Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a radar method according to the preamble of claim 1 and a device according to claim 4 for the coherent radar measurement by means of electronically controlled antennas.
Seeclutter).Radar systems are used for navigation and obstacle warnings on civilian ships. In the military In the area (marine) there are tasks of sea and air reconnaissance as well as air reconnaissance to do it. A well-known particular problem with ship radar systems is the Ent coverage of weak targets, e.g. B. tons, sports boats or periscopes, snorkels from Submarines, from the echoes of sea waves (so-called sea clutter).
The well-known newer radar technology is used electronically to discover such targets Phase shift controlled antenna used.
J. Nohara, S. Haykin, ′Growler Detection in Sea Clutter with Coherent Radars′ in IEEE Trans. AES, vol. AES 30. No. 3, July 1994, pp. 836-847" be schrieben. The coherent measurement of sea echoes used here is familiar to the person skilled in the art, for example in "T. J. Nohara, S. Haykin, 'Growler Detection in Sea Clutter with Coherent Radars ′ in IEEE Trans. AES, vol. AES 30. No. 3, July 1994, pp. 836-847 "be wrote.
The evaluation of coherent signals by means of spectral analysis leads to their under different Doppler spectrum for a better separation of the signals from Seeclutter and Targets and thus a significantly improved discovery of targets from sea clutter echoes. The swell Doppler spectrum then has a width of approx. 100 Hz by the wave speed in relation to the radar location and the ripple and Spray sure.
In contrast, there is only a spectral one for discrete targets Width of only about 5 Hz has been measured.
To improve the discovery of weak sea targets at the same time existing swell echoes is done invention invented the consideration that a rela tiv long lighting time in every single gaze tion of the antenna is required to a narrow spec dissolve the shape described above and from the Filter out the interference background. The antenna beam should be using conventional technology in every direction 200 linger. As about 200 clubs for the target search sitions of each antenna would have to be scanned a search repeat period of 40 s. This is for dar position of the current situation is much too slow, as against it about 2.5 s for weak sea targets. For the pulse repetition rate is also according to the general one Radar physics require that they be at least 200 Hz should keep the sea clutter spectrum safe without overfolding capture.
The invention therefore has as its object the already known forms of spectra for targets and Clutter's demand for long lighting times for the individual resolution cells and thus directions meet while maintaining a given Frame time for room scanning.
The solution to this problem according to the invention is for a method in claim 1 and specified for a device in claim 4. Advantageous further developments are the subject of Subclaims.
Richtungs-Multiplex-Betrieb).In the invention a special radar operation (directional mul tiplex operation) with electronically controlled antennas. For this, the pulse repetition frequency for a single Rich tion, based on the state of the art to be improved, significantly reduced so that he to the target discovery required impulses spread over a longer period of time will. After the echo run time according to the distance range now remains in each pulse period interval in which the radar lobe using its inertia controllability turned for other directions is set (so-called directional multiplex operation).
The chess from different directions received signals occurring in the same period, are all stored in a buffer and after appropriate sorting by direction and distance cell processed.
From the temporal received signal sequence of a direction / Distance cell is determined using Fourier transform (FFT) calculated the spectrum. This processing is the same significant with the formation of a filter bank over all doubles Learning frequencies as optimal coherent signal processing to discover targets with unknown Doppler shifts exercise.
In addition to the lan The following advantages in addition to the lighting times enough:
- a) Der sonst eventuell störende Empfang von Überreichwei tenechos, z. The otherwise disturbing reception of overreaching tenechos, e.g. B. by large ships or land targets Greater distance is due to the essential extension Avoiding the pulse period to the reception area.
- b) Schwache Ziele im Nahbereich werden nicht verdeckt. b) Weak targets at close range are not covered.
- c) Überreichweiten-Echos aus anderen Blickrichtungen wer den entsprechend dem Nebenkeulenabstand der Empfangs keule gedämpft.c) Overreach echoes from other perspectives the corresponding to the side lobe distance of the reception steamed club.
