Ein solcher Eintrag um faßt jeweils eine Adresse der betreffenden Datei, d. h. den Anfang einer Spur oder eines Titels ("Titel" im Sinn eines Musikstücks o. dgl.). Diese Adresse ist derart formatiert, daß ein Lese- oder Wiedergabegerät (z. B. Abspielgerät) die Adresse mit elektronischen Mitteln so Umsetzen kann, daß der Anfang der betreffenden Datei sehr schnell auf dem Speicher medium gefunden wird und die betreffende Datei ausgelesen werden kann. Zusätzlich zu dieser Adresse umfaßt ein Eintrag in dem Inhaltsverzeichnis eine Angabe (Inhaltsangabe oder Ti tel), die dem tatsächlich gespeicherten Inhalt oder einem Teil des Inhalts der betreffenden Datei entspricht oder die einen Titel oder eine kurze Zusammenfassung des Inhalts die ser Datei darstellt. Diese zusätzliche Angabe besitzt eine Formatierung, die es ermöglicht, die Angabe mit elektroni schen Mitteln und geeigneten nachgeschalteten optischen und/oder akustischen Mitteln in eine vom Menschen wahrnehm bare Form umzusetzen.
