Für die Arbeit an einem Computermonitor (Figur 1) ist häufig eine Beleuchtung wünschenswert, die sich auf einen Arbeitsbereich in der unmittelbaren Nähe des Monitors richtet, ohne jedoch auf dem Bildschirm des Monitors eine Blendung hervorzurufen. Dieses Ziel wird erfindungsgemäß durch einen Computermonitor 1 erreicht, welcher mindestens eine am Rand des Bildschirmes angeordnete Leuchte 2 aufweist, die aufgrund ihrer Anordnung nicht direkt auf den Bildschirm strahlt oder strahlen kann. Vorzugsweise ist die Leuchte am unteren Rand des Bildschirms angeordnet und strahlt in einem Winkel von ca. 90° in Bezug auf die Flächennormale des Bildschirms. Eine so angeordnete Leuchte kann vorteilhafterweise eine unter dem Monitor 1 befindliche Arbeitsplatte 9 beziehungsweise eine darauf stehende Tastatur 8 oder einen Vorlagenhalter 7 ausleuchten. Ebenso ist es jedoch auch möglich, die Leuchte an einem Seitenrand des Monitors anzubringen, wenn zum Beispiel seitlich des Monitors ein Vorlagenhalter vorgesehen ist. Selbstverständlich können auch an mehreren Seiten (rechts, links, oben, unten) des Bildschirmes Leuchten angebracht werden. Die Leuchte kann zum Beispiel als Leuchtstoffröhre 2, als Glühlampe, als Halogenstrahler, als mindestens eine (vorzugsweise weiße) Leuchtdiode oder dergleichen ausgebildet sein. Vorzugsweise ist die Leuchte in das Gehäuse des Computermonitors integriert, so dass sie von innen her mit Strom versorgt werden kann.When working on a computer monitor (Figure 1), it is often desirable to have lighting that is directed at a work area in the immediate vicinity of the monitor, but without causing glare on the monitor screen. Gemäß einer anderen Ausgestaltung der Erfindung ist eine Leuchte 2 vorgesehen, welche an das zu einem Computermonitor 1 führende Netzkabel 4 anschließbar bzw. angeschlossen ist. Eine derartige Leuchte kann im Bereich eines Computermonitors eingesetzt werden, wobei die ohnehin vorhandene Stromzufuhr zum Monitor gleichzeitig zur Versorgung der Leuchte mit ausgenutzt wird. Am besten wird der Anschluss an das zum Monitor 1 führende Netzkabel 4 dadurch realisiert, dass die Leuchte einen Zwischenstecker 3 aufweist, welcher an einem Ende als Buchse und am anderen Ende als Stecker ausgebildet ist, so dass er zwischen dem Netzkabel 4 und dem Computermonitor 1 eingefügt werden kann. Von diesem Zwischenstecker 3 geht dabei eine Abzweigungsleitung 6 aus, welche zur Leuchte 2 führt und diese mit Strom versorgt. Eine derartige Leuchte kann bei existierenden Computermonitoren 1 nachgerüstet werden, bei denen das Netzkabel 4 trennbar in einer Aufnahme 5 (Stecker oder Buchse) an der Rückseite des Monitors einzustecken ist. Vorzugsweise ist eine derartige Leuchte 2 dabei zusätzlich für eine Anbringung am Computermonitor 1 eingerichtet.
