Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for the production of hollow, bowl-shaped or flat Plastic molded parts with low weight but higher Strength. Such lightweight components are such. B. for sports devices used in the furniture and vehicle industries. As selected, concrete product examples for hollow parts to mention fishing rods, tennis rackets and tube racks. Exemplary surface parts are seat shells for sledges and chairs or covers for ventilation equipment The method used is to be assigned to that genus where the product blank inserted in a mold is pressed against the inner wall of the mold and receives its permanent shape through exposure to heat. The The outer contour of the finished product becomes essential Lich determined by the internal geometry of the mold.
For mass production of molded plastic parts Injection molding and transfer molding are probably the most widespread Tet and applicable efficiently. For elongated, thin-walled But hollow parts are very expensive, and the molds the manufacturing process, especially because of the necessary Demolding, turns out to be complicated, so here soon to the limits of what is technologically possible and economically sensible.
For elongated, thin-walled hollow parts, therefore a Developed a process in which one can stretch Composite stocking - this is the thermoplastic material material for the finished product - via a PTFE hose pulls. This composite is opened in one Forming tool inserted, the inner contour of the outer contour of the finished workpiece. Then that will be closed mold in an oven on z. B. 270 ° C he heats and the PTFE hose z. B. with an internal pressure of Inflated 5 bar. In this process, the composite pressed stocking against the inner wall of the mold and the composite fabric melted from the heat. After far As the mold cools down, the finished, Remove dimensionally stable product. Depending on the product type and Further treatment will be the inside of the PTFE tube if possible leave the finished product or pull it out.
However, there are still a lot left in this manufacturing process There are serious disadvantages that make the application possible limits productivity and economic efficiency. First, there are high tool costs. Due to the independent essential heating of the mold in an oven must it be made of metal, so that its manufacture is considerable causes costs. Is produced at a rotary table, you have to use several molds to - in addition to the Loading and emptying the molds - especially in the Cycle the heating up and down required on each mold to bridge the cooling phase. Operation of the furnace and the necessary heating of the previously cooled molds every subsequent manufacturing cycle causes high energy costs. You also have to on the metallic inner wall of the molding tool apply a release agent to the adhesive to prevent the melted composite fabric. This step too - with additional material and Time required - makes the entire production more expensive. Finally, the shaping for the finished product due to the relatively low elasticity of the used PTFE hose clearly limited.
From JP-B2-2 556 256 is a device for the manufacture development of elongated, hollow products known with of some energy saving by avoiding it large ovens should be possible. An induction ring, which the closed mold radially in one section there is successively over the entire length of the molding stuff driven. In this way you heat the metallic Mold tool by zone. The one in the mold with Internal pressure pressed against the inner wall of the mold Thermoplastic prepreg is thus also zoned melted and receives its permanent contour. With the This device you like re the effort for an oven reduce and possibly save energy, but all others the aforementioned disadvantages remain.
Given the imperfections highlighted to date existing methods and devices for relevan here ten purpose, the invention is based on the object improved procedure and to carry out this procedure propose suitable molding tools. The goal here is to increase the equipment and overall manufacturing costs lower while increasing productivity and to expand the formal possibilities. In particular What matters is the cost of the molds and significantly reduce energy consumption.
The principle of the process is based on the fact that an electrical conductive thermoplastic composite with a Fiber matrix - briefly referred to as composite fabric - in one Mold is heated conductively or inductively and after a cooling / solidification phase the mold as out hardened product is removable. The mold is there preferably made of electrically non-conductive plastic a heat-resistant front structure, preferably made of silicone, which is the heated composite fabric from the rest of the mold shields.
fahrensschritten:
The production of hollow bodies takes place in the following process steps:
Via an inflatable tube, preferably a sili hose, becomes an electrically conductive composite pulled stocking. A CFRP composite (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) requires no further preparation tion, since this is already electrically conductive. At Use of GRP composite (glass fiber reinforced Plastic) the conductivity by adding electrically conductive particles, e.g. B. steel chips, produced.
2. The composite of hose and composite stocking is placed in the non-electrically conductive mold and closes the mold.
The stocking becomes conductive or inductive by putting it on heated by an electrical voltage. With the inductive Heating is in the mold along the extension of the product to be manufactured intended.
The tube is inflated, e.g. B. with 5 bar compressed air, so that the tube increases in volume Composite stocking against the inner contour of the mold presses, which melts at the same time thermoplastic.
- 5. Der Erhitzungsstrom wird abgeschaltet.5. The heating current is switched off.
After a solidification / cooling phase, the molding stuff opened and the so far finished, hardened Taken product. Before that, you leave the brought in Compressed air escape.
