Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet eine elektrische Dampflampe, bei welcher der von Gasen oder Dämpfen bzw. Metalldämpfer; von der einen zur anderen Elektrode hinübergeleitete elektrische Lichtbogen dazu benutzt wird, einen Glühkörper in Glut zu versetzen.
