Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a product with a Su peralling existing basic body and one on it layer system to protect the body against a aggressive hot gas, the layer system being a kerami cal thermal insulation layer with an outer gas exposed Surface.
The invention particularly relates to such a he certificate, which is designed as a component for a Gas turbine, in particular as a moving blade, guide blade or Heat shield, generally as a component, which during their regular operation a hot flue gas, which so can be oxidative as well as corrosive.
In particular, reference is made to a product for a modern stationary gas turbine, in which the flue gas is a medium temperature can reach up to 1400 ° C and in wel cher must be expected that a component of the so type just described despite any cooling provided exposed to a temperature up to 1000 ° C and above.
A product as described at the beginning emerges in each case from U.S. Patent 4,321,310; U.S. Patent 4,321,311; U.S. Patent 4,055,705 and U.S. Patent 5,262,245. The one in these Products described in patents can be viewed as alternative configurations of a basic form of an ent speaking product. In any case, the product has an egg NEN body made of a super alloy and an outer Surface created by a ceramic thermal barrier coating det. Between the ceramic thermal barrier and the The basic body is in most of the presented versions designs a metallic adhesive layer. This adhesive layer may have a composition of the MCrAlY type, i.e. H. a Composition like an alloy, as a basis Contains iron, cobalt and / or nickel (what the "M" stands for) and as further essential components chrome, aluminum and Yttrium or an element equivalent to yttrium such as scan dium or a rare earth element. The Together MCrAlY is general in the relevant field my known; it is also generally known that these together setting can be further developed by adding further elements is. As such, other elements are representative of many called silicon, hafnium, tantalum, titanium, and platinum Rhenium. Known alternative compositions for detention are intermetallic compounds made of nickel and Aluminum or platinum and aluminum.
From WO 89/07159 A1, EP 0 486 489 B1 and the EP 0 412 397 A1 uses a layer system for protection against a base body made of a superalloy an aggressive hot gas which layer system in is primarily metallic and a layer of one MCrAlY alloy contains. Are also particularly good Other compositions for MCrAlY alloys wrote, which are marked by an additional Chen content of rhenium.
In the meantime, it has also been suggested that further ver improvement of an alloy of the type MCrAlY the more necessary wise existing aluminum at least partially through the che mix element to replace gallium. Gallium has several Terms properties that match the corresponding eigen properties of aluminum and silicon match; it however, gallium is expected to be less than aluminum tends to become brittle and therefore vulnerable to make for cracking.
With regard to the use of rhenium in one layer An essay "Thermal Mechanical Fatigue Behavior of Advanced Overlay Coatings "by N. Czech, F. Schmitz and W. Stamm, Materials and Manufacturing Processes 10, 5 (1995) 1021. This essay gives in particular information regarding the effects of rhenium in an appropriate protective layer.
Those listed in the documents cited above MCrAlY protective layers each with an addition of Rhenium are also for use as adhesive layers for kera Mix thermal insulation layers have been proposed. In this To is particularly important that the rhenium Oxidation of the adhesive layer slows down. This results in a comparatively low growth of one from components the adhesive layer, in particular aluminum, formed oxide layer that is between the adhesive layer and the actual chen ceramic thermal insulation layer forms and with increasing Thickness tends to mechanical instability; it can ins especially for flaking of the ceramic thermal insulation layer and ultimately the entire layer system fails.
Since the growth rate of the oxide layer between egg ner metallic adhesive layer and ceramic thermal insulation layer represents a factor determining the lifespan, becomes an alloy with low oxide for the adhesive layer tion rate preferred. As already mentioned, this results in the Preferred alloys containing rhenium. The ceramic thermal barrier coating is also in terms of their chemical composition as well as structure and type of their type bond to the adhesive layer subject to further development. Thermal insulation is currently used above all layer of one with yttrium oxide partially or completely stabilized zirconium oxide. Such a heat is produced medämmschicht by atmospheric plasma spraying, in which the relevant properties of the thermal barrier coating through the Setting a defined porosity and a layer-like to micro-segmented structure as well as mostly me Chan bracketing on a suitably porous th adhesive layer can be set. Alternatively, a heat medämmschicht produced by a vapor deposition ren, in which the thermal barrier coating is an expansion-tolerant columnar crystalline structure and a mainly chemical one Link to the correspondingly smooth detention to be provided has layer. The chemical connection of the thermal insulation layer to the adhesive layer takes place between them Layers of formed, thin oxide layer. This is given otherwise via appropriately formed intermediate connections conditions, both with the thermal barrier coating and with the adhesive layer firmly connected.