With low-resistance deposits - e.g. B. made of sheet steel - which in are arranged on the inner walls of the mold and with come into contact with the inserted composite fabric, the essential current flow in some areas via the deposits leads. So these areas are not heated, plastifi do not adorn and do not harden, so that their original flexibility is retained.
Thanks to the invention, hollow, bowl-shaped can now and manufacture flat products based on composite where with the tool costs and the energy requirement essential diminish. Short heating up and cooling down times are possible Chen a manufacturing process with short cycle times. At Use of silicone for the front of the mold and for the hose - necessary when producing hollow bodies len - the additional application of Release agents. The elastic silicone hose allows one greater freedom in design than the previously used PTFE tubes. This leads to a resource gentle and environmentally friendly production with erwei options.
The method also opens up the uncomplicated generation of different cross-sections and wall thicknesses products, which ent ent optimization speaking of the differentiated load values can perform. E.g. with free-swinging bases chairs can be dimensioned to suit the flow of power tion, so that there is also scope for design expanded. The partial leaving of flexible areas there are advantages within the cured composite fabric for numerous applications. On a back or seat scha le for a chair you can use an integrated, flexible, Provide a non-hardened area that will serve as padding is usable. The previous effort is then eliminated for attaching the upholstery to the chair frame. With such flexible areas can be moved connections - similar to a film hinge - between molded parts put.

An electrically conductive composite stocking 30 is pulled over an inflatable, at least largely gas-tight tube 20 , preferably a silicone tube. The composite of hose 20 and overlaid composite stocking 30 is inserted into the hollow mold 8 of the already closed mold 1 . On the end face 5 , the hose 20 is closed, on the end face 4, however, open for the connection of compressed gas. The composite stocking 30 preferably consists of a CFRP composite fabric (carbon fiber reinforced plastic), which is already electrically conductive due to its integrated carbon fibers and therefore requires no further preparation. If you use a GRP composite fabric (glass fiber reinforced plastic), its conductivity is increased by adding electrically conductive particles, e.g. B. steel chips, Herge has been. The two ends 31 , 32 of the composite stocking 30 are each in contact with a contact point 6 , 7 . This is advantageous when closing the two tool parts 2 , 3 by clamping the composite stocking 30 in a clamping points 11 , 12 , which are located on the end faces 4 , 5 , the. With the fixation of the composite of hose 20 and composite stocking 30 in the clamping points 11 , 12 , the positionally correct, permanent arrangement in the molding tool 1 is guaranteed during the manufacturing process.
After the mold 1 has been closed , the voltage U is applied, and the current flow 1 from the first contact point 6 , lengthwise through the composite stocking 30 , to the second contact point 7 begins. Conductive heating begins in the composite stocking 30 . With continued conductive heating of the composite stocking 30 from the outside - here from the end face 4 - the inside of the hose 20 with compressed gas G - preferably air - filled, z. B. applies a pressure p 5 bar.
The current flow 1 is maintained, so that the conductive heating of the composite stocking 30 increases further. With the successive supply of pressurized gas G, the hose 20 inflates until the hollow mold 8 is completely filled and the composite stocking 30 is pressed against the inner walls 9 of the tool parts 2 , 3 . The composite stocking 30 follows the expansion caused from the inside, the thermoplastic composite fabric melting and plasticizing under the action of heat. If the front structure 10 and the hose 20 consists of a material with good separation properties, such as z. B. has silicone, one can waive the use of additionally applied release agent ver. The plasticized composite fabric does not stick to the inner walls 9 or to the hose 20 .
The current flow 1 is switched off. After a cooling / He rigidification phase, the introduced pressure gas G is allowed to give way. The mold 1 can be opened and the product X so far finished - here in the form of a now hardened hollow body - can be removed. Now you can also pull the hose 20 out of the interior of the product X and possibly even reuse it. In order to save the work of removing the hose 20 , depending on the type of product X, its use and further processing, the hose 20 could also be left in the product x.
This sequence of figures includes the production of a hollow body pers made of composite fabric, which is heated inductively.
Der Verbund aus gasdichtem Schlauch 20 und übergezogenem elektrisch leitfä higem Compositstrumpf 30 liegt in der Hohlform 108 des ge schlossenen Formwerkzeugs 101.The mold 101 shown also has the two tool parts 102 , 103 with the end faces 104 , 105 and the clamping points 111 , 112 . The tool parts 102 , 103 are in turn made of electrically non-conductive material, e.g. B. plastic. Inside is the hollow mold 108 , which is delimited by the inner walls 109 . Deviating from the previous embodiment, the tool parts 102 , 103 contain induction lines 113 which extend along the heat-resistant front structure 110 . The contact points 106 , 107 are now the points where the power lines are connected to the induction lines 113 . In the operating state, a high-frequency AC voltage U∼ is applied, so that an induction current I causes the heating of the composite stocking 30 . The composite of gas-tight hose 20 and coated electrically conductive composite stocking 30 lies in the hollow mold 108 of the closed mold 101 .
