Abstract

The bolt action for a repeater rifle has a lock taken up by the bolt with a cylindrical shoulder (1) which enters the drilling in the chamber to hold the original lock. The cylinder has one or more projections (2) each to grip in a recess and give a positive fit with the chamber. A safety catch (3) prevents opening the chamber when not under tension, and allows the chamber to be opened when under tension. The locking action is operated by the striker spring tension rod (4). The striker spring tension rod is locked when under tension by the cam (5) at the end of the rod, or a lock (6) operated by the cam.
