HINTERGRUND DER ERFINDUNGBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Gebiet der Erfindung1. Field of the invention
The present invention relates to coaxial cable connectors and, more particularly, to such a connector which fits coaxial cables of the same specification but to different outside diameters.
2 Beschreibung verwandter Technik2 Description of related art
In the current television market, cable television is the mainstream. Cable television is transmitted via coaxial cable to the subscribers' FS receivers. Coaxial cable is not limited to cable FS applications; It can be used for signal transmission in many other fields. For 2-way or bidirectional RF transmission, a coaxial cable is routed from the outside into a building and then connected via a connector to an FS receiver or FS distribution board. This coaxial cable connector is designed to connect a coaxial cable to a complementary connector on the FS device or the FS splitter.
To meet different quality requirements for the signal transmission, the braided outer conductor of a coaxial cable can be designed by default, or three or four layers. Therefore, the cable outer diameters may differ. Furthermore, the coaxial cable may have an aluminum foil surrounding the insulator in the braided outer conductor to improve the shielding.
The screw-on nut A1 is located on the front and contains an internal thread for screwing onto a complementary mating connector. The plastic housing A2 is connected to the nut A1. A sealing ring A21 is inserted between the plastic housing A2 and the Aufschraubmutte A1. The inner sleeve A3 is inserted in the plastic housing A2 and the metal ring A4 is placed on one end of the plastic housing A2 adjacent to the coaxial cable B.
- 1. The plastic housing A2 is partially free between the Aufschraubmutter A1 and the metal ring A4. In the outdoor application of the cable end connector A, the plastic housing A2 will rapidly age and corrode under the action of sun, rain and wind; Also, rainwater can penetrate between the cable end connector A and the coaxial cable B and degrade the quality and stability of the signal transmission. If a metal sleeve is used instead of the plastic housing A2, the crimping operation becomes difficult during assembly of the cable end connector. Therefore, the cable connector thus constructed was not well received by the market.
- 2. Between the insertion opening A32 of the Al foil at the left end of the inner sleeve A3 and the left opening A41 of the metal sleeve A4 remains a considerable distance about equal to the length B31 (or more) of the bare Al foil of the coaxial cable B, as in
1 seen. Therefore, it is difficult to insert the innerliner B2 and the Al foil B3 of the coaxial cable B into the cable end connector A; The coaxial cable B can be damaged, so that the quality and stability of the signal transmission suffer. To circumvent this problem, the distance between the insertion opening A32 of the Al foil at the left end of the sleeve A3 and the left Opening A41 of the metal ring A4 to about 2/3 of the length of the bare Al foil portion B31 of the coaxial cable B can be shortened. In this case, the inner diameter of the inner end edge A23 of the plastic housing A2 decreases due to the abutment of the clamping part A22 thereof on the slanted clamping surface A42 of the metal ring A4, which interferes with the insertion of the coaxial cable B.
The Aufschraubmutter D1 is connected for the passage of the inner conductor B1 of the coaxial cable B with one end of the inner sleeve D2. The housing D3 surrounds the inner sleeve D2. The inner sleeve D2 has at one end a male nipple portion D21 protruding from one end of the clamping portion D31 of the housing D3. The tube D4 is pushed onto the clamping part D31 of the housing D3, the plastic socket D5 inserted into the tube D4.
Between the outer edge D211 of the plug-in nipple portion D21 of the inner sleeve D2 and an inner end edge D51 of the plastic socket D5 remains a large space for receiving differently thick braided outer conductor of coaxial cables of the same specification. Due to the elastic deformability of the plastic socket D5, the connector fits different thickness cables.
In the aforementioned cable end connector D, the housing D3 is a metal member, and a crimping tool must be used to pinch the clamping portion D31 of the housing D3 onto the tube D4 during assembly of the connector. Since there is a certain squeeze, a considerable squeezing pressure D32 must be applied to the squeezing tool in order to displace the tube D4 via the squeezing loop D32 relative to the clamping section D31. Consequently, the squeezing operation is relatively cumbersome.
