Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for level measurement as well as a Level measuring device.
When monitoring industrial processes is the detection essential when a certain level is in a tank is exceeded or fallen below. So-called Point level switch used. Are known to the border level procedures that affect the version, for example swimmers or ka capacitive probes. Non-contact process with light barriers are also possible. However, these need two measurements put. In addition, there are now level limits switches known according to the radar principle, in which a transmission Setting up radar pulses towards the product surface Filling material inside a container radiates. A reception device detects the reflective surface of the product ten radar signals and determines the time difference instantaneous height of the product surface. An example for such a measuring method is described in DE 42 34 300 A1. A radar sensor is installed in the tank roof, which detects a modu radar signal. The reflect from the product The radar signal is finally demodulated in the radar receiver liert. The sensor delivers a low-frequency sensor measurement signal that reports whether the specified limit level, the to monitor, is reached or not.
Problematic with these measuring methods, in which the barrel time of electromagnetic waves in centimeters and deci meter range is the clear recognition of the useful echo signal in the reflected radar signal. The Erken These useful echo signals are difficult to get through False echo signals are superimposed. Such false echo signals occur in particular when using the methods mentioned Level of flowable or pourable media in containers should be determined. Tank internals, when filling bulk cones that form as well as buildup of fillings on the Container wall and / or on the transmitter or receiver lead to Disorders of the echo pulse, so that the transit time between Transmit and echo pulse no longer determined accurately and reliably can be.
For reliable detection of the received radar signals and of the useful echo contained therein is to be found in EP 340953 B1 described a distance measuring method in which a Model signal that a predetermined level, the Er reach or fall below is a target Signal or model signal is assigned. This model signal can, for example, by a previous test measurement be averaged. This target or stored in a memory The model signal is in measurement mode with the received radarsi gnal compared and correlated. Do the saved ones Target or model signal and the received radar signal far agreeing, this is a sign that the detection level is reached.
A similar process is also known from DE 42 23 346 C2 Ren known for non-contact level measurement. Indeed is done using parallel data processing techniques and an associative comparison of the received radar signal with previously learned and stored in the neural network an even better evaluation of the received signal patterns NEN radar signal enables.
DE 44 31 886 A1 describes a method and a device for level measurement using microwave signals be knows in which a frequency-stepped microwave signal via an antenna is forwarded and after reflection on one Receive the product surface again and with the frequency step th microwave signal is mixed and processed.
The antenna can have a short vertical profile and outside of an internal tank atmosphere.
Dadurch soll eine ungewollte Übersteuerung bei starken Empfangsimpulsen vermie den und damit die Dynamik des Korrelationsempfangs verbessert werden.DE 42 33 677 A1 describes a method for receiving correlation disclosed by previously known periodically transmitted pulses, in the place of a multiplier or mixer an identi with only one multiplier of this device shear multiplier is connected. This is supposed to Avoid unwanted overdrive with strong reception impulses and thus improves the dynamics of correlation reception become.
Finally, DE 42 40 491 C2 describes a method for filling level measurement known, in which the target or model signal not over before the actual measuring processes Test measurements is generated, but via internally in the emp catching device provided delay circuits. All of the above methods have in common that the Correlation result evaluated via a threshold value detection becomes. Is the correlation product between received Ra Darsignal and model signal over a given voltage value (threshold), the limit switch reports this Closing or opening a relay contact. Advantage at the Using a correlation with other evaluation ver driving is that no special requirements for the modu the radar signal, such as the linearity, must be asked.
The basic principle of the aforementioned radar methods for Level measurement consists in summary that the Ra darsignal is sent to a radar measuring section and there experiences a delay. At the same time the sent Ra darsignal also in a model range, for example, by a delay line can be formed, delayed. The Delay of the internal model route corresponds to the run time of the radar signal, if just the one to be detected Limit level, for example the specified level, occurs. The received radar signal, which is due to the Represent the duration of the useful echo portion of the level tiert, and the model signal are correlated with each other. Are the runtime in the model signal and the runtime of the True echo component in the received radar signal, so ent the correlation result holds a maximum value. This State can be detected with a threshold detector, a switching device according to the correlation result device, for example a relay contact, opens or closes.
Problematic with the known methods described above for level measurement is the fact that in the previous correlations performed the phase of the received radar signals can falsify the measurement result.
Hier setzt die vorliegende Erfindung an.This is where the present invention comes in.
The aim of the invention is the previously known methods for level measurement, in which the received radar signal is correlated with a model signal so as to improve that the phase of the received radar signal has no influence has more on the measurement result. In addition to a procedure a suitable device can also be specified.
This goal is achieved through a process with the characteristics of Claim 1 and by a device with the features of Claim 12 solved.
Further developments of the invention are the subject of the Unteran claims.
The invention is essentially based on a com plexivalent correlation between received radar signal and Perform model signal. The complex valued correlation compared to a real-valued correlation Advantage that the correlation voltage is not out of phase of the received radar signal.
In one embodiment of the invention, the model signal in a signal path with one from the received radar signal derived in-phase signal and in the other signal path with ei quadrature derived from the received radar signal phase signal multiplied and then the root out the two squares of amounts. Expediently the result is low-pass filtered.
