Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for biological Treatment of organic materials according to the generic term of claim 1. Likewise, the invention relates to a associated device for performing the method.
Waste management has been in for several years an accelerated restructuring process. This occurs also the problem of disposal and recycling of biological waste from household, trade and industry more and more in the foreground. There are numerous procedures for biological, mechanical-biological or chemical biological residual waste recycling. As The best known method is the composting of animal and vegetable waste, the organic Substances in an aerobic conversion process using Microorganisms are largely broken down or converted. Next The anaerobic digestion is also part of the aerobic decomposition process for the treatment of biological waste in the absence of air also under the influence of Microorganisms cause waste decomposition. In doing so both methods individually or combined in the Waste technology used.
Especially when composting with an aerobic Treatment is carried out in a known pre-rotting process Material for mixing in a rotting drum constantly moving and in a period of about one to two Days converted to fresh compost. With a static Pre-rotting is the material to be composted and is thereby ventilated. This requires especially for the subsequent rotting process requires considerable space. The advantage of dynamic pre-rotting with a constant Mixing the garbage mixture is good ventilation of the material, the occurrence of anaerobic sites in the Material is prevented.
The anerobic that has also become known in recent years Treatment of organic waste or bio waste is based on anaerobic fermentation, d. H. on a digestion process, that with exclusion of air in the event of a weakly exoteric reaction a biogas production. Such a procedure is become known for example from EP 0 037 612 B1, at which uses organic waste in a stationary process treated with a washout liquid in a reactor, which soluble inorganic and / or organic materials washed out of the material to be treated. It takes place this process in the absence of air, d. H. under anaerobic Conditions instead of so-called hydrolysis.
A disadvantage of this known method is due to the stationary arrangement of the material the emergence of Short-circuit current channels, d. H. the given liquid seeks the path of the least via individual channels Resistance due to a kind of chimney effect, so that Material incompletely sprinkled with washing liquid becomes. The result is dead zones, which are not, or only be washed out insufficiently.
The invention has for its object an improved Process for biological treatment, especially of wet ones to propose organic materials (organic waste) for which the aforementioned disadvantages do not occur and which especially an extremely effective and inexpensive Treatment method for such materials represents. Here the invention is based on the main idea that a combined treatment of the material in the form of a Washout process and a targeted aerobic Material treatment for a highly effective rotting of the Product leads. The invention makes use of individual in part known process steps, which, however, in their combination for an effective treatment of organic waste to lead.
The method according to the invention has the particular advantage that due to a dynamic treatment of the material Short circuit current channels in both vertical and horizontal direction in the material prevented or destroyed be so that the sprinkling performed with Wash out the material evenly and everywhere detected so that no dead zones form. The organic Mass is circulated continuously or discontinuously and at the same time subjected to aerobic material decomposition. The sprinkling takes place from top to bottom at times simultaneous exposure to air from below upwards to achieve aerobic degradation.
In a reactor designed according to the invention with a appropriate circulation device for the material and a Sprinkler system and means for supplying fresh air and removal of the washout liquid Rotting process carried out.
In the subclaims are advantageous and expedient Developments of the inventive method specified.
The operation of the reactor in the Continuous operation, d. H. the reactor is on one side with Material loaded, which is slow due to the circulation system is transported through the reactor. On the other hand the material is removed from the reactor accordingly.
Such a continuous operation has the particular advantage that vary across the length of the reactor Material properties exist because of the length of stay of several days, the decomposition state of the material changed over the length of the reactor and accordingly can be subjected to different treatment. This takes place in particular over the length of the reactor local and temporal different treatment both with wash-out liquid and with fresh air for aerobic rotting.
The reactor according to the invention therefore makes extremely possible flexible handling of the material to be brought in depending on its composition and especially depending on the organic Exposure, temperature and water content, in particular the aerobic implementation of the material over the length of the Reactor measured and the process regulated or can be controlled.
The degree of filling of the reactor with that to be treated Material as well as its geometric shape and the The surface of the material is sprinkled advantageously coordinated with one another such that a even sprinkling of the maximum possible Material surface is done so that there are no dead zones form.
It is also advantageous that in the lower area of the Reactor multiple chambers are provided, the same for the supply of fresh air and / or as an outlet for the Washout serve, the chambers in particular with a sieve filter to avoid as much as possible Passage of material are covered. The covering strainer can be cleaned by backwashing, with several Chambers can interact.
Flooding of the lower region of the Reactor with washout liquid to be a kind Towards swimming of the material for a better circulation get what is preferably very tough and / or very dry material is appropriate.