Es zeigen:The invention is explained in more detail below using two parameter examples. Figs. 1 and 2 shall complement the se examples. Show it:

Haydl, ′Schiffs-Radar mit elektronisch gesteuerter An tenne′, Wachtberg/Freiburg FGAN-FFM und FhG-IAF, 1994" be schriebenen Anforderungen sowie den Eigenschaften eines elektronisch gesteuerten Schiffsradars und der allgemeinen Radargleichung ergeben sich bei Anwendung des erfindungs gemäßen Richtungs-Multiplex-Betriebs folgende geeignete Parameter für Entfernungsbereiche mit Seeclutter:From the "J. Grosche w. Rieck, W. D. Wirth, M. Berroth, w. Haydl, ′ ship radar with electronically controlled type tenne ′, Wachtberg / Freiburg FGAN-FFM and FhG-IAF, 1994 "be written requirements as well as the characteristics of a electronically controlled ship radars and general Radar equation result from the application of the invention according to directional multiplex operation the following suitable Parameters for distance ranges with sea clutter:
-
1. Nächstbereich mit R 2,78 km
Zahl der Pulse in einer Richtung: N = 208,
Verweilzeit der Empfangskeule: erforderlich 18,5 µs, gewählt 28 µs.1. Next area with R 2.78 km
Number of pulses in one direction: N = 208,
Residence time of the receiving lobe: required 18.5 µs, selected 28 µs. -
2. Naher Bereich mit R 11 km
Zahl der Pulse in einer Richtung: N = 42,
Verweilzeit der Empfangskeule: erforderlich 73 µs ge wählt 140 µs.2. Close range with R 11 km
Number of pulses in one direction: N = 42,
Residence time of the receiving lobe: required 73 µs selected 140 µs.
In conventional operation, the pulse period is divided into one Direction selected equal to the dwell time of the receiving lobe.
Im ersten Bereich ist sie 1.02 kHz.The pulse period is now by the factor for both areas 35 extended. So the pulse frequency with 204 Hz in second area just big enough (<200 Hz required). in the the first range is 1.02 kHz.
The sampling times are even with 203.8 and 205 ms long enough.
The 35 times longer pulse period enables the directional multiplex operation in a directional block 4 of 35 lobe directions via the phased array antenna 1 shown in FIG. 1 . The time period required for this in the exemplary embodiment of the longest receiving lobe dwell time is 0.14 ms times the number of lobe directions for 42 required pulses in one direction:
FB = 0,14 · 35 · 42 = 205,8 msF B = 0.14 x 35 x 42 = 205.8 ms
In FIG. 2 illustrates, followed by the next block the direction of 4 to 6 by blocks 210 Keulenrichtun gene of the entire azimuth range of the array antenna 1 is these is processed. The process requires 6 times the individual block time, which leads to a total time of 1.3 s in the example presented. A value that is significantly smaller than that required by the general requirement for the coherent radar measurement for the detection of weak sea targets with approx. 2.5 s.
In the example of a 35-fold pulse period extension, received signals from 35 directions are nested in the same period of time. As shown in FIG. 1, two buffers are provided, to which the incoming data are assigned alternately via the memory selector switch 3 for re-sorting. The echoes of all distance cells are read into columns of successive pulse periods in one of the intermediate memories 2 . This happens at the nth pulse for all club directions (n = 1 ... 42). Each stripe corresponds to the signal sequence of a lobe direction. When reading out line by line, the sorted echoes to the distance cells then result in the direction of the clubs. Via the selection selector switch 6 , the read signals of the evaluation stage 7 are fed for double filtering by means of a Fourier transformation. While reading out and processing from the buffer 2 a, selected via the memory selector switch 3 , the echoes are written into the buffer 2 b.
The result of the evaluation stage 7 is available at its output for transfer to the following signal sinks, which are not specified in more detail.
The radar technology used electronically via phase shifters controlled antenna leaves the inertia-free swiveling planar antenna viewing directions. To realize egg his forward and backward "view" is known to summarize the So-called Janus arrangement on two planar antenna backs Back to an antenna group. This arrangement but has the disadvantage that it is not that of ships required all-round view.
The configuration of the invention according to claim 5 is avoided the disadvantage of the simple Janus construction, in which ever two antenna groups in the Janus arrangement by 90 ° ver sets are built.
In this way, the individual antenna elements can be used assigned transmit or receive modules alternately ver to care. Two antennas (one from each Janus pair) operated simultaneously.
