Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing metallic, oxide or ceramic hollow spheres the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the Invention a device for applying the method according to claim 11.
The production of metallic, oxide or kerami hollow spheres is becoming increasingly important after the advantageous use of such hollow spheres for various design purposes has been demonstrated. Exemplary areas of application are in lightweight construction Crash absorbers, heat insulators and sound absorbers.
Cladding layers are known from the prior art to be deposited on a carrier element and this cladding layer to sinter. The carrier element is already in front Pyrolysed reaching the sintering temperature and the jewei any substance expelled through the covering layer.
The problem is the effective and uniform structure of the Industrial-scale cladding. An essential one The requirement here is the harmless handling of the green compacts, d. H. the carrier elements with the shell built on them layer, from coating to sintering.
Die beschichteten und ge trockneten Teilchen werden unter Bewegung bei 400 bis 500°C pyrolysiert und bei Temperaturen von 1000 bis 1500°C unter Bewegung gesintert.EP 0 300 543 A1 describes a method for producing described by metallic or ceramic hollow spheres, where a solid layer on top of one spherical particles of foamed polymer applied and the coated polymer core is pyrolyzed. The spherical particles are moving with it treated an aqueous suspension, the dissolved or suspended binder and metallic and / or kerami contains powder particles. The coated and ge Dried particles are agitated at 400 to 500 ° C pyrolyzed and at temperatures from 1000 to 1500 ° C sintered while moving.
Such a solution is great for an industrial one technical implementation not suitable. So is the Suspen sion from a liquid binder and the solid particles technologically difficult due to sedimentation handle. In particular, the suspension used is up to effective at the end of the deposition of the solid layer. So that the solid layer is after its construction accordingly damp and unstable. The required move supply of the individual particles in all process sections ten, for example in an eddy current, leads to the fact that the balls or hollow spheres are deformed or destroyed the. Parts of the covering layer can be broken off and itself together as a solid body without the polymer core clench what is absolutely harmful. The procedural Sintering while moving is also significant Problems associated with the hollow spheres in the unsintered th initial phase extremely sensitive to mecha African burdens.
An industrial use of the state of the art processes Technology is due to the considerable stability problems unsintered metallic, oxide or ceramic Solid hollow spheres largely excluded.
Die Trocknung der Hüllschicht erfolgt während oder nach der Beschichtung der Kerne durch Beaufschlagung mit einem Trocknungsgas.DE 197 50 042 A1 describes the production of a pourable product, which consists of one core each there is at least one coating layer. The cores become Structure of the cladding layer with a conical rotor vertical rotor axis and above the rotor peripheral and statically arranged guide vanes in a circulation transferred. The shell layer is made of a powder Starting material and a liquid binder builds. The coating layer is dried during or after coating the cores by applying a drying gas.
The invention has for its object a method of the type mentioned at the beginning, with the metallic, industrial or oxidic or ceramic hollow spheres can be produced on an industrial scale. In particular the task is that the outer layers of the Green bodies as soon as the shell is built up layer have an inherent stability that extends to the sine technologically required handling accomplishes.
Furthermore, the invention consists in a device to indicate the application of the procedure.
11 genannten Merkmale. The invention solves the problem by in the characterizing The parts of claims 1 and 11 mentioned features.
Advantageous developments of the invention are in the respective subclaims and are marked below along with the description of the preferred Implementation of the invention, including the drawing, shown in more detail.
The essence of the invention is that the cladding layer is built up on a carrier element by a liquid saturated or pasty binder and at least one starting material material to build up the cladding layer independently a coating system is supplied. As a raw material becomes a solid dry, powder or granular Starting material used.
The carrier element is carefully moved, preferably wise according to claim 2 in the form of a rolling movement, so that the cladding layer in the manner of the Snowball builds up on the support element. The Binder can be variable and very precise in minimal required amount can be dosed.