The method according to the invention is preferably thereby further developed that the continuous reactor different mechanical-biological stage are subordinate to the one Carry out cleaning and regeneration of the washing liquid and this by anaerobic treatment from the strong free the organic load. This can be done in the cycle treated washing liquid the reactor of the invention be fed again.
Advantages with regard to the device according to the invention Implementation of the procedure are as follows Description of an exemplary embodiment additionally specified.

The principle diagram shown in Fig. 1 shows an installation 1 for biological treatment of, preferably, wet organic waste with multiple components, comprising a solid reactor 2 for the treatment of the organic material and the reactor 2 subsequent processing stages 3 to 5 for after-treatment and preparation of the reusable leaching .
Der Antrieb der Welle 7 erfolgt über einen Antriebsmotor 10.As shown in FIG. 1, the reactor 2 consists of an elongated housing 6 with a vertical cross section, as shown in FIGS. 2 to 5. The length l of the housing can be designed very differently depending on the size of the system and can be, for example, 1 ≈ 20 to 30 m. In this case, the height h of the reactor space is h ≈ 4 to 5 m. In the lower area, the reactor housing 6 'is approximately cylindrical in cross section, in the upper area 6 ''rather rectangular ( Fig. 2), triangular ( Fig. 3) or oval overall ( Fig. 4). The reactor housing 6 is penetrated by a horizontal shaft 7 , which is preferably designed as a stirrer agitator 8 with paddle or blade-shaped circulating elements 9 . The shaft 7 is driven by a drive motor 10 .
According to the illustration in FIG. 1, the housing 6 of the reactor 2 has, at its one upper left end in the figure, a filling opening 11 through which the reactor is charged with an organically contaminated material 13 in accordance with the arrow 12 . These are, in particular, wet organic materials or biomasses that originate in particular from household biological waste from the food processing industry, agriculture or from an organic fraction of residual waste (landfill waste) or the like (organic waste). The most diverse compositions come into consideration both with regard to the organic load and with regard to the degree of moisture and the starting temperature.
At the other end of the reactor 2 , as shown in FIG. 1, in the lower right end there is an outlet opening 14 for the material 13 after the treatment, which is discharged from the reactor according to arrow 15 .
The reactor 2 shown in FIG. 1 is filled in its interior 17 up to a medium filling level h F with material 13 , so that an air space 16 lying above it is established. The fill level of the material can be, for example, two thirds of the total height h.
In the upper area of the reactor interior 17 there are a large number of spray arms 18 for applying a washout liquid 19 to the material 13 , which emerges from the spray arms 18 according to an arrow. An upper feed line 20 with a control valve 21 leads the washout liquid 19 to the individual spray arms 18 . In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, for example seven spray arms 18 are arranged distributed over the length of the reactor interior.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, several chambers 22 and in particular four chambers 22 are arranged side by side in the lower region of the reactor 2, which are separated from the interior 17 of the reactor by means of a cover screen 23 so that the material 13 does not fall into the chamber 22 as far as possible. The perforated screen diameter is between 6 and 12 mm and is in particular 8 mm in diameter. This diameter is symbolically represented with d₁.
The chamber 22 has a dual function. On the one hand, it serves to collect the wash-out liquid passing through the material 13 . This wash-out liquid is identified by 19 'in the chamber 22 and is guided via a discharge line 24 with a valve arrangement 25 to a collecting line 26 .
In addition, the chamber 22 serves to supply the material 13 with fresh air 27 , as is symbolically shown in FIG. 1 with arrows. The fresh air is fed via a compressor 28 to a manifold 29 , and from there it is fed via control valves 30 via the pipe 31 to the respective chamber 22 .
Because of the proposed possibility of backwashing and flooding the reactor interior 17 with washout liquid from the chambers 22 , an overflow wall 32 or overflow edge is provided in the region of the outlet opening 14 . The associated upper liquid level 33 is shown symbolically.
The lower collecting line 26 for the wash-out liquid discharged from the chambers leads via a common line 34 with valve arrangement 35 to the downstream processing stages 3 to 5 for treating the wash-out liquid. These treatment stages include, in particular, initially a contaminant separator 3 , which is used for separating sediments of all kinds, such as, for. B. sand, stones or the like, ie all substances that penetrate the sieve 23 as sediments. Sediments are removed via a conveyor 36 , floating or suspended matter such as plastic, wood or the like are removed from the contaminant separator via a skimmer 37 .
The scrubbing liquid thus cleaned in the impurity separator 3 is led via a line 38 with a pump 39 to a downstream anaerobic reactor stage 4 , which is designed, for example, as a metal reactor. In this metaneactor, the washout liquid enriched with organic matter is broken down and cleaned by metanobacteria, biogas or metangas 40 being produced as a metabolic product.