A shift system usually fails because, in addition to the Oxidation of the adhesive layer also thermal-mechanical changes stresses occur, through which cracks in the Can spread thermal insulation layer. In the case of a sprayed thermal insulation layer ultimately to chipping above the border between the ceramic and the metal, in In the case of thermal insulation separated from the vapor phase layer to flake in between the actual one Thermal insulation layer and the adhesive layer formed oxide layer. Following the flaking off of the thermal insulation layer results in a temperature increase on the surface of the adhesive layer, which in turn lead to rapid oxidation and one of them resulting rapid degradation of the adhesive layer leads.
That the addition of rhenium to an adhesive layer of the type MCrAlY is of considerable advantage has already been explained been. However, the addition of rhenium to one of them only possible to a limited extent, since also the addition of rhenium leads to some embrittlement can. This is also evident from the article cited.
Accordingly, the invention is based on the object Indicate the product of the type specified in the introduction, in which the exploitation of an advantage, which is characterized by the Using rhenium can result in an alternative way follows.
sammensetzung chemischen Elemente aufweist:
Rhenium 35% bis 60%;
Aluminium 10% bis 20%;
Gallium 0% bis 10%;
Silizium 0% bis 2%;
Hafnium 0% bis 2%;
0% bis 2%;
herstellungsbedingte Verunreinigungen; sowie
Chrom als Rest.To achieve this object, a product is provided with a base body consisting of a superalloy and a layer system thereon for protecting the base body against an aggressive hot gas, the layer system having a ceramic thermal barrier coating with an outer surface which can be exposed to the gas, and wherein the thermal insulation layer rests on an intermediate layer, which rests on the base body and has the following composition of chemical elements by mass fraction:
Rhenium 35% to 60%;
Aluminum 10% to 20%;
Gallium 0% to 10%;
Silicon 0% to 2%;
Hafnium 0% to 2%;
an active element from the group containing yttrium, scan dium and the elements of the rare earths:
0% to 2%;
manufacturing-related impurities; and chrome as the rest.
Accordingly, according to the invention, a special intermediate layer is used provided the portion desired in the layer system contains at least a significant proportion of rhenium. By providing this intermediate layer, the rhenium can be attached exactly where it is because of its function as Intermediate oxidation reducing agent esse is, namely on a border between the ceramic Thermal insulation layer and the base body or one on it lying metallic adhesive layer. Because the intermediate layer can be applied thinly, play their mechanical Properties, especially the question of whether they are more ductile or is rather brittle, only a marginal role. The two layer is also comparatively rich in aluminum, ge possibly also gallium and / or silicon, and thus represents Starting elements for the formation of an oxidic layer between between the metallic part of the layer system and the kera mix thermal insulation layer ready. The material of the adhesive layer is preferably supplemented by an active element such as haf nium, yttrium or an element equivalent to this such as scan dium or the rare earth elements as these elements a desirable contribution to anchor the mentioned provide an oxide layer on the intermediate layer.
It is understood that with the presence of manufacturing ter impurities of the usual type and in usual proportions is always to be expected; to produce the alloy for the Intermediate layer are all relevant technical knowledge note.
Eine bevorzugte Zusammensetzung für die Zwischenschicht hat
nach Massenanteilen folgende Zusammensetzung:
Rhenium 47%;
Aluminium 15%;
Yttrium 0,5%;
herstellungsbedingte Verunreinigungen; sowie
Chrom als Rest.A preferred composition for the intermediate layer has the following composition in mass proportions:
Rhenium 47%;
Aluminum 15%;
Yttrium 0.5%;
manufacturing-related impurities; and chrome as the rest.
The intermediate layer of the product is preferably on a metallic adhesive layer made of an alloy of the MCrAlY type, where M consists of at least one metal the group containing iron, cobalt and nickel as a basis of the alloy. This alloy continues to contain also adds rhenium, preferably with a mass fraction between 1% and 15%.
