Stand der Technik: Der Golfschläger setzt sich regelmäßig zusammen aus einem Griff, einem Schaft und dem sog. Kopf des Schlägers. Letztgenannter ist bei den Eisenschlägern regelmäßig aus Eisen, gegebenenfalls in Verbindung mit anderen Edelmetallen wie Titanium, etc. Bei den sog. Hölzern besteht der Golfschlägerkopf aus Holz, gegebenenfalls verstärkt durch Metallteile. Regelmäßig wird der Golfschiägerkopf beim Golfspielen stark verschmutzt. Dies gilt insbesondere für das Golfspiel an nassen Tagen. Für die Reinigung der Golfschlägerkopfoberfläche wird nach dem Spiel erhebliche Mühe aufgewandt. Die Notwendigkeit der Reinigung kann sowohl ästhetische als auch funktioneile Gründe haben. Ziel jeder Reinigung des Golfschlägerkopfes ist die Reinigung insbesondere von organischen Substanzen wie Erde, Gras, Staub und ähnlichem.State of the art: The golf club usually consists of a handle, a shaft and the so-called head of the club. Nach Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Barthlott ist der in der Lotusblume und an anderen Grünpflanzen entdeckte Selbstreinigungseffekt bei strukturierter Oberfläche besonders gut. So konnte Prof. Dr. Barthlott nachweisen, daß sich Pflanzenblätter wie die der Lotusblume selbst reinigen. Ein Effekt, der inzwischen auf Industrieprodukte wie Fliesen, Dachziegel, Fassadenelemente, erfolgreich angewandt werden konnte. Der Lotuseffekt ist also zum Sauberhalten eines Golfschlägerkopfes besonders gut geeignet, nachdem der Schlägerkopf üblicherweise bereits durch Rillen strukturiert ist und keine glatte Oberfläche hat.According to Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Barthlott, the self-cleaning effect discovered in the lotus flower and other green plants is particularly good with structured surfaces.
