Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a headrest arrangement according to the preamble of Claim 1.
Modern headrest arrangements of this structure, the headrest usually in the Seat backrest is mounted, are designed so that the headrest both in terms their height as well as with respect to the inclination of their head Vehicle occupant facing area adjustable and thus the respective Conditions of the vehicle occupant is adaptable. The corresponding adjustability the headrest is preferably provided by devices designed in this way, that the adjustment by the vehicle occupants themselves, d. H. after occupying the seat, can be made. This means that the said devices for relative low adjustment forces must be designed. While such a design of the Adjustment devices is therefore optimal in terms of operation, it can have serious disadvantages a crash occurring in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, in particular one Rear impact. As a result of the, as stated, only small adjustment forces for Operating the devices for height and tilt adjustment can cause a crash namely an undesired inclination adjustment and / or height adjustment, possibly even loosening the headrest from the back of the seat Consequence, so that just when the headrest is needed, namely in the case of a crash occurring in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, the headrest is incorrect Preservation or detachment from the seat, i.e. a seat without a headrest is present.
For this reason, headrest arrangements have already become known in which Measures are taken either with regard to the inclination setting or cause a locking with regard to the height adjustment of the headrest in the event of a crash. While DE 33 35 497 C2 and DE 39 39 453 A1 are permanently effective Revolving interlocks for headrests reveal the comfortable described Difficulty operating the headrest arrangement by the vehicle occupant shows the FR 26 86 383 A1 a swivel lock with an eccentrically suspended Mass that occurs in a crash against the force of a spring, taking advantage of its Inertia is pivoted and then forms a brake, as it were. DE 31 05 142 A1 In contrast, a height lock of the headrest can be found, which is also only is effective in the event of a crash. Here, too, there is an inert mass, that of one such a crash in upward accelerations a hook in a headrest Handrail in the seat backrest locking position swivels.
These two constructions described last have the advantage that they only cause a lock in the event of a crash; however, they have the disadvantage that either only a locking of the inclination or only a locking of the height adjustment of the Headrest is carried out.
The invention is based on the object, a generic To create headrest arrangement that with simple means both a tilt and the headrest is also locked in the event of a crash. The should also Fact taken into account that the space required in the area of brackets the headrest is limited.
The inventive solution to this problem consists in the characterizing Features of the main claim describe advantageous embodiments of the invention the subclaims.
A particular advantage of the invention is the fact that a large part of the provided facilities of height and inclination lock is common; in particular, the two common tension member and the one in the event of a crash Point out tensile forces to this device.
How to express the subclaims can also pull these for exercising facility known and proven facilities, for example pyrotechnic design or inert masses, use. Especially The invention can be carried out in a space-saving manner if the Headrest, as usual, at least one tubular handrail is used because then a large part of the clamping devices including the pulling element within the tubular support rod can be accommodated.
A corresponding embodiment is shown below with reference to the drawing explained.
Referring first to Fig. 1, so at 1 a head support is conventional and therefore not specifically indicated to be described assembly. It contains on the rigid headrest insert body 2 , which is used in particular for mounting the headrest, a cushion 2 a and is held in the backrest of a vehicle seat by means of tubular support rods, of which only the one labeled 3 can be seen in the drawing. Of this backrest or the holding or guiding parts in it for the holding rod 3 , the body 4 is only indicated in FIG. 1.
The left front surface of the headrest 1 in FIG. 1 faces the vehicle occupant and its inclination can be adjusted by pivoting the frame 2 about the horizontal transverse pivot axis 5 (see FIG. 3) after overcoming the friction given by the disc 6 . The frame 2 shows the disk-shaped abutment body 7 , which is provided on its surface pointing to the right in FIG. 3 with depressions arranged on a circular arc around the pivot axis 5 for increasing the friction. These recesses face and are assigned as abutments to at least one rolling element 8 , which is supported in a sawtooth-like recess in the insert element 9 on the inclined pressure surface 10 . This roller or spherical rolling body is secured in a cage with respect to the longitudinal direction of the tubular support rod 3 , so that the rolling body 8 when the insert body 9 moves in the direction of the arrow, ie downward with respect to the figures, outwards against the abutment or the abutment body 7 is pressed; this makes an unwanted pivoting of the headrest frame 2 and thus the entire headrest 1 impossible.
Another insert body 11 can be seen in the tubular support rod 3 in the region of the abutment body 4 fixed to the backrest. This insert body 11 also forms oblique pressure surfaces 12 for rolling bodies 13 , which in turn are prevented from moving in the longitudinal direction of the holding rod 3 by a cage 14 and are therefore pressed radially outward against the abutment 15 as soon as the insert body 11 is pulled downward. Both in the headrest and in the seat back, clamping devices are provided in the manner of freewheels, which do not hinder the desired adjustments of the inclination and height of the headrest only in the normal positions assumed in the figures, but in the case of a downward displacement, a locking of both the inclination adjustment as well as the height adjustment of the headrest.
The common pulling element 16 , for example a wire strand, and on the other hand a device 17 , which exerts a pulling force on the pulling element 16 in the event of a crash, serves to apply such pulling forces. This tension member 16 is thus in the longitudinal direction of the support rod 3 , in which it also runs, firmly connected to the two insert bodies 9 and 11 , so that it moves them both downward in the presence of a crash-related tensile force, due to the same orientation of the pressure surfaces 10 and 12 both the rolling elements 8 and the rolling elements 13 are pressed against their abutments and accordingly lock. In the normal position shown, the insert bodies can be held by springs.
In Fig. 1 it is assumed that the device 17 contains an inert mass 18 , which only engages in a longitudinal crash due to its inertia in one of the spring catches 19 and thereby a deflection of the fixed at 20 with its lower end using a clamping screw Zugansans 16 causes. As a result of the setting at 20, this deflection results in a movement of the insert bodies 9 and 11 in a downward direction.
However, the device 17 can also be a pyrotechnic device known per se, to which a crash sensor, preferably a pre-crash sensor, is assigned and which then triggers a tensile force on the tension member 16, for example by releasing a tensioned spring. Thus, as indicated in FIG. 2, a tensioned tension spring 21 can be released by a device 22 that only responds in the event of a crash and then releases the locking of the spring 21 , so that it can exert a pulling force indicated by the arrow on the tension member 16 ; this in turn results in the movement of the insert bodies 9 and 11 (see FIG. 1) in the downward direction and thus the effect of the rolling bodies 8 and 13 as clamping bodies.
As this description of the exemplary embodiments shown in the figures also shows, the invention not only offers the advantageous possibility of different parts, like that Traction element and the device for exerting tensile forces in the event of a crash, both Clamping devices, namely for inclination and height adjustment, together assign, but requires if tubular support rods for the headrest Find use, even very little space outside one of the handrails.
