ml (1 kg of liquid oxygen corresponds to 0.867 liters or 0.747 m 3 ). Thus, beverage containers according to the invention have a considerably higher internal pressure than conventional beverage containers, and the content of gas in solution in the beverage is also considerably higher in the beverage container according to the invention or in the method according to the invention after filling and closing the beverage container than in a conventional beverage container or in a conventional method (with the same amount of gas, in particular oxygen, originally dissolved in the beverage, ie during filling).
This means that the advantages according to the invention can be achieved with both glass bottles and plastic bottles (monolayer or multilayer bottles), with

Kopfraums zu erzielen.Plastic closures or metal closures, closures with or without additional sealing insert and different shapes of the compensation area or head space.
Die beigefügte Zeichnung veranschaulicht den erfindungsgemäßen Getränkebehälter. The attached drawing illustrates the beverage container according to the invention.
Die Behälterwand 11 umgibtThe beverage container 1 according to the invention has a container wall 11 and an opening 12 arranged in the container wall 11. The container wall 11 surrounds
The beverage receiving area 13 is filled with a beverage 15 with a gas in solution, preferably carbon dioxide and/or oxygen. A small dose of liquid oxygen is added to the compensation area 14 immediately after the beverage receiving area is filled. The container opening 12 is then closed. The container opening is closed in time so that the liquid oxygen present in the compensation area 14 has not yet evaporated. The container opening is preferably closed no later than about one second after the liquid oxygen is added. The liquid oxygen only evaporates when the beverage container is already closed and the oxygen then present in the gaseous phase leads to an increase in the pressure in the beverage container and to oxygen supersaturation in the compensation area 14.
When adding about 0.5 g of liquid oxygen to the headspace of a PET bottle (0.5 l), an increased oxygen content in the water could be determined according to the following table:
