Abstract

The complete beehive, inhabited by a colony of bees, is placed in a heated box for a period of three hours. The heat should be kept within certain limits and is controlled by a thermostat. This method ensures, that not only the mites, clinging to the bee's body, but also the mites in parts of the hive or inside the broodcells are killed. An opening, positioned at the bottom, facilitates ventilation.

Description

The device I developed ensures that the mites at a temperature of 40 ° C be killed, but the bees are not harmed.

The construction (see exemplary embodiment according to the system) ensures that a there is sufficient air supply for the bees.

Because the complete beehive is inserted into the device, not only the Mites of bees, but also those in the brood and beehive killed.

As can be seen in the exemplary embodiment, the temperature at different measuring points recorded to ensure that no temperature rise can occur.

An overtemperature thermostat of 41 ° C will switch off the control if it fails Heat supply stopped immediately.

The advantages achieved with this invention are that without chemicals and toxins the bees are freed from the Varoa mite.

Claims (1)

Control of the Varoa mite in bee colonies by targeted heat treatment, characterized by a heat supply controlled by an electronic thermostat at a constant temperature of 40 ° C ± 0.5 ° in a closed housing over a period of 3 hours.
