Description
The invention relates to a foam concentrate for producing extinguishing foam and its use in foam u. Fire extinguishers. Foam agents are additives to the extinguishing water for the production of extinguishing foam represents.
These are pre-formulated concentrates, which generally contain 3% by volume be settled. In special cases, other dosages are used, e.g. B. 1 vol.%, 4 vol.% Or 6 vol.%. By using different Foam devices can be obtained by adding the foam agent accordingly Light, medium or heavy foam.
eingeteilt:
Foam agents for extinguishing purposes have been known for a long time and are divided into the following categories:
- - Protein-Schaummittel,- protein foaming agents,
- - Mehrbereichs-Schaummittel,- multigrade foam,
- - filmbildende-Schaummittel,- film-forming foaming agents,
- - Fluorprotein-Schaummittei,- fluoroprotein foam agent,
- - filmbildende Fluorprotein-Schaummittel.- Film-forming fluoroprotein foaming agents.
So far, extinguishing agents have mainly been optimized with regard to their extinguishing performance. Environmental aspects have played a subordinate role. All currently on fire Protective technology used foam agents are dangerous to the environment. For example all synthetic multigrade foam agents in water hazard class 2 or above. The use of foaming agents therefore poses a hazard potential for the environment, be it in production, transport, storage, use or disposal.
This foam concentrate consists of alkyl polyglycoside, Stof fen from the group of glycol ethers, propylene glycol, anionic fluorine-free surfactants, organic acids, other additives and water. Deviating from the opposite State of the invention relates exclusively to film-forming fluorosurfactants and foaming agents containing polysaccharides. The alkyl polyglycoside is said to that you can get by with a lower proportion of fluorosurfactants. The foaming agent Concentrate contains only 1.0 to 10.0 percent by weight of alkyl polygly kosid on. Furthermore, according to the document, for example 1-Butoxyethoxy-2-ethanol can be used as the glycol ether, whereas the counter the invention in deviation from this provides butyl diglycol.
In a company brochure ("Glucopon", "A new generation of surfactants", Henkel, Issue 2, August 1993, pages 2 and 7), the surfactant alkyl polyglycoside is explained in more detail. The prospectus states that in the production of alkyl polyglycosides from C 8 -C 16 fatty alcohols and glucose with elimination of water, the acetal glycoside bond which is stable in a wide pH range is obtained. In this reaction, more than one glucose unit is condensed on average to one alcohol molecule. The resulting end product therefore contains not only monoglycosides but also di-, tri- and higher glycosidated compounds. The average value of the glucose units bound to a molecule of fatty alcohol is referred to as the average degree of glycosidation or as the average degree of polymerization. The alkyl polyglycoside mentioned in the following embodiment with the trade name Glucopon® 225 CS UP has a C 8 -C 10 alkyl chain length and a degree of polymerization of 1.6.
The invention has for its object to provide a foam concentrate, that has a high extinguishing performance with high environmental compatibility.
This object is achieved by the features of claim 1 ge solves.
The advantages of the invention are that the foam concentrate gives a high extinguishing performance with low environmental impact. An alkyl polyglycoside is used as the base foaming agent, which is very well tolerated by ecotoxicology and easily biodegradable. The foaming agents based on the alkyl polyglycosides are made from purely vegetable raw materials. They consist only of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen and are broken down to CO 2 and H 2 O. Since plants resume these breakdown products, there is a natural cycle. In addition to the base foam agent alkyl polyglycoside, the foaming agent has a proportion of butyl diglycol.
This glycol serves as a solubilizer and also acts as a cosurfactant foam reinforcing. Butyl diglycol is also an anti-freeze. This recipe component also fulfills the criteria of low environmental risk. With regard to the foaming performance, one achieves with the solubilizer Butyl diglycol has a synergistic effect in the form of achieving a particular one Use less foam of the base foam agent alkyl polyglycoside is done. In other words, the part brought into the environment of biomass to be mined and the environment is less polluted. The the same applies to the entry of the wastewater contaminated with the foam agent into a biological sewage treatment plant.
Die Unteransprüche 2 bis 4 geben weitere Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung an.The sub-claims 2 to 4 indicate further refinements of the invention.
Dabei zeigenThe invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of two exemplary embodiments. The exemplary embodiments relate to formulations for foaming agents. The clarification serve drawings. Show

The percentages by weight are based on the formulations mentioned below each on the undiluted formulation components. This makes you independent of the different concentrations of the pre-diluted products available on the market Recipe components.
