Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for in-situ cleaning of trickle bed reactors in biological exhaust air purification systems.
The basic principle of biological exhaust air purification has been known for a long time. One Overview of development, state of the art and potential of biological Sabo, Schneider, Fischer and Motz provide exhaust air purification in wlb Markttspiegel Umwelttechnik 1996, p. 50 ff. The first technical applications are based on essentially on the passage of the harmful gases through organic Fillings.
The bio-washers and developed as technical process variants the biofilter. The main areas of application for the bio-washers are in elimination readily water-soluble pollutants from the exhaust air.
Conventional biofilters work with organic fillers whose surface is biomass immobilized. Standard in design are open Area biofilter with a large area. Due to weather influences as well by degradation of the organic carrier material that occurs at certain intervals the performance is limited. The use is made essentially for exhaust air flows with low and relatively constant Pollution.
Further developments dealt with the construction of encapsulated plants as well the use of inert carrier materials. DE 42 32 992 A1 describes a Process for biological exhaust air purification by targeted sprinkling of the Microorganisms on the trickling filters, which is an increased biological Degradation performance of the pollutants contained in the exhaust air. Of the Pollutant degradation takes place in that the microorganisms contain the pollutant to u. a. Metabolize CO₂, H₂O and above all biomass. The emerging Biomass leads to overgrowth and ultimately clogging of the reactor, since it causes the free spaces between the packed bed. The pressure loss increases mining performance is significantly affected by channel formation and dead zones. In particular, trickle bed reactors with high space-time yields become clogged accordingly quickly.
To increase the performance of trickle bed reactors, you have to Either suppress biomass formation or the biomass continuously or sporadically remove from the system.
In VDI reports 1104, biological exhaust gas cleaning, VDI-Verlag GmbH, Düsseldorf 1994 (R) will delay the growth of biomass through targeted Nutrient salt limitation or nutrient salt increase described. With this Procedures, however, the time of constipation is only delayed. On The growth of microorganisms and the associated blockage of the In the end, trickle bed reactor cannot be prevented.
The DE-OS provides an option for discharging excess biomass 32 27 678. After the claimed process, the overgrown Packing is cleaned by flooding the reaction space in such a way that the carrier body is moved in relation to each other due to its buoyancy and excess biomass is flushed out. So this is Cleaning procedures limited to floatable packing, d. H. Packing, whose density is greater than the density of water can be done with this method not be cleaned. Furthermore, this method does not seem suitable, strong successfully clean overgrown fillings because the shear effect, which results solely from the floating of the packing onto the adhering ones Biofilms is low.
The unwanted exhaust gas components are either directly with all of the exhaust gas into a liquid-filled reactor initiated, or they are previously from the exhaust gas by spraying with a Liquid washed out and together with the liquid the reactor fed. Individuals float in the liquid-filled reactor Carrier particles for microorganisms in lumpy and / or granulated form free movable. The microorganisms located on the carrier particles build the unwanted exhaust components to harmless products.
The invention has for its object a method for biological Exhaust air purification by metabolizing the pollutants to form To design biomass in the trickle bed reactor so that simple and Economical way excess biomass used to clog the reactor leads, detached from the packing and transported out of the reactor can.
This object is achieved in that targeted Removal of excess biomass when a certain amount is exceeded Pressure loss floods the reactor, then an air flow with increasing Passes through speed, then brief pressure surges from below with gas the packing layer there, rinsed with water from bottom to top and back After-cleaning water and a constant or pulsating air flow passes through. It is advantageous that the cleaning cycle at one Pressure loss across the packed bed <600 Pa / m initiates. It turns out to be favorable that the reactor at least up to a height of 3/5 Dumping height, but max. floods to the full height of the dump. To replace the Biomass from the packing, it is advantageous that an air flow with a constantly increasing flow velocity from 0 to max. 0.1 m / s, however at least from 0 to 0.02 m / s for max. 5 min., But at least 1 min. passes through and then pressure surges of max. 5 s with a pressure of 12 to 80 kPa / m Dumping height at a distance of at least 1 s, but max. 60 s from below on the Packing layer there. The biomass shears off here and is Turbulence suspended in the reactor. Due to the rising gas flow sheared biomass floats and collects above the packed bed on. It has therefore proven advantageous to fill the packing from below to the top with a water volume corresponding at least to the reactor volume do the washing up. Will not be complete after the procedure described so far If cleaning is reached, it is advantageous that at least 3 min. long at the same time water with a flow rate of at least 0.01 to Max. 0.1 m / s and air at a constant or pulsating speed in the Range from 0 to max. 0.1 m / s through the packing layer.
Schadstoffe u. a. zu Biomasse verstoffwechseln.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment shown schematically in a drawing ( FIG. 1):
In normal operation, the humidified exhaust gas enters the reactor 5 through the line 1 . It flows through the packed bed 6 stored on the perforated base 10 . Microorganisms are immobilized on the surface of the fill, which metabolize the pollutants into biomass, among other things. The cleaned exhaust gas leaves the reactor 5 via line 2 . A constant nutrient solution flow is fed to or discharged from the supply vessel 7 via the lines 3 and 4 . The pump 8 is used to moisten the reactor via the nozzle 9 . The taps 14, 15 and 16 are open, the taps 17 , 18 and 19 are closed. If the pressure loss rises above the packed bed <600 Pa / m, cleaning is initiated. For this, the taps 14 , 15 and 16 are closed. The reactor is flooded via line 11 and the opened valves 17 and 18 and then, with the valve 18 closed and the valves 19 and 17 open, a gas stream with increasing flow velocity and then a pulsating gas stream are first passed through the fixed bed via line 12 . When the valves 17 and 18 are open and the valve 19 is closed, the sheared biomass is discharged from the reactor. For post-cleaning, when the valves 17 , 18 and 19 are open, water and air are simultaneously passed through the packing layer at a constant or pulsating speed. The reactor cleaned in this way then returns to normal operation.
Der Druckverlust über der gereinigten Schüttung lag bei 33 Pa/m.With the system described with a packing volume of 4.2 l at a Dumping height of 535 mm was an exhaust air flow of 1 Nm³ / h with a Inlet concentration of the pollutant toluene cleaned from 400 mg / Nm³. Of the Pressure loss of the uncovered bed was 30 Pa / m. After 80 days Operation was the pressure loss due to the overgrown bed to 1,500 Pa / m Dumping height increased. The backwash was made according to the described procedures performed. The reactor was filled with water up to a Flooded 5 cm below the top edge of the packing layer and then for 3 min. an air flow that continuously increases from 0 to 1 m³ / h was passed through. Subsequently, by varying the form in the Gas line between 15 and 30 kPa for 3 min. pulsating air through the bed headed. The pressure surges were applied every 10 s for about 2 s. After that was the reactor flushed with 10 l of water from the bottom up and for subsequent cleaning for 5 min. at the same time water with a flow velocity of 0.6 m / s and Air at a pulsating speed of 0.03 to 0.08 m / s through the Bulk headed. The reactor was then drained through the bottom valve and went back to normal operation. The pressure drop over the cleaned Fill was 33 Pa / m.
Further cleaning cycles under the same conditions at pressure differences above the overgrown packed bed of 1 to 10 kPa / m always led to Pressure losses that corresponded approximately to the uncovered bed.
