Hierfür ist das Rapid-Prototyping-Verfahren hervorragend geeignet, mit dem schichtweise aus Pulverschichten durch lokale Verfestigung des Pulvers das Geflecht bzw. die Schutzbekleidung mit den zusammengefügten Schutzgliedern hergestellt wird. Die Schutzglieder müssen nicht mehr gesondert gefertigt, einzeln miteinander verbunden und vor allem nicht durch Verbindungsnähte geschlossen werden. Dadurch läßt sich das Geflecht bzw. die Schutzbekleidung auf äußerst einfache und kostengünstige Weise herstellen.
