Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for waste treatment of municipal waste or the like, at least partially biodegraded in the waste in a rotting stage becomes. Furthermore, the invention relates to an installation for carrying out the method a facility for biodegrading waste, consisting essentially of a Container to hold the waste to be treated, as well as lines and container inferences for supplying and removing air to and from the waste container.
A variety of waste treatment methods are known in which the waste is biodegraded. Biodegradation or decomposition also becomes rotten called. Under the rotting process, all are mainly aerobic rotting processes understanding of waste. During the decomposition of the waste or in the rotting stage in the In general, there is polluted exhaust air, usually in a downstream Work step of the process, the so-called exhaust air cleaning, must be treated further, in particular by predetermined limit values, for example with regard to the Carbon content.
For example, a method is known in which the waste is initially at least in a rotting stage is partially biodegraded. The resulting exhaust air is then in treated with a biofilter. The biofilter is used in particular to limit the Odor emission. The filter effect is based on the biodegradation of certain Substances and odorants, such as. B. alcohols. Such exhaust air treatment with the However, biofilter has the disadvantage that various chemical compounds, such as. B. Fluorine-chlorine hydrocarbons (CFCs), not or only to a very small extent be dismantled. Furthermore, the biofilter is above about about temperatures 40 ° C sensitive or no longer usable, so that the exhaust air supplied to the biofilter must be cooled under certain circumstances. This is usually done by a Increase in fresh air supply, but this leads to an undesirable increase in Exhaust air volume leads.
In the area of mechanical-biological waste treatment (MBA) the sensitivity is the biofilter is disadvantageous compared to ammonia. Possible poisonings can, for example can only be excluded by using additional, cost-intensive washers. Of the temperature in the biofilter must also be kept below 40 ° C. A economically sensible and comply with limit values or conform to guidelines Waste treatment is with a combination of biodegradation in a rot stage and subsequent exhaust air cleaning in the biofilter is therefore not guaranteed.
In other known methods, for example the exhaust air purification of MBT plants the pollutant load of the exhaust air is usually low, so that additional support firing is necessary to flare the treated exhaust air, for example. With others The exhaust air must be energetically enriched in order to be able to treat it further. This is usually done by adding natural gas or biogas. This type of waste or Exhaust air treatment is, however, because of the high energy requirements involved in the process must be introduced, uneconomical.
The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a method with which biodegradable waste makes energy and economic sense and at the same time is degraded or treated in an environmentally friendly manner. Furthermore, it is an object of the invention to create a system with which the inventive method can be carried out.
The object is achieved together with the features of the preamble of claim 1 in that at least part of the exhaust air emerging from the rot stage is regeneratively cleaned and another part of the exhaust air is recirculated as recirculating air into a supply area of the rot stage. Regenerative exhaust air purification, which can be understood as thermal exhaust air purification with regenerative preheating, for example in a Vocsißox®, means that all organic compounds are almost completely broken down, so that the environment is only slightly polluted and specified limit values can be met. The recirculation of part of the exhaust air in the supply area of the rot stage causes the amount of exhaust air for exhaust air purification to be significantly reduced. The circulating and exhaust air is enriched with pollutants through the circulation, so that the reduced amount of exhaust air has a higher concentration of pollutants. This makes the economically sensible use of regenerative exhaust air purification possible because, due to the reduced and pollutant-rich amount of exhaust air, support firing can also be operated economically and the CO 2 emissions can be reduced. The method according to the invention thus reduces the organic carbon load in the exhaust air, with at the same time acceptable costs for the exhaust air purification.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, that for regenerative cleaning branched off part of the exhaust air by supplying fresh air in the supply area of the Red level replaced. The fresh air can already come from untreated ambient air Polluted air enriched, for example from suction devices, or so-called Mixed air from untreated ambient air and air enriched with pollutants consist. The only decisive factor is that the pollution of fresh air is less than is the pollution of the exhaust air, which is formed in the process itself. Through the The method according to the invention can supply the fresh air in a metered manner continuously operated and the amount of exhaust air kept low.