After closing the mold 101 , the voltage U is applied, and the current flow 1 through the induction lines 113 begins. Inductive heating begins in the composite stocking 30 . The inside of the hose 20 is filled with compressed gas G from the end face 104 .
The inductive heating of the composite stocking 30 increases and with the successive supply of compressed gas G, the hose 20 and the composite stocking 30 inflate until the hollow shape 108 is completely filled and the composite stocking 30 is pressed against the inner walls 109 of the tool parts 102 , 103 . The thermoplastic composite fabric plasticizes under the influence of heat.
The current flow 1 is interrupted and after a cooling / He rigging phase, the introduced pressurized gas G can escape. After the mold 101 has been opened, the product X which has been fully cured in this respect - also here a hollow body as an example - can be removed.
This sequence of figures includes the manufacture of a bowl elements made of composite fabric, which is conductively heated.
The molding tool 201 has the two tool parts 202 , 203 with the end faces 204 , 205 and the clamping points 211 , 212 . The tool parts 202 , 203 are also made of electrically non-conductive material. In the mold 201 be there is the hollow mold 208 , which is delimited by the inner walls 209 . In a departure from the previous exemplary embodiments, the hollow mold 208 is now flat in accordance with the shell element to be produced. An electrical contact point 206 , 207 is located on the outside of the end faces 204 , 205 of the tool parts 202 , 203 . In the area of the hollow mold 208 is again a heat-resistant derbau 210 is provided. Power lines lead to the electrical contact points 206 , 207 , so that one can switch on a voltage U- in the operating state and a current I flows. Between the tool parts 202 , 203 , a flat electrically conductive composite fabric 300 is inserted into the hollow mold 208 and held in the clamping points 211 , 212 . The two ends 331 , 332 of the composite fabric 300 are each in contact with a contact point 206 , 207 .
The two tool parts 202 , 203 are pressed together and the voltage U- is applied, so that a current I flows through the composite fabric 300 and causes its conductive heating. By pressing the tool parts 202 , 203 together , the composite fabric 300 has already applied to the inner walls 209 .
The heating of the thermoplastic composite fabric 300 , which rests against the shaping inner walls 209 of the compressed tool parts 202 , 203 , increases, whereupon the composite fabric 300 plastifies under the action of heat.
The current flow 1 is interrupted. After a cooling / hardening phase, the mold 201 is opened and the product X which has been fully cured in this respect - now a shell element - can be removed.
A flexible portion 40 within the x th product to preserver of the electrically conductive composite fabric 300 is a highly conductive insert 41 wherein the conductively heated mold 201 - z. B. a sheet steel segment - seen before. This insert 41 is inserted into one of the tool parts 202 , 203 in the front structure 210 such that it comes into contact with the composite fabric 300 . In relation to the low-resistance insert 41 , the composite fabric 300 has a high resistance. According to Kirchhoff's current distribution law, when a voltage U is applied, the predominant part of the current I flows through the insert 41 and not through the region 40 of the composite fabric 300 located under the insert 41 . Melting and plasticizing of the composite fabric 300 in the area 40 of the insert 41 are thus avoided, while the entire remaining composite fabric 300 is plasticized and cured by the conductively developed heat.
After switching off the current flow 1 and He will congealing phase of a cooling / open the mold 201 and the far-finished product X - here a shell element - is removable, said complementary to the insert 41 portion 40 to its original Fle has maintained xibility in the composite fabric 300th
Zu den vorbeschriebenen Vorrichtungen sind weitere kon
struktive Variationen realisierbar. Hier ausdrücklich er
wähnt seien noch:
In addition to the devices described above, con structive variations can be realized. Here he expressly mentions:
Instead of the conductive heating in the molding tool 201 for the production of bowl-shaped products X, induction lines can also be provided here and in this way induction-induced plasticization and curing of the composite fabric 300 can be achieved.
Hierfür kommen sowohl Hohlkörper, Schalenelemente als auch flächige Erzeugnisse in Betracht.- Flexible areas 40 in a heat-molded into a rigid product X composite fabric 30 , 300 can be produced in a variety of contours, in marginal zones or within the tissue. Both hollow bodies, shell elements and flat products come into consideration for this.
If one uses metallic molds 1 , 101 , 201 in the conductive heating, ie at least with a metal front structure 10 , 110 , 210 , then one can design the inner contour of the two tool parts 2 , 3 ; 102 , 103 ; 202 , 203 cut out areas 40 through which a minimum current I may flow, the local heat development of which, however, is not sufficient to plasticize the composite fabric 30 , 300 . Such a molding tool causes higher tool costs and requires the use of release agents, so that this alternative will only be used for special products.
