Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for the calibration of Beam scanning devices and a device for Implementation of such a procedure. In particular The invention relates to a method for calibrating a Control for deflecting one for beam scanning used laser beam.
Beam scanners have in the uncalibrated Condition is insufficient for practical use Positioning accuracy; The reasons for this are unavoidable Manufacturing tolerances as well as electromechanical and electro-optical non-linearities of the overall device. It is therefore necessary to use these scanners calibrate. In a known from DE 44 37 284 A1 Calibration procedure is done by irradiating a light sensitive film with the laser beam at predetermined Positions creates a test image, which is then created using a video camera or a pixel scanner is scanned. By comparing the scanned test image with reference Data are correction data for the control of the laser determined. This known method is because of the minor Resolution of the test image and the difficult positioning the film is unsuitable for high-precision calibrations; further the adjustment of the film is cumbersome.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a method and a device of the type mentioned above to improve that it or she can be used easily and universally is increased calibration accuracy and therefore also in the high-precision area at low cost is usable.
This object is achieved by a method with the features of claim 1 or a device with the Features of claim 10 solved.
The main feature of the invention is the markings provided, for example in the form of line grids or other structures with high precision in the surface can be etched or scratched. The position of this Marks are detected by the beam, for example a laser beam on the markings reflected reflected from the surrounding surface becomes. So there is always a change in the reflec radiation detected when the laser beam is just on a marking or line hits. So that's it the state of the art no longer required Generate test pattern with the laser beam; rather the comparison of the position of the laser beam directly with the existing markings.
As shown in FIG. 1, a beam scanning device 1 has a laser source 2 which emits a laser beam 3 . The laser beam 3 is guided via a light modulator 4 and an expansion optics 5 into a scanning head 6 , in which it is directed as a deflected beam 9 onto a working plane 10 via two rotatable mirrors 7 , 8 . A controller 11 controls the position of the mirrors 7 , 8 such that they deflect the laser beam 9 to any desired position on the working plane 10 .
A calibration device 12 has a calibration plate 13 , for example in the form of a glass plate, which is arranged in or slightly above or below the working plane 10 and parallel to it. The extent of the calibration plate 13 corresponds approximately to the size of the working areas of the laser beam in the working plane 10 , for example 100 mm × 100 mm.
Markings 14 are provided on the calibration plate 13 ; in the exemplary embodiment shown, these consist of an orthogonal grid structure in the form of an XY coordinate grid which is etched into the surface of the calibration plate 13 . Alternatively, this structure can also be produced, for example, also applied, by scratching the grating lines or by lines produced photolithographically or using mask technology. Furthermore, the calibration plate 13 can also consist of metal or another suitable carrier material for the markings 14 instead of glass.
The calibration device 12 further comprises a detector device 15 with two (or another suitable number of) photosensors 16 , 17 , which are each arranged laterally above the working plane such that they detect radiation diffusely reflected by the grating structure 14 . The two photosensors 16 , 17 are connected to the controller 11 .
gezeigt. Die Markierungen bestehen aus einem äquidistanten
XY-Koordinatenraster 14 mit einer Periode p, einer Linien
breite t2 und einem Linienabstand t1. Das Tastverhältnis
ist also t=t1/t2. Vorzugsweise ist t1<<t2. Der diffuse
Reflexionsfaktor der Gitterlinien ist rd2 und im Bereich
zwischen den Linien rd1<rd2. Der Laserstrahl 9 wird von der
Steuerung 11 durch entsprechendes Schwenken der Spiegel 7, 8
im Abtastkopf durch Steursignale schrittweise mit einer
Schrittweite w entlang der in Fig. 3 dargestellten Gerade
18 in X-Richtung bewegt.