In a preferred development of the method, the methane gas production in the red stage is increased. The auxiliary firing and thus the addition of auxiliary gases during exhaust air purification can be reduced. If the calorific value reaches a value of approximately 0.03 kWh / Nm 3 , which corresponds to a methane gas content in the exhaust air of 0.3 vol%, the exhaust air purification can be carried out autothermally, ie without additional auxiliary firing. This is a particularly economical form of waste treatment.
Advantageously, the oxygen content in the rot stage is controlled by the circulation, namely by changing the ratio of fresh air and recirculated air. Each the less fresh air is fed into the rotting process, the less oxygen they are Conditions in the red stage. This will change the living conditions improved methane-producing microorganisms in the rot stage, so that from the Exhaust air escaping rot stage is improved due to the increased methane gas content Has calorific value.
In a further preferred embodiment of the method, in essence aerobic red level creates anaerobic areas, which also improve the Living conditions of the methane gas producing organisms and thus to one Enrichment of methane gas in the exhaust air leads. The anaerobic areas form for example when waste with different sized waste elements or pieces is introduced to the red level. In the area of the larger waste elements or pieces can then form anaerobic areas more easily. Alternatively, waste cannot either homogeneous or waste with different consistency. Furthermore, the waste also partially z. B. compressed by pressing. Another way to Generation of the anaerobic areas consists in setting the ventilation of the rot stage in such a way that at least part of the waste is poorly or not ventilated at all, so that the Form red anaerobic "nests".
The fresh air and / or exhaust air and / or circulating air is preferably cooled and / or dehumidified. As a result, the process as such can be controlled better and more easily because in particular by cooling the temperature in the rotting stage kept at a value in which the biodegradation process and methane production are optimal function. The thermal heat of reaction and the water of evaporation are through this step according to the invention is at least partially removed from the rotting stage.
The object underlying the invention is further achieved by a system with the Features of the preamble of claim 16 solved in that the system a Device for regenerative exhaust air purification and means with which the from Exhaust air escaping into the feed area of the waste container is traceable. As a result, waste or Exhaust air cleaning feasible, in which the cleaned exhaust air has the required limit values by breaking down almost all organic substances. The means to repatriate the Exhaust air exiting the waste container ensures the reduction in a simple manner the amount of exhaust air, by a factor of up to ten compared to conventional Plants, so that the plant for an economical and environmentally friendly treatment of Waste or exhaust air can be used.

The process described below is used for waste treatment, in which the waste is at least partially biodegraded. The process is suitable for the treatment of various types of waste. The term waste in the present invention accordingly includes conventional municipal waste, valuable materials, packaging materials, purely biological waste and mixtures of several of the named or other types of waste. The waste is either completely or partially biodegraded or serves as an admixture to biodegradable waste. The method is advantageously carried out using one of the systems shown schematically in FIGS. 1 to 5.
In Fig. 1, a system 10 is shown for the treatment of waste, as well as applicable in the fermentation stage, inter alia, in the treatment of waste exhaust air. The system 10 essentially consists of a waste container 11 and lines 12 , 13 and (not shown) container connections for supplying and removing air to and from the waste container 11 . In the flow direction of the air represented by arrows, a device 15 for other exhaust air treatment or purification is arranged behind the waste container 11 , in a so-called discharge area 14 . In the embodiment shown, the device 15 is designed for regenerative exhaust air purification, wherein the thermal exhaust air purification with regenerative preheating takes place in a VocsiBox® in the system shown. A branch 16 is provided between the waste container 11 and the device 15 , such that an additional line 17 branches off from the line 13 , with which exhaust air from the waste container 11 can be returned to a supply area 18 of the system 10 . The line 17 forms a circuit 19 which closes at a connecting or mixing element 20 or the like in the area of the line 12 in the feed area 18 . Alternatively, however, it is also possible for the container 11 with the lines 12 and 13 and the circuit 19 as a block unit to be combined with other, not described further, conventional components for further exhaust air treatment or purification. The container 11 itself can be designed as a tunnel, box, container, rental or the like.
In order to carry out the method, waste is filled into the container 11 . The container 11 is then closed. For a stable and reproducible process result, it is necessary for the waste to be shielded or sealed off from the air and / or moisture influences from the environment. In the following, the process is started up in that air is conducted via line 12 into the waste container 11 . The air can either be supplied from the outside, or the air that is already in the system, ie in the container 11 and the lines 12 , 13 and 17, is used. The air can be transported by pumps, fans or the like, not shown in FIG. 1. The air supplied to the container 11 in the feed region 18 leaves the container 11 in the discharge region 14 as exhaust air 21 . The exhaust air 21 is the total air that emerges from the rotting stage or the container 11 .