These building blocks are com commercially available, so we won't go into it here needs to be.
Alternatively, the received radar signal can also be real valuable if the model signal com plexwertig is provided.
In principle, it is possible to convert the model signal into a To reproduce the internal model route using delay lines the. It is also possible to change the model signal by previous ones Teach in test measurement at the desired tank level.
The model signal can, for example, be in a digital memory memory module (EPROM, EEPROM). At the late Ren level detection is the model signal at each Ra Representation read out from memory at the same time, analog digitally converted and finally the model signal and that received radar signal correlated with each other.
In a further development it is provided that the The corresponding limit level is electronically adjustable. This can lead to Teach in an example obtained from test measurements tem model signal happen that the memory chip is read at different clock rates. It exists thereby a direct proportional relationship between the target level and clock rate. When using like which can be written on, such as EEPROM different limit levels can be selected. The advantage when teaching the model signal is that non-ideal measurement conditions practically hardly influences the measurement result ha ben.
In a further embodiment of the invention, a digi tal modulation of the radar signal used. In this case is the delay of the model signal by an electro nisch adjustable, digital delay line reached.
Es zeigen:The method according to the invention and the associated device device is described in the following in connection with two figures explained. Show it:

Fig. 2 shows the correlator of Fig. 1 in more detail.
The block diagram shown in FIG. 1 shows an oscillator 10 , the output signal of which is fed to a model section 21 and a measuring section 22 . In the measuring section 22 , a transmitting and receiving device 26 is arranged, which emits good radar beams in the direction of the product surface of a filling filled in a container 28 and receives the radar beams reflected by the product surface again. The received radar signal E is fed to a correlator 20 which compares this received radar signal E with a model signal M. This model signal M can be provided internally, as shown in FIG. 1, by delay lines 25 which delay the output signal of the oscillator 10 in a predetermined manner. The delay time of the delay element 25 is dimensioned such that this corresponds to the received radar signal at the level of the product to be monitored in the container 28 . Instead of generating the model signal M electronically internally, it is also possible to provide it by one or more test measurements on the container 28 . In these test measurements, the product height must be as high as the product height to be monitored later.
The output of the correlator 20 , which according to the invention is a complex-value correlator, is connected to a threshold value detector 30 and a switching device 40 connected downstream.
The operation of the circuit arrangement shown in Fig. 1 is as follows. The oscillator 10 sends out a control signal, for example a ramp-shaped control signal. Other types of modulation of the oscillator 10 are also possible. The radar signal is transmitted by the transmitting and receiving device 26 in the direction of the filling material in the container 28 and experiences a delay there. At the same time, the radar signal is delayed in the model section 21 . The delay in the model section 21 corresponds to the transit time of the radar signal when the level to be detected in the container 28 is given by the filling material. The received radar signal E and the model signal M are correlated in the correlator 20 . If the running time of the model section 21 and the measuring section 22 match, the correlation result at the output of the correlator 20 receives a DC offset. This state is recognized by the threshold value detector 30 , which actuates the switching device 40 .
In order to get the correlation result at the output of the correlator 20 independent of the phase of the received radar signal E, the correlator 20 is designed as a complex-value correlator. As can be seen in FIG. 2, this can be achieved with a circuit arrangement which has a computing unit 23 to which output signals from two multipliers 24 , 27 are fed. The first multiplier 24 , for example, the received radar signal E and the + 45 ° phase shifted model signal M is supplied. This + 45 ° phase-shifted model signal is designated by the reference symbol MI and represents the in-phase signal for the first multiplier 24. The second multiplier 27 also receives the received radar signal E. As a quadrature-phase signal MQ, this second multiplier 27 becomes the Model signal M shifted in phase by -45 °. In the computing unit 23 , the amount square is first formed from the multiplication products of the two multipliers 24 , 27 and the two amount squares are added. In addition, the root is formed from the sum of the two squares of amounts. The result is an output signal from the computing unit 23 , which is independent of the phase of the received radar signal E.
The output signal of the computing unit 23 is preferably supplied to the threshold detector 30 via a low-pass filter 50 . The output of the threshold detector 30 is, as already mentioned, connected to the switching device 40 .
As also shown in FIG. 2, it is also possible to supply the received radar signal E with complex value to the multipliers 24 , 27 instead of the model signal M. In this case, the multiplier 24 is supplied with the received radar signal E phase-shifted by + 45 °. This received by 45 ° phasenver received radar signal is designated by the reference symbol EI. The multiplier 24 receives the real input model signal M as a second input signal. The multiplier 27 also receives the real value model signal M as input signal and the received radar signal, which is phase-shifted by -45 °, is designated as EQ as the second input signal. The in-phase signal EI is in this case formed by the + 45 ° phase-shifted received radar signal E and the quadrature phase signal EQ by the -45 ° phase-shifted radar signal E. It is essential that the in-phase signal EI and the quadrature-phase signal EQ are phase-shifted from one another by 90 °. The same applies to the previously presented embodiment with the in-phase signal MI and the quadrature phase signal MQ.
