Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for measuring mechanical stresses in optically transparent materials according to the preamble of claim 1 and a device for performing this method according to the preamble of Claim 4.
It is known to measure mechanical stresses in optically transparent Materials change the state of polarization from circularly polarized Light based on the relative change in intensity of two perpendicular to each other Measure polarization components. It only gets here at one point of the material measured. All material is recorded by Traversing the measuring head.
The invention has for its object a method and an apparatus for measuring mechanical stresses in transparent materials after Improve the preamble of claim 1 so that no traversing device is required.
Erfindungsgemäß wird diese Aufgabe dadurch gelöst,
According to the invention, this object is achieved by
That the material is illuminated with linearly polarized light,
That the light that has passed through the material hits analyzers, de Ren polarization directions by 45 ° with respect to the polarization direction of the Polarizers are rotated,
- - daß die Polarisationsrichtungen der Analysatoren senkrecht zueinander ange ordnet sind,- That the polarization directions of the analyzers are perpendicular to each other are arranged,
That a picture of the intensi determined by the analyzers on a diffuser parts of the respective polarization component is mapped,
That a video camera takes a picture of the intensity components and
That this image is evaluated and a change in the intensity shares as Measure of the tension in the material is used.
The advantage of this method is u. a. in that for voltage measurement Video cameras are used which overlap the entire width of the Ma capture terials. No traversing device is therefore required.
According to the invention, the direction of the change in the intensity components of ei nem analyzer to the other to determine whether it is a train or Compressive stress in the transparent material is used. The relationship The intensity components of the two analyzers serve as a measure of the strength tensile or compressive stress.
A device for carrying out the method with an illuminating device, a polarizer, analyzers, a diffuser and a video camera with line evaluation is characterized according to the invention,
That the polarizer generates linearly polarized light and with the lighting device is arranged on one side of the transparent material and
That on the other hand two analyzers, the diffuser and the video camera are arranged.
The diffuser can be placed in the focus of the video camera or outside his. The transparent material is, for example, a glass sheet or a Plastic film.
Further features of the invention result from the single figure that follows is described below.
In the single figure, reference numerals 1 designate the illuminating device, 2 a polarizer, 3 and 4 two analyzers, the polarization directions of which are oriented perpendicular to one another. The direction of polarization of the polarizer 2 is rotated 45 degrees relative to the directions of polarization of the analyzers 3 , 4 . An image of the intensity components of the respective polarization components determined by the analyzers 3 , 4 is formed on a diffuser 5 . The video camera 6 takes a picture of this intensity ratio of the polarization components.
From the evaluation of the image, you can see the voltage-optical state (tension or pressure) from which of the analyzers determines a greater proportion of intensity. In the de-energized state, both parts are of the same size, since both analyzers 3 , 4 have the same angle to the incident linearly polarized light. If there is material 7 with mechanical stresses between the polarizer 2 and analyzer 3 , 4 , the direction of polarization of the linearly polarized light coming from the polarizer 2 is changed. The direction of the change depends on whether it is a tensile or compressive stress. The strength of the change can be determined from the ratio of the two intensity components to one another.
