Diese Flachfeder drückt eine Kunststoffkugel aus der Öffnung des Röhrchens, zur Hälfte (bis zum Anschlag), hervor. Die Öffnung des Röhrchens, hat einen etwas kleineren Durchmesser als die Kugel. Der Innenraum des Röhrchens hat einen, etwas größeren Durchmesser als die Kugel. Die Kugel läßt sich in das Röhrchen hinein drücken und wird von der Flachfeder wieder zur Hälfte rausgedrückt. Auf diese Art entsteht eine Federwirkung. Das andere Ende des Röhrchens ist geschlossen. An diesem geschlossenem Ende, befindet sich ein Retentionssteg. Dieser Ketentionssteg, der oral aus der Prothese heraus ragt, dient zur fixierung des Federankers beim Ausbrühen in der Küvette. Beim Ausarbeiten der Prothese wird der heraus ragende Retentionssteg mit der Prothesenoberfläche plangeschliffen. Die Anbringung des Federankers geschieht wie folgt: Der Federanker wird an der Aproximalflache, unter der untersich gehenden Stelle des natürlichen Zahnes angebracht. Die heraus ragende Kugel liegt an dieser Stelle an. Der Retentionssteg zeigt nach oral. Die Vorteile dieses Federankers liegen darin, daß partielle Prothesen, auch Stahlprothesen ohne Metallklammern im Munde einen festen Halt finden.