Jede der zwei Rezepturen weist folgende Grundzusammensetzung auf:Each of the two recipes has the following basic composition:
Information on this: FIGS. 2 to 4 illustrate the effect of the base foam agent alkyl polyglycoside as a function of the amount of its admixture. In all three diagrams, the proportion of the alkyl polyglycoside APG in percent by weight of the foaming agent is plotted on the abscissa. The erase time t in seconds s is plotted on the ordinate in FIG. 2. One curve in FIG. 2 applies to tap water LW, while the other applies to sea water MW. In FIGS. 3 and 4, the expansion ratio and the water VZ half WHZ is plotted in Minu th on the ordinate, respectively. Fig. 3 gives the values for tap water, whereas Fig. 4 shows the curves for the foaming with artificial sea water.
From Fig. 2 it can be seen that up to a certain proportion of alkyl polyglycoside the extinguishing performance improves and then remains essentially constant.
In other words, an increase in the proportion of alkyl polygly kosid to over 25% by weight for no significant increase in performance.
Fig. 2 shows that with less than about 14 wt .-% of alkyl polyglycoside, the Löschlei stung decreases drastically when foamed with artificial sea water.
Besonders gute Verschäumungswerte erhält man mit dem Produkt, welches unter der Warenbezeichnung "Glucopon® 225 CS UP" und "Glucopon® 215 CS UP" von der Fa. Henkel vertrieben wird.Particularly good foaming values are obtained with the product, which is under the product name "Glucopon® 225 CS UP" and "Glucopon® 215 CS UP" is distributed by Henkel.
Information on this: A proportion of more than 10% by weight of butyl diglycol is possible, but does not lead to a higher foaming performance. A lower admixture up to 5% by weight of the recipe still gives usable results.
Butyl diglycol has a foam-enhancing effect like a cosurfactant and adjusts at the same time Antifreeze. Together with the alkyl polyglycoside, butyl diglycol works a synergy effect with regard to the foaming performance.
Information on this: To achieve special properties, antifreeze agents, other surfactants to increase extinguishing performance, preservatives, neutralis Detergent and foam stabilizers added. This is followed in the following separately received.
Information on this: Germ-free water should be used to produce the foaming agent be used to improve long-term stability.
Diese allgemeine Formulierung eignet sich zur Herstellung von umweltverträglichemThis general formulation is suitable for the production of environmentally friendly
- - Schwerschaum,- heavy foam,
- - Mittelschaum und- middle foam and
- - Leichtschaum.- Light foam.
Foaming numbers of 8 to 9 were achieved for heavy foam, for medium foam 60 to 70 and for lightweight foam 650 to 745.
Nachfolgend werden die Zusatzmittel näher beschrieben:The additives are described in more detail below:
Propylene glycol is used, for example compared to the conventional Ethylene glycol is more environmentally friendly. Although propylene glycol leads to a little clogged quenching performance, but by adding a small amount of the previous Solubilizer described butyl diglycol is compensated.
For example, a proportion of 20% by weight is sufficient to ensure frost resistance down to minus 15 ° C. An increased addition of propylene glycol to the further Increasing the frost resistance is without any significant change in the foaming performance possible.
The addition of propylene glycol is limited by an almost sudden decrease the extinguishing performance. Above 30% by weight of propylene glycol the recipe occurs Delete "ghost fire" on. The foam itself becomes flammable.
Als Schaumstabilisatoren genügen geringe Mengen eines Fettalkohols. Beispielsweise kann es sich um Nonylalkohol handeln. Small amounts of a fatty alcohol are sufficient as foam stabilizers. For example it can be nonyl alcohol.
A reduction to less than 0.3% by weight of nonyl alcohol in the recipe is not sensible. An increase to max. 2% is possible. There is a risk with higher dosing of flocculation.
If there is flocculation in the foam concentrate, there is a risk that it will be used the admixers can clog.
Als Konservierungsmittel findet eine organische Säure Verwendung. Geeignet ist bei spielsweise Salicylsäure. An organic acid is used as a preservative. Suitable for for example salicylic acid.
Salicylic acid is environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Compared to conventional Chen preservatives is an approximately 10 times higher dosage to about 0.2 required.
In order to adjust the foaming agent to a pH value of about 8 in a skin-friendly manner Citric acid used. As a side effect one achieves that any cloudiness of the Foaming agents are eliminated. Citric acid is completely biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
Hierzu eignet sich z. B. Natrium-Laurylsulfat oder Natrium-n-decylsulfat.For this, z. B. sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium n-decyl sulfate.
If a small proportion of the base foaming agent alkyl polyglycoside by an anioni replacing the chemical surfactant improves the extinguishing performance.
The proportions can be varied between 0.5 and 5% by weight. A reduction to below 1% by weight noticeably reduces the overall extinguishing performance.
A proportion of more than 5% by weight would significantly increase the environment if used for extinguishing strain. In addition, a downgrading of the overall recipe from the water hazard class 1 after 2. When adding an anionic surfactant you need a lower proportion of alkyl polyglycoside.