Furthermore, a longer length remains between the insertion opening D2 of the Al foil at the left end of the inner sleeve D2 and the left opening D41 of the metal tube D4. This length is larger than that of the bare Al foil portion B31 of the coaxial cable B. Therefore, it is difficult to insert the insulator B2 and the Al foil B3 of the coaxial cable B into the cable end connector D, and the insulator B2 and the Al foil B3 of the coaxial cable will be damaged during insertion. In a 2-way or bidirectional RF signal transmission, the defective Al foil can increase the reflection levels, so that the quality and stability of the signal transmission suffer. To obviate this problem, the distance between the Al foil insertion opening D21 on the left end of the inner sleeve D2 and the left opening D41 of the metal tube D4 must be shortened to about 2/3 the length of the bare Al foil B31 of the coaxial cable B. become. In this case, the inner diameter of the inner end edge D51 of the plastic bush D5 decreases due to the abutment of the clamping part D52 of the plastic bushing D5 on the slanted clamping surface D33 of the housing D3, which hinders the insertion of the coaxial cable B.
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG DER ERFINDUNGSUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention results from the aforementioned circumstances. The main object of the present invention is therefore a coaxial cable connector which can be attached to a coaxial cable whose inner conductor is surrounded in an insulator (dielectric) by an aluminum foil which is surrounded by a braided outer conductor; the arrangement is encased in a plastic protective layer. The plastic protective layer of the coaxial cable is removed at a predetermined length to expose the outer conductor braid, which is then retracted onto the plastic protective layer to expose the insulator and aluminum foil and a predetermined length of blank to mount the coaxial cable connector Release aluminum foil. The coaxial cable connector comprises: a male threaded female screw for screwing onto an external thread of a complementary counterpart; an inserted into one end of the union or screw-on inner sleeve with a male nipple portion with serrated profile which extends around the left, facing away from the screw-on end and having an Al-foil insertion opening in the left end; a housing surrounding the inner sleeve having an axial through hole, a clamping portion surrounding the through hole, and a stopper flange extending therethrough at an end of the clamping portion; a tube pushed onto an end of the housing beyond the clamping portion, which defines a crimping distance with the housing prior to assembly of the coaxial cable in the coaxial cable connector, the tube having a left opening for retracting the coaxial cable connector, a stuffing opening, and a tapered interior wall surface a right side of the stuffing opening; and a plastic sleeve inserted into the tube leaving a wide gap between an inner end edge thereof and an outer end edge of the male nipple portion of the inner sleeve for receiving the outer conductor braid of the coaxial cable, and wherein the plastic sleeve is crimped after applying a right end to the stop flange of the housing against the male nipple portion of the inner sleeve and clamped on the plastic protective layer of the coaxial cable; wherein the plastic bushing has at an left end an inner end edge whose inner diameter matches the stuffing opening of the tube, an inner wall surface gradually tapers from an opening in a right end to the inner end edge of the left end, and a chamfered retaining surface around the tapered inner wall surface corresponding circumference and slanted to the left. The squeeze length is about 2/3 of the predetermined length of the bare Al foil of the coaxial cable to facilitate squeezing. The distance between the Al foil insertion opening of the inner sleeve and the left opening of the tube is about 2/3 of the predetermined length of the bare Al foil of the coaxial cable; the chamfered retaining surface of the plastic bush is pressed into the tapered inner wall surface of the tube to prevent the plastic bushing from leaving the stuffing opening of the tube. The opening in the right end of the plastic socket is larger than the stuffing opening of the tube, so that different thickness braided outer conductor otherwise gleichspezifizierter coaxial cable can be accommodated.
- 1. The crimping distance between the coaxial cable and the coaxial cable connector is about 2/3 of the predetermined length of the bare Al foil of the coaxial cable, which facilitates crimping.
- 2. A short distance - about 2/3 of the predetermined length of the bare Al foil of the coaxial cable - remains between the Al
foil insertion opening 2 at the left end of the inner sleeve and the left opening of the tube, which facilitates the damage-free insertion of the insulator and the Al foil of the coaxial cable. - 3. The plastic bush has a tapered retaining surface which is pressed into the tapered inner wall surface of the tube, so that the plastic bushing can not escape from the stuffing hole of the tube.
- 4. The opening in the right end of the plastic socket is larger than the stuffing hole of the tube and so can accommodate different thickness braided outer conductor of otherwise gleichspezifizierten coaxial cables.
- 5. As a result of the elastic deformability of the opening in the right end of the plastic bushing for pressing onto the plug-nipple portion of the inner sleeve of the Koaxialkabelteil outside the Stecknippelteils the inner sleeve is tight; one achieves such a watertight graduation.
- 6. The inner diameter of the inner end edge of the left end of the plastic socket fits into the stuffing hole of the tube and can thus guide the coaxial cable.
- 7. Furthermore, the inner wall surface of the plastic bushing gradually decreases from the opening in the right end toward the inner end edge of the left end.