Schrittweite der Steuerung w: 2 µmThe operation of the calibration device shown in FIG. 1 will be described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3. FIG. 2 above shows a section through the calibration plate 13 with the markings 14 provided thereon along the section line II-II shown in FIG. 3. The markings consist of an equidistant XY coordinate grid 14 with a period p, a line width t2 and a line spacing t1. The duty cycle is therefore t = t1 / t2. Preferably t1 << t2. The diffuse reflection factor of the grating lines is rd2 and in the area between the lines rd1 <rd2. The laser beam 9 is moved by the controller 11 by correspondingly pivoting the mirrors 7 , 8 in the scanning head by control signals step by step with a step width w along the straight line 18 shown in FIG. 3 in the X direction. The laser beam in position A first sweeps an intermediate line region with the reflection factor rd1, the photosensors 16 , 17 detecting a low intensity I1 due to the low reflection factor. When subsequently scanning a grating line 14 in position B, a higher intensity I2 of the reflected radiation is detected by the photosensors 16 , 17 due to the higher reflection rd2 there, which drops back to the value I1 when the laser beam 9 occurs on the next inter-grating region. The exact actual position of the laser beam on the grating line is determined from the detected intensity profile of the reflected radiation, for example by determining the maximum, and is compared in the controller 11 with the control signal xn (for example in the form of a number of steps w) specified for this point as the desired signal. From this comparison, a correction value is determined for the point xn and stored in the controller 11 .
Distance of the grid lines t1: 920 µm
Control step w: 2 µm
In FIG. 5 another embodiment of the invention is shown which differs from that of FIG. 1 is different only in that the photosensors 16, 17 are arranged below the calibration plate and the reflection instead of the different transmission of the laser beam at the marks 14 and the other Capture area. In this embodiment, the calibration plate 13 must, of course, be at least partially transparent to radiation at least in the area of either the marking 14 or the area in between. According to a further modification (not shown), in particular if the laser source 2 is very powerful, a pilot laser of lower power can be installed in the device 1 , the beam of which is coupled into the optics in front of the scanning head 6 for calibration.
Fig. 6 shows a modified embodiment of the Kali brierplatte, in which at the individually defined measuring points xi, yi depressions 19 are formed in the material. Because of these drops, a different reflection factor for the laser radiation is again obtained there. The calibration is again carried out by moving to these individual measuring points in rows or columns and storing the corresponding correction values in the controller 11 .
Are shown in Fig. 7 schematically illustrates a further modified embodiment of the invention, incised at the calibration plate 13 'markings or line pattern 14' with a triangular cross-sectional shape or etched. This results in a pronounced peak of the intensity profile when moving the laser beam in the direction of arrow 20 in the lines shown in FIG. 7 below, so that the position of the lines and thus the correction values can be detected with high accuracy.
After calibration, a workpiece is introduced into the working area of the beam scanning device 1 instead of the calibration plate 13 . This workpiece is advantageously provided with markings at precisely defined locations, for example two diagonally opposite positions. These markings are detected by the beam scanning device and compared with the associated corrected control data. This calibrates the calibrated field of control data to the actual position of the workpiece, which considerably reduces the requirements for the positioning of the workpiece. Furthermore, the control data can also be scaled by comparison with a known distance between the markings.
The method described above is carried out on a number of calibration points distributed over the entire area of the calibration plate 13 . For example, in the manner shown in FIG. 4, starting from a starting point S, the laser beam is first moved in the X direction until a first x correction value at a first position x0, where the laser beam detects the first grating line extending in the Y direction is determined. The laser beam is then moved in the Y direction until it reaches the first grating line extending in the X direction. The first y correction value for position y0 is determined there. Both correction values are then stored for the position x0, y0. The controller 11 then moves the laser beam again in the X direction to the second grating line with subsequent deflection in the Y direction to determine the correction values for the position x1, y0. In this way, all crossing points of the grid 14 are approached in the first line; The laser beam then moves to the second line and there determines the correction values at all intersection points, etc. Correction values for coordinates between these intersection points are subsequently determined by interpolation or other theoretical averaging methods and are also stored in the control system or during the subsequent beam scanning, for example processing a Workpiece, calculated online.
After approaching all crossing points, the calibration plate 13 can be removed by means of a device (not shown), for example a folding or swiveling device. The laser beam can then move to any position by means of the correction values of the control signals stored for this position.
If the working plane 10 of the laser beam lies above the calibration plate 13 , this can also remain in the beam scanning device 1 . This reduces possible positioning errors of the plate 13 when it is inserted into the device 1 or when it is introduced into the calibration position.
Breite der Gitterlinie t2: 80 µmOf course, with a lower reflection factor of the grating lines, an intensity minimum can also be determined. It is important that the width t1 is considerably larger than the line width t2 and that the reflection factor rd2 of the lines differs significantly from that of the intermediate line regions. Furthermore, the step size w of the control must be considerably smaller than the focus diameter of the laser. The following useful values result for a focus diameter of the laser beam 9 of approximately 35 μm:
Period p of the grating: 1000 µm
Width of the grid line t2: 80 µm