For example, you can start coating for an effective Layer build up a relatively large amount of binder be performed and to complete the coating Binder feeds are stopped during the exit material is fed until the effective adhesion goes to zero due to the binder. It happens due to the mixture and the increased proportion of the out already at the end of the coating effective drying of the coating layer overall, the one easy handling possible. Another one essential feature of the invention is that the further treatment of the green compact essentially static calm occurs. So that hollow bodies are produced has a very uniform structure, especially essentially free from deformations due to are mechanical loads.
The invention can vary in extraordinary breadth become. The raw materials for the cover layer, the bandage medium and also the material for the carrier element can can be varied so that the hollow body is specific to the can be produced for each application. It can also source materials with different sintered and melting temperatures as a mixture or in succession to Structure of individual layers can be used. Thereby can use layer structures or gradient structures different density and porosity.
According to the method, the exposure to the intensi act the movement of the support elements in the manufacture of the envelope layer and thus the density of the envelope layer can be influenced. This can be done by varying the Speed of the coating devices with respect to the Mass of the support elements and the bulk density take place.
By adding a special binder, which softened at a specific higher temperature at the appropriate temperature, a targeted circulation of the Green bodies are carried out over a variety collisions between the green compacts during the circulation other causes a densification of the coating.
Depending on the technological application or purpose the finished hollow sphere it may be necessary that these have a specific porosity. That can simply by the specific selection of the geometry of the Starting materials can be realized. It is also possible that Binder or the starting material specific placeholder to mix in, later similar to the material of the carrier elements can be removed pyrolytically. As such Placeholders can be organic substances such as a granulate of graphite, urea or polystyrene with a diameter between about 50 microns and 500 microns used become.
It is also possible to build immediately after Cladding layer, d. H. still within the coating system, targeted drying by supplying drying gas and / or to carry out radiation.
The invention is illustrated below in two embodiments play explained in more detail.
The drawing shows in Figs. 1a to 1d, belonging to the exemplary embodiment I, a schematic configuration of a hollow sphere in the course of the procedure.
FIGS. 2a and 2b show the corresponding design of the hollow sphere belonging to embodiment II.
For illustrative purposes, reference is made to the illustration in FIGS. 1a 5 to 1d.
For coating the elements 1 Trägerele in a device in a rolling movement ver sets. The device has, for example, a conical rotor with a vertical rotor axis, which is arranged in a rotor chamber. Immediately above the rotor, static guide devices are arranged on the side of the rotor chamber. The carrier elements 1 are rolled radially outwards by the centrifugal force on the rotor and upwards on the wall of the rotor chamber until they come into the region of the guide devices. They roll along these, being rolled in a roller shape inwards and counter to the direction of rotation of the rotor. It is essential that the guide devices are matched to the centrifugal force-induced rolling movements of the carrier elements 1 in such a way that no edges engage directly in the carrier elements 1 which are rolling around.
A mixture of 950 ml of water and 12.5 ml of glycerol in which 40 g of polyvinyl alcohol is dissolved is sprayed onto the carrier elements 1 circulating in the rotor chamber as a binder. Thus, the originally dry carrier elements are moistened and the prerequisite for the adhesion of the starting material to form an enveloping layer on the carrier elements is created.
Copper powder with a particle size <40 microns is used as starting material A. For example, 400 g of this copper powder are fed separately from the binder into the coating system. In a short time, the entire copper powder, similar to the snowball effect, is applied to the carrier elements 1 as a covering layer 2 .
The cladding layer 2 consists of a mixture of the binder used and the copper powder, which is resistant to abrasion to a technologically necessary extent and has a thickness of approximately 50 μm.
In a further process step immediately following, with the further addition of the binder, a further re cladding layer 3 is built up on the carrier elements 1 with the cladding layer 2 ( FIG. 1c). For this purpose, a starting material B in the form of chromium-nickel steel powder (Cr-Ni steel powder - Ampersint 0717, HC Starck, AISIT 316L) is fed to the circulating carrier elements 1 with the cladding layer 2 .