The exhaust air 21 is then passed in whole or in part to the device 15 for the subsequent method step, where it is cleaned regeneratively. In the event that only part of the exhaust air 21 is directed to the device 15 , another part of the exhaust air 21 is branched off between the container 11 and the device 15 . This air, which is conducted in the region of the branch 16 from the line 13 into the line 17 , is recirculated as recirculating air 22 via the circuit 19 into the supply area 18 of the container 11 . There, the circulating air 22 is mixed with fresh air 23 and returned to the container 11 . Alternatively, it is also possible for the circulating air 22 to be supplied to the container 11 without the supply of fresh air 23 . The ratio between the fresh air 23 and the circulating air 22 is freely selectable and adjustable. In order to maintain a continuous process, the exhaust air 21 directed to the device 15 is replaced by fresh air 23 .
In a preferred development of the system according to FIG. 2, which essentially corresponds to the system 10 according to FIG. 1, means 24 for cooling the circulating air 22 are additionally arranged in the region of the circuit 19 . The means 24 can also be designed as a combined washing and cooling agent. Alternatively, however, it is also possible to provide the cooling and washing means separately. Furthermore, the system 10 has temperature sensors 25 and 26 and a measuring means 27 for detecting the methane gas content in the exhaust air 21 . The temperature sensors 25 and 26 are arranged in front of and behind the container 11 . As an alternative, the methane gas content can also be determined in the circulating air 22 , or in the feed area 18 , that is to say after the circulating air 22 has been mixed with the fresh air 23 immediately before being fed into the container 11 . A controller 28 regulates the fresh air supply or the ratio between fresh air 23 and recirculated air 22 on the basis of the measured values determined.
The determination of the temperature values can be used in order to be able to keep the fresh air 23 and / or circulating air 22 supplied to the rotting stage at an essentially constant temperature by means of suitable, known measures, for example in order to achieve a constant process with constant results. There is also the possibility of cooling and / or dehumidifying the fresh air 23 and / or exhaust air 21 using conventional means. In this case, the means for this are to be positioned at the corresponding points, the most varied of positions being conceivable (see, for example, FIGS. 4 and 5). The cooling and / or dehumidification can take place either by means of directly or indirectly cooled heat exchangers or washers, or by means of a sorption process. The fresh air can also be cooled by adiabatic humidification. Another possibility of cooling is washing. Washing removes all or part of the heat of reaction from the air. The cooling of the exhaust air 21 can either take place immediately before the exhaust air 21 is introduced into the device 15 , or it takes place only in the circulating air 22 in such a way that the cooled circulating air 22 or a part thereof is fed to the device 15 . The dehumidification can e.g. B. done regeneratively via the hot exhaust gas from the regenerative exhaust air purification. If the exhaust air 21 is dehumidified before entering the VocsiBox®, the exhaust air mass flow through the VocsiBox® is reduced, and with it the amount of auxiliary gas for the auxiliary firing.
However, the exhaust air 21 and / or circulating air 22 can also be washed for cleaning purposes. For example, dust particles are removed by washing. The biologically contaminated wastewater 40 resulting from the cooling or washing is further treated in a separate step. However, it is also possible to supply the condensate or waste water 40 in whole or in part to the rot stage, for example for cooling and / or humidification purposes.
A particularly preferred system 10 for waste and exhaust air treatment is shown in FIG. 3. The basic structure corresponds to that of Fig. 1, so that the same reference numerals are used for the same parts. The container 11 is connected via lines 13 to the device 15 , a VocsiBox®, for thermal exhaust air purification with regenerative preheating. The regenerative cleaning is non-catalytic and flame-free, so that the cleaned exhaust air is low in NO x . Due to the treatment of the exhaust air 21 described , it is then virtually germ-free. Due to the high internal temperature of approx. 1000 ° C, the regenerative, thermal exhaust air cleaning is insensitive to high temperatures above 40 ° C in the exhaust air 21 and to chemical poisoning. The system 10 also has the circuit 19 , which is formed by lines 17 . The circuit 19 branches off from the line 13 behind the container 11 and is led to the line 12 . In addition to the temperature sensors 25 and 26 , the system 10 also has an additional temperature sensor 29 for detecting the temperature in the rotting stage or in the container 11 .
