Description
The present invention relates to a solar generator, best consisting of a large number of solar cells and one carrier structure and other features according to the preamble of Claim 1, for use in satellites and in particular in Communications satellites. Such a solar generator goes out DE 28 40 807 B1.
Satellites need a continuous supply of energy in order to perform their tasks without problems over a long period of time can. To obtain the necessary electrical energy Solar generators used. These consist of solar cells that are attached to suitable support structures. Suitable meaning Tet that the support structures easily the occurring Loads adjusted, compatible with the solar cell material and yet are inexpensive.
Solar generators for satellites must be specified during a a period of the order of 10 to 12 years Provide electrical power that is as constant as possible. Therefore solar cells made of silicon or galli are particularly suitable umarsenide on a light structure. The support structure tur in turn must have certain properties in order to others Components of the satellite, such as antennas, tanks, orbit tracking systems, etc. not negatively influenced.
To the main mechanical loads that occur during the start gangs occur to survive undamaged, the structure be designed for vibrations such as those at 30 times Gravitational acceleration (30 g) occur. An additional mechani cal load is caused by the sound pressure, which under the aerodynamic fairing of the missile tip due to the Noise from the rocket engines arises at launch. Most dangerous areas of lightweight support structures are in this load case sandwich components with extremely thin cover skins.
The functio will be a few minutes after the successful start the satellite while it is in a low position towards Earth's orbit. Before the news satellite in the transition path to the geostationary path by means of an engine ignition, the solar generator is deployed. The usual usually two wings, the length of which can be up to 12 m, are an inert mass, which when igniting and switching off the Sa tellite engine a bending load for the support structure caused. In orbit, there are only loads Temperature fluctuations.
Because the lowest possible weight, especially for aircraft of a solar generator plays an essential role fiber composites that have a significantly higher spec fish strength and rigidity than any metallic work have fabrics.
Laminates made of high-modulus fibers in the form of a sandwich construction are particularly suitable for obtaining a support structure that is as stiff and light as possible. The basic structure of a sandwich construction that serves as a support structure for the solar cells for a communications satellite is shown in FIG. 1. Improved support structures, which are already able to absorb larger mechanical loads, are shown in FIGS. 2 and 3.
The above-mentioned DE 28 40 807 B1 shows a sandwich panel that be with solar cells can be laid to form a solar generator for satellites. The well-known sandwich panel has a honeycomb core that is between an upper and a lower cover layer is arranged. There is one between the honeycomb core and the outer layers Reinforcement plate arranged. Force introduction elements serve for recording and uniform distribution of a point initiated load.
It was found that the main mechanical Loads on the support structure on the one hand from vibrations in the Frequency range from 30 Hz to 100 Hz exist while the out the stresses resulting from the sound pressure in a Fre frequency range from 150 Hz to 500 Hz. The demands conditions from the sound pressure at the start of the rocket rise with the Dimensions of the solar generator strongly and therefore limit his size. They also generate vibrations and sound resulting deformations damage the sensitive solar cells.

Die Tragestruktur hat einen Wabenkern aus Aluminium mit Versteifungselementen.US 4,394,529 shows a support structure for solar cells for Sa telliten, where u. a. Vibration related problems are addressed. The support structure has a honeycomb core Aluminum with stiffening elements.
In "Guidance and Control 1996, Vol. 92; Advances in the Astro nautical Sciences", San Diego, CA, USA, 1996, S. 531-544, sind Panels für Satelliten beschrieben, an deren Oberfläche Dämp fungsschichten angeordnet sind.In "Guidance and Control 1996, Vol. 92; Advances in the Astro nautical sciences ", San Diego, CA, USA, 1996, pp. 531-544 Described panels for satellites, on the surface of which damper tion layers are arranged.
The object of the invention is to create a solar generator, the significantly higher loads that occur when starting the rake to transport the night equipped with the solar generator orbiting satellites in Earth's orbit and in particular vibrations in the frequency range from 30 Hz to 100 Hz and sound pressure in the frequency range from 150 Hz to 500 Hz withstands better than conventional solar generators.
Starting from a solar generator, as in the preamble of Claim 1 is defined in more detail, the solution this task with in the characterizing part of claim 1 specified features; advantageous embodiments are in the Subclaims described.