For this purpose, 800 g of the Cr-Ni steel powder, which has a particle size of approximately 20 μm, are applied in the same way as when the carrier elements 1 were coated with the copper powder (cladding layer 2 ) to a thickness of 50 μm.
The total thickness of the coating, consisting of the cladding layers 2 and 3, is approximately 100 μm. The first cladding layer 2 made of copper powder lies below the second cladding layer 3 made of Cr-Ni steel powder.
These balls, hereinafter referred to as green parts until they are sintered, are then heat-treated under reducing protective gas with an increased hydrogen content. At a first temperature level of approx. 450 ° C., the previously melted polystyrene of the carrier elements 1 is pyrolytically expelled through the porous cladding layers 2 and 3 . Then the binder is driven out accordingly.
Finally, the balls are further heated up to approx. 1050 ° C. The copper powder of the cladding layer 2 sinters at this temperature, while the Cr-Ni steel powder only begins to sinter.
After about 20 minutes of sintering, the temperature is raised to 1120 ° C. The copper powder melts accordingly, the inner cladding layer 2 , and penetrates through capillary forces into the pores of the only slightly sintered outer cladding layer 3 made of Cr-Ni steel. The amount of copper was dimensioned when the cladding layer 2 was built up, so that not all of the pore space inside the cladding layer 3 , but only about 75% of the pore volume were infiltrated with copper from the inside. The copper melt thus does not reach the sphere surface directly, thereby preventing the hollow spheres from being connected to one another by the copper melt after the heat treatment. Such a layer structure thus has a graded layer structure, wherein different material gradients can be built up.
The resulting hollow spheres are very firm. Their pore-free shell has a bulk density of approx. 0.5 g / cm 3 . Such hollow spheres can be processed to shape hollow spheres by shaping and pre-compression. By pre-compression, the surfaces of the individual hollow spheres approach so far that there is also contact with the copper melt. The copper content must be such that the copper completely fills the pore volume of the Cr-Ni steel layer. Shaped bodies with such a pore infiltration have a particularly high strength compared to those which were produced with only one powder component. The hollow spheres invented according to the invention and subsequently hollow spherical shaped bodies can be used for a variety of purposes, for. B. they are ideal for lightweight construction.
Similar to embodiment I, in embodiment II (FIGS . 2a and 2b), balls 1 made of EPS with an average diameter of 4.5 mm with chrome-nickel steel powder (Ampersint 0717, HC Starck, AISI 316L) are used as carrier elements . coated. 1000 g of this chrome-nickel steel powder, a polyethylene wax powder with a particle size of <200 µm and a mixture of 950 ml of water and 12.5 ml of glycerin, in which 40 polyvinyl alcohol were dissolved, are the coating system separately fed. After the build-up of the coating as a covering layer 4, there is a solid but deformable and abrasion-resistant porous layer made of Cr-Ni steel particles 5 and polyethylene wax powder particles 6 , which are bound by polyvinyl alcohol 7 , on the carrier elements 1 .
The thickness of this layer is approximately 300 µm. These green objects are then heat-treated under reducing protective gas with an increased hydrogen content. At a first temperature level of approx. 450 ° C., the polystyrene of the carrier elements 1 and then the binder and the polyethylene wax powder, which functions in the coating layer 4 as a placeholder for pores, pyrolyze first. The substances are driven out through the porous coating layer 4 .
Then the green compacts continue up to 1250 ° C heated up. This temperature is for about 30 minutes maintain constant. The Cr-Ni steel Powder sintered.
The resulting hollow spheres have an open porosity from, for example, 65%. The strength of the hollow spheres allows easy handling and further processing work on moldings.
B. für den Einsatz bei Schalldämpfern.- In Fig. 2b, the finished Cr-Ni steel hollow sphere is Darge, ie the carrier element 1 and the parts of the bandage by means of and the additives have already been removed.