The temperature sensor 26 determines the temperature in the exhaust air 21 , specifically before a part of the exhaust air 21 is passed as branch air 22 into the circuit 19 or branched off. The temperature of the exhaust air 21 or circulating air 22 can, however, also be determined at other points, for example in the circuit 19 . Between the branch 16 to the circuit 19 and the device 15 , the measuring means 27 is arranged, with which the methane gas content in the exhaust air 21 and the oxygen content is determined. Compressors 30 and 31 are arranged in line 12 and are operated by motors 32 and 33 in the example shown. The compressors 30 and 31 ensure the air transport in the system 10 , the compressors 30 and 31 being arranged in a row in the line 12 . The line 17 of the circuit 19 connects to the line 12 between the compressors 30 and 31 . Furthermore, the system 10 has displays 34 and 35 of the volume flow of the circulating air 22 and the volume flow of the fresh air 23 . The display 34 of the volume flow of the circulating air 22 is arranged in the area of the line 17 of the circuit 19 . The display 35 of the volume flow of the fresh air 23 is arranged between the compressors 30 and 31 or between the compressor 30 and the contact point of line 17 and line 12 .
Conventional control means and lines 36 control compressors 30 and 31 . The compressor 31 is controlled, among other things, by the temperature difference ΔT (the temperature sensors 26 and 29 ) in the rot stage and in the circulating air 22 and the exhaust air 21 . The compressor 30 for the fresh air 23 is controlled with the aid of the measured values for the O 2 and CH 4 content in the exhaust air 21 and the temperature in the container 11 . Corresponding frequency converters 27 and 38 control the motors 32 and 33 . As a result, an optimal ratio between CH 4 and O 2 content can be determined and set, which enables a particularly good and quick reaction in the container 11 . The temperature in the container 11 must not rise above a value of approximately 80-90 ° C., since the living conditions for the bacteria also deteriorate. Usually, the temperature in the container 11 is kept at a substantially constant temperature. However, it is possible to vary these depending on the requirement or desired result.
As a result of the reaction taking place in the red stage, the temperature in the container 11 increases . With the increased temperature in the container 11 or in the circulating air 22 , the moisture, pollution and enthalpy of the exhaust air 21 increase disproportionately in accordance with the exponential vapor pressure curves of the water and all volatile components. The heat of reaction and the water of evaporation can thus be removed at least partially via the exhaust air 21 . The water in the exhaust air 21 is cleaned and discharged in the regenerative exhaust air purification in this embodiment, so that no additional waste water treatment is required. By controlling the temperature in the container 11 or limiting the temperature to max. about 80-90 ° C ensures that the process and in particular the biodegradation of the waste can continue. Different alternatives are available to limit the temperature. So the temperature in the rotting stage can be regulated by regulating the fresh air and / or exhaust air and / or recirculated air quantity. Furthermore, the temperature can be regulated by adding dampening water to the fresh air and / or circulating air and to the rotting material. This measure means that no additional, biologically contaminated condensate 40 is produced . Water-containing aerosols in the exhaust air are evaporated in the VocsiBox® and oxidizable components are almost completely oxidized. The process at an elevated temperature in the rot stage leads to a reduction in the volume of exhaust air to be cleaned and the evaporation and reaction heat to be removed without additional wastewater.
Dies hängt insbesondere von den gewünschten Ergebnissen ab.Leave all the elements described for the individual embodiments of the system are easily transferred in the same way to the other systems or with them combine. Cooling and / or dehumidification can take place anywhere. This depends in particular on the desired results.
In an embodiment not shown, several containers 11 can also be combined with one another. Each container 11 advantageously has a separate circulating air circuit. The unit, consisting of several containers 11 with circulating air circuits, is combined with a central device for regenerative exhaust air purification. This system can be operated both with a central supply of fresh air and with separate lines for the supply of fresh air.