Durch die erfindungsgemäss vorgesehenen Dämpfungselemente, die in die wabenförmige Zellstruktur zwischen den beiden Deckhäuten eingeklebt sind, erhält man eine erheblich höhere Widerstands fähigkeit gegen die Belastungen aus mechanischen Vibrationen in einem Frequenzbereich von 30 Hz bis 100 Hz.Due to the damping elements provided according to the invention, the into the honeycomb cell structure between the two outer skins are glued in, you get a considerably higher resistance ability to withstand the stresses from mechanical vibrations a frequency range from 30 Hz to 100 Hz.
Through the additional use of damping film strips, the on the outside facing away from the honeycomb cell structure of the lower cover skin through one or more layers are stuck on walking or interrupted, being the sand which are adjusted and where their direction and location of the response of the solar generator against depends on the acoustically excited vibrations, you get one increased damping and thus lower response behavior in the Range from 150 Hz to 500 Hz.
Fig. 2 shows a partially broken support structure for the solar generator, as it is suitable for satellite use, with an adhesive layer 3 for connecting the individual components between the lower cover skin 5 and the honeycomb cell structure 4 and this honeycomb cell structure and the upper cover skin 2 is provided together. On the upper cover skin 2 , an electrically insulating layer 6 is also provided, on which the solar cells 1 shown in FIG. 1 are then attached.
Aramidpapier, GFK und CFK.To maintain a support structure that is as stiff and light as possible Laminates made from high-modulus fibers in the form of sand are suitable soft construction. The cover layers consist in particular made of carbon fibers with epoxy resin. As material for the honeycomb cell structure is suitable for both aluminum and Polyamide paper or aramid fibers, or aramid paper, GRP and CFRP.
In order to increase the resistance to the mechanical loads of such a support structure, support structures with the structure shown in FIG. 3 are currently used for communication satellites, with carbon fiber blocks 7 being used for load transfer in a correspondingly machined openings in the honeycomb-shaped cell structure 4 be glued in. For further stiffening, additional laminate pieces 8 are provided between the two outer skins 2 , 5 and the carbon fiber blocks 7 , which act as doublers.
The top of the carbon fiber blocks 7 , which are generally rectangular, can be provided with protruding bushings (collar bushings) 7 '. Here, too, adhesive layers 3 are provided between the two outer skins with reinforcing layers and the waven-shaped cell structure 4 for connecting the individual components to one another.
In a first embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 7, instead of the conventional rectangular carbon fiber blocks, cylindrical damping elements 11 are used as hold-downs, which have a special structure and also with both the honeycomb cell structure 4 and with the adhesive layers 3 between the upper and lower cover skins are glued with reinforcing layers 2 .
Each damping element 11 , as can be seen in FIGS. 7a and 7b, has an outer ring 12 made of fiber composite material (FVW), an elastomer ring 13 arranged concentrically with it and inserted therein, and a concentric inner ring 14 made of fiber composite material (FVW), the two FVW rings are preferably vulcanized onto the elastomer ring. It is also possible to arrange several rings made of elastomer material and FVW material alternately concentrically in one another.
Also, a support piece 11 'on the top of the damping element 11 can be provided.
In a particularly preferred second exemplary embodiment of a cell structure designed in accordance with the invention for the solar generator for a communications satellite, the damping elements 11 are inserted into the honeycomb-shaped cell structure 4 at a distance from one another and additionally 5 damping film strips 10 are provided on the outside of the lower cover skin, so as to achieve an optimal one To enable damping of the loads resulting from the vibrations and the sound pressure.
In the second exemplary embodiment, as is shown schematically in FIG. 6, the outer side of the lower cover skin 5 facing away from the honeycomb-shaped cell structure 4 is now covered with a plurality of damping film strips 10 , which can have different lengths and widths and which are fixed to the outer side of the Cover skin 5 are glued. These glued-on damping film strips 10 reduce the loads occurring in the frequency range from 100 Hz to 500 Hz as a result of the sound pressure, whereby these damping film strips 10 can be one-layer or multi-layer, continuous or interrupted. They must also be adapted to the stiffness of the sandwich cover skin. The direction and position of the individual damping foil strips 10 depend on the response behavior of the solar generator to the loads caused by the sound pressure and are to be determined empirically.
Fig. 5 shows the sound level (in dB) as a function of frequency, it being clear that the maximum sound pressure occurs in the frequency range from 100 Hz to 500 Hz; this frequency range is damped by the damping film strips 10 .
Fig. 8 shows the structural behavior as a result of the sound loading, the acceleration g 2 / Hz being plotted on the ordinate and the frequency being plotted on the abscissa.
Except for solar generators for satellites, these can be ge damped support structures also as the basis for vibration sensitivity instruments are used.
