Abstract

The reciprocating piston internal combustion engine has at least one cylinder and piston unit (12) with at least one inlet valve (16) and at least one exhaust valve. The inlet valve is installed in the piston face (18) pointing towards the combustion chamber. The cylinder wall is provided with inlets slots (26) through which the inlet valve communicates with a fresh gas feed. The piston is hermetically sealed in relation to the big-end bearing chamber (22).

Claims (3)

Hubkolben-Verbrennungskraftmaschine mit wenigstens einer einen Brennraum (10) ausbildenden Zylinder/Kol­ beneinheit (12, 14), die mit wenigstens einem Einlass­ ventil (16) und mit wenigstens einem Auslassventil ver­ sehen ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Einlassven­ til (16) in der zu dem Brennraum (10) weisenden Kolben­ fläche (18) angeordnet ist.1. reciprocating internal combustion engine with at least one combustion chamber ( 10 ) forming cylinder / piston unit ( 12 , 14 ), which is provided with at least one inlet valve ( 16 ) and with at least one outlet valve, characterized in that the inlet valve ( 16 ) in the combustion chamber ( 10 ) facing piston surface ( 18 ) is arranged. 2.