The intermediate layer preferably has a thickness of less than 10 µm, in particular a thickness of about 5 µm. That is ensures that the mechanical properties of the Intermediate layer, especially a possible brittleness, cannot adversely affect the entire layer system nen.
In the product is the super-alloy forming the basic body tion is also preferably a nickel-based or cobalt base sis superalloy, for which the examples generally are known nickel-based super alloy IN738LC and the cobalt ba sis superalloy MAR-M-509 are to be mentioned.
The intermediate layer of the product is preferably one Dispersion essentially of an intermetallic Compound of rhenium and chromium in one phase metallic matrix. The intermetallic has ins especially the approximate composition Cr₃Re, for which esp special chromium and rhenium with roughly matching Ge parts by weight must be present. The main part of the aluminum and any other el element is mainly found in the metallic matrix and stands between this matrix to form the oxide layer the intermediate layer and the thermal insulation layer are available.
The thermal insulation layer of the product is preferably in essentially from an at least partially stabilized Zirconium oxide, which in particular by adding Yttrium oxide is stabilized. Zirconium oxide stands out there through out that its relevant mechanical properties the corresponding properties of the used Metals and alloys are relatively similar. The stabilization The zirconium oxide serves to establish a phase transition in the ge add the zirconium oxide as it appears under the corresponding ther mixer load in pure zirconium oxide, too prevent or at least slow down.
The product is preferably designed as a component for a gas turbine, in particular as a rotor blade, guide blade or heat shield. In this context is the product suitable, under load by an oxidizing and corro dosing flue gas, as is usually the case in a stationary Gas turbine is formed, a temperature up to 1000 ° C and to resist beyond that.

One is then applied to the intermediate layer ceramic thermal insulation layer made of partially stabilized zir conoxide, by atmospheric plasma spraying. The Anchoring the ceramic thermal insulation layer to the intermediate layer and the adhesive layer is partly by chemical means binding as already described, partly by mechanical connection binding to the remaining surfaces due to manufacturing structures of the intermediate layer.
2. On a gas turbine component with a cobalt base Superalloy MAR-M-509 existing body will be one Adhesive layer corresponding to the adhesive layer from the present Example applied and after application and blasting po liert.
The intermediate layer is placed on the adhesive layer prepared in this way applied as described in the previous example, and a ceramic thermal barrier coating is applied to the intermediate layer made of partially stabilized zirconium oxide through physical steam deposition with electron beam evaporation (EB-PVD) carry. Before or during the application of the thermal barrier coating is to be ensured by setting suitable conditions, that an oxide layer forms on the intermediate layer which adhere to the thermal insulation layer through chemical bonding can. This thermal barrier coating has a columnar crystalline structure Structure and is accordingly very tolerant of heat strains because the stem-shaped crystallites of the thermal insulation layer when the metallic structure expands from the base body and the metallic on top of it Move part of the layer system relatively freely against each other can. In terms of function, such a layer is system compared to the layer system of the first example quite preferred; it is due to its elaborate Production, however, significantly more expensive, so that for the prak table operation based on the circumstances of the individual if a compromise between resilience and price of each layer system to be used is to be closed.
In each of the above examples, the Zwi two-phase layer structure; it is in the form of an egg A dispersion of essentially an intermetallic phase consisting of rhenium and chromium a metallic matrix. The intermetallic compound has the approximate composition Cr₃Re, and the metallic In addition to rhenium and chromium, matrix contains the other chemical substances Elements of the composition. From the metallic matrix is aluminum, possibly also gallium and silicon, for the oxide formation between the intermediate layer and the heat insulation layer available.
The intermediate layer affects regardless of its rele vanten mechanical properties the properties of the ge entire layer system is not essential since it is very thin and diffusion due to its high rhenium content of elements to a significant extent. It adds accordingly easily between the metallic adhesion layer and the ceramic thermal barrier coating. It offers all essential egg related to oxidation and corrosion properties that contribute to the chemical element rhenium can, without further rhenium being added to the adhesive layer must be and possibly impair their properties could do.
The invention thus offers a powerful layer system to protect a base body, in particular a base body pers of a gas turbine component, against an aggressive hot ßes gas, at a temperature of 1000 ° C or more.
