Die Erfindung betrifft eine auf einem textlien Stoff, insbesondere auf Kleidungsstücken befestigbare Signalfläche unter Verwendung von Elementen, deren Oberflächen mit einer retroreflektierenden Schicht bedeckt sind.The invention relates to a signal surface that can be attached to a textile material, in particular to items of clothing, using elements whose surfaces are covered with a retroreflective layer.
Kleidungsstücke für bestimmte Zielgruppen wie Polizei, Feuerwehr, Technisches Hilfswerk, Militär, Rettungsmannschaften und dergleichen werden aus Sicherheitsgründen mit reflektierende Signalflächen, zum Teil in Form von Informationszeichen versehen. Diese bestehen aus Folien- oder Gewebezuschnitten aus Polyester und anderem Material, welches mit retroreflektierendem Material beschichtet ist. Zu diesem Zweck wird die sichtbare Oberfläche des Gewebes mit einer spiegelnden Schicht aus aufgedampftem Aluminium versehen. Darüber befindet sich eine lichtdurchlässige Schicht mit eingebetteten Glaskugeln zur Reflexion von Licht oder Streulicht in Richtung der Lichtquelle durch eine doppelte Lichtbrechung. Diese Beschichtung wird als retroreflektierend bezeichnet. Voraussetzung für das bestimmungsgemäße Wirken einer solchen Beschichtung ist das Vorhandensein einer Lichtquelle, deren Strahlen zum Ort ihrer Emission zurückgeworfen werden. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, hier Abhilfe zu schaffen und einleitend genannte retroreflektierende Signalflächen so auszubilden, daß sie auch bei völliger Dunkelheit und fehlendem reflektierbaren Licht erkannt werden können. Die Erfindung löst diese Aufgabe dadurch, daß die retroreflektierenden Elemente auf einem mit phosphoreszierendem (nachleuchtendem) Material beschichteten, flexiblen Grundträger angeordnet sind. Dadurch wird ein flächiges, an Kleidungsstücken befestigbares Signalelement geschaffen, das die darauf befindlichen Informationszeichen aus retroreflektierendem Material auch bei völliger Dunkelheit erkennen läßt. Sobald jedoch Lichtstrahlen den Grundträger erfassen leuchten die darauf befindlichen retroreflektierenden Elemente auf und führen gleichzeitig dem nachleuchtenden, phosphoreszierenden Material Lichtenergie zu, so daß das allmählich nachlassende Nachleuchten des Grundträgers nachhaltig aufgefrischt werden kann. Die Kombination aus einem phosphoreszierendem Grundträger mit retroreflektierenden Elementen ist zur Verwendung bei vielen Einsätzen von Polizei, Feuerwehr und dergleichen geradezu' ideal geeignet, da die Tätigkeiten dieser Berufsgruppen häufig während der Nachtstunden, zum Teil bei völliger Dunkelheit, zum Teil bei wechselndem Licht durch den Einsatz künstlicher Lichtquellen gefordert ist.The invention is based on the object of remedying this situation and of designing the retroreflective signal surfaces mentioned above in such a way that they can be recognized even in total darkness and in the absence of reflective light.
