The object is achieved by the features of the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments are recited in the dependent claims.
A circuit according to the invention represents a protection against a potential drop, in particular for short-circuit protection, at a first connection. For this purpose, the circuit has a first current path and a second current path between the first connection and a second connection. In an operating mode, the first current path is conductive in one conduction direction. A first voltage is applied to the second connection opposite to the conduction direction of the first current path, so that the first voltage is conducted along the second current path to the first connection. The circuit also has means for interrupting the second current path if a potential drop below a predeterminable level, e.g. due to a short circuit, occurs at the first connection. As a result, a voltage supply to the first connection is interrupted by the first voltage applied to the second connection.
The first current path is preferably a diode path, which for example comprises diodes connected in series, such as PIN diodes.
The first voltage is preferably a direct voltage, e.g. with positive polarity.
The second current path is preferably a direct voltage path, e.g. for supplying a first device connected to the first connection.
In a preferred embodiment, the first current path and/or the second current path are an alternating current path, preferably for high-frequency signals, and serve, for example, to transmit an alternating signal from a first device connected to the first connection to a second device connected to the second connection.
In another preferred embodiment, the interruption means comprises a first and a second switching means. In the first switching means, a control electrode is coupled to the first terminal. In the second switching means, a control electrode is controlled by the first switching means, and a first switching electrode is coupled to the first terminal and a second switching electrode is coupled to the second terminal.
In this embodiment, the first switching means preferably keeps the current path between the first and the second switching electrode of the second switching means conductive in the operating mode, and blocks the current path between the first and the second switching electrode of the second switching means when the zero potential at the first terminal drops below the predeterminable level.
Ebenfalls in dieser Ausführungsform ist die 5 Steuerungselektrode des ersten Schaltmittels vorzugsweiseAlso in this embodiment, the 5 control electrode of the first switching means is preferably
Dabei sind das erste und das zweite Schaltmittel vorzugsweise Transistoren.coupled to the first terminal via a diode, such as a Schottky diode. The interruption means preferably comprises a first coil element, such as a choke, between the first switching means and the first terminal. The interruption means may also comprise a second coil element, such as a choke, between the second switching means and the second terminal. The first and second switching means are preferably transistors.
A circuit arrangement according to a further aspect of the invention has two safety circuits according to the invention, as described above. A first of these safety circuits is arranged between the first connection and the second connection, and a second of these safety circuits is arranged between a third connection and the second connection. This arrangement allows several connections to be protected against undesired potential reduction.
The circuit arrangement preferably also has a control unit for making the first current path of either the first or the second of the safety circuits conductive, so that either a first signal can pass between the first connection and the second connection, or a second signal can pass between the third connection and the second connection. In this way, only one of the connections of this arrangement can be protected against undesired potential reduction.
Entsprechend weist eine erfindungsgemäße Schaltungsanordnung nach einem anderen Aspekt der Erfindung eine Vielzahl von Sicherungsschaltungen, wie oben angeführt, zwischen jeweils einem ersten AnschlussAccordingly, a circuit arrangement according to another aspect of the invention comprises a plurality of fuse circuits, as mentioned above, between each first terminal
In addition, the circuit arrangement also contains a control unit for making the first current path of one of the safety circuits conductive, so that a signal can only pass between the conductive first connection and the second connection.

Figure 2 shows a preferred embodiment of a circuit arrangement 200 according to the invention, e.g. for short-circuit protection.
Figure 2 shows a preferred embodiment of a circuit arrangement 200 according to the invention for short-circuit protection. The circuit arrangement 200 can be used, for example, in the antenna component 20 shown in Fig. 1 in order to detect a short circuit caused on the coaxial cables or at the input or output and to protect other circuit parts in the antenna component 200 from destruction. In this application, the inputs (i.e. the connections to the coaxial cables 30A and 30B) of the antenna component 200 are protected with the circuit arrangement 200 according to the invention.
The circuit arrangement 200 consists of an RF switching device which has PIN diodes D8, Δ9, D10, D11, which are controlled via control signals X1, X2 and transistors T8-13. By activating the connections X1 or X2, either the diode path D8-D9 or the diode path D10-D11 is made conductive, so that either an RF signal present at an input LNB A or an RF signal present at an input LNB B can pass through the diode path which has been made conductive in each case to an output REC.

In the operating state, a direct voltage, preferably in the range of 11-19V, is present at the output REC, which is supplied, for example, by the satellite receiver 50. This voltage is fed - depending on the switching situation - either via a choke L2, a transistor T12 and a choke L3, or via the choke L2, a transistor T13 and another choke L1 to the input LNB A or LNB B.
A potential drop or a short circuit at the LNB A input can be detected by a circuit arrangement consisting of a diode D12, a transistor T11 and the transistor T12. Similarly, a potential drop or a short circuit at the LNB B input can be detected by a circuit arrangement consisting of a diode D13, a transistor T10 and the transistor T13.
If the control signal X2 is active, the diode path DlO, DIl is switched on via a transistor T8 and the transistors TIl and T12. If the voltage at the LNB A input drops towards 0V via the choke L3, e.g. due to a short circuit at the LNB A input, this voltage drop is passed on to the base of the transistor TIl via the diode D12, preferably a Schottky diode. This changes the operating point of the transistor TlI so that the transistor TIl is blocked. This also changes the operating point of the transistor T12 so that it is also blocked. The voltage present at the emitter of transistor T12 via the REC connection and L2 is no longer allowed to pass.
SinktIf the control signal Xl is active, the diode section D8, 5 D9 is conductive and the diode section DlO, DIl is blocked.
Die über den Anschluss REC und L2 am Emitter von Transistor T13 anliegende Spannung wird nun nicht mehr durchgelassen.the voltage at the LNB B input drops across the choke Ll in the direction of OV, e.g. due to a short circuit at the LNB B input, this voltage drop is passed on to the base of the transistor TlO via the diode D13, preferably a Schottky diode. This changes the operating point of the transistor TlO so that the transistor TlO is blocked. This also changes the operating point of the transistor T13 so that it is also blocked. The voltage applied to the emitter of transistor T13 via the REC connection and L2 is no longer allowed to pass.
The circuit arrangement 200 functions particularly reliably when using Schottky diodes as the diodes D12 and D13, since these have very short reaction times and cause a smaller voltage drop than normal switching diodes.
The circuit arrangement 200 according to the invention can also be used to detect a short circuit on the output side in antenna components and is thus universally applicable.
Preferred dimensions of the individual components can be seen in Fig. 2. In addition to the interconnection of the components mentioned above, Fig. 2 also shows other components that can preferably be inserted for circuit stabilization.
Any number of inputs or outputs can be monitored with the circuit arrangement and protected against short circuits.