Finally, the downstream treatment stage contains a further aerobic cleaning reactor 5 , which converts the anaerobic state of the washout liquid into an aerobic state via a line 41 , ventilation 42 ensuring aerobic decomposition and revitalization of the washout liquid.
Conventional components and system parts according to the known process scheme can be used for these three downstream treatment stages 3 to 5 for the washout liquid.
Diese Sammelleitung 44 führt zu den einzelnen Zuleitungen 20 zu den Sprüharmen 18.The washing-out liquid treated and cleaned in this way and in particular disposed of strong organic pollution is removed via a line 43 from the aerobic cleaning stage 5 and fed to a collecting line 44 by means of a pump 45 . This manifold 44 leads to the individual feed lines 20 to the spray arms 18 .
After a certain start-up phase of the system 1 , a washout liquid treated in this way consists of a slightly acidified liquid, the acidification of the pure water initially used as the washout liquid taking place through the aerobic treatment of the material 13 in the reactor 2 . This process corresponds to a hydrolysis, ie a dissolution of soluble salts with acidification of the water.
The system and in particular the solid-state reactor 2 operate as follows:
The material 13 fed continuously or discontinuously to the inlet opening 11 of the reactor 2 generally consists of a wet organic substance, in particular of organic waste, as mentioned at the beginning. The fill level of the material 13 is approximately h F 2/3 of the interior height h, so that an upper air space 16 is created. Here, as shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, the filling height h F dimensioned such that almost the entire width B of the surface 46 of the material 13 may be sprayed with a leaching liquid 19th For this reason, the upper area of the reactor is designed to be rectangular in cross-section ( FIG. 2), triangular ( FIG. 3) or overall oval ( FIG. 4) in order to avoid a reduction in the material surface with a corresponding filling level.
The uniform spraying of the material 13 by the spray arms 18 by means of the slightly acidified liquid 19 causes a washout of soluble organic and / or inorganic substances and / or water-soluble fatty acids which are formed by the decomposition of the material 13 . It is important that material 13 is circulated continuously and continuously or discontinuously by a kind of spiked agitator 8 with paddle-shaped or paddle-shaped circulating elements 9 , in order on the one hand to obtain good mixing of the material 13 . The circulation, however, also serves in particular to avoid so-called vertical and horizontal short-circuit flow channels, which would be formed by the liquid flow of the wash-out liquid in the material 13 , so that uneven wetting or wash-out and thus dead zones would occur. The paddle-shaped or scoop-shaped stirring arms 9 can, as shown in FIG. 1, be arranged in a plurality next to and / or opposite one another, the paddle-shaped end blades 9 lying next to one another or overlapping, so that there is a kind of disk-shaped circulation of the material. Due to the rotational movement of the shaft 7 (arrow 47 ) there is still a slow longitudinal transport in the direction of arrow 48 through the reactor interior 17 , so that the material 13 slowly migrates longitudinally through the reactor and finally after a dwell time of e.g. B. 4 to 8 days leaves the reactor interior 17 through the discharge opening 14 .
During this treatment procedure and in particular simultaneously or intermittently to the washout process, fresh air 27 is supplied to the material 13 via the lower chambers 22 , which leads to a simultaneous aerobic treatment of the material with exotermic self-heating of the material. This aerobic treatment takes place with a microbiological breakdown of the organic substances by means of corresponding microorganisms, the intensive odor development being encapsulated due to the closed construction of the reactor. The upper air space 16 of the reactor above the material 13 is constantly sucked off by means of a suction pump 49 via an air outlet opening 50 , so that there is also sufficient ventilation of the upper air space 16 . The targeted suction of the upper air by means of negative pressure ensures that only aerobic conditions are also present in the upper air space 16 .
Because of the continuous or discontinuous passage of the material 13 over the longitudinal direction of the reactor, there are very different material compositions within the reactor due to the different residence times. For example, in the area of the filling opening 11 there is relatively fresh and untreated material, while in the area of the rear outlet opening 14 the material is already z. B. was treated between 4 to 8 days. Accordingly, the length of the reactor 1 can include very different treatment stages, which can vary widely.
The reactor is not shown measuring devices for detecting various parameters of the material such. B. assigned its composition, its temperature, the moisture content, etc., while measurement data of the washout liquid and the supply air are still available. Depending on the progress of the treatment, the spray arms 18 which are arranged next to one another can then be acted upon differently with wash-out liquid in order to obtain a different wash-out of the respective underlying material composition. Similarly, the z. B. four underlying chambers 22 are acted upon with fresh air 27 to different degrees in order to influence the aerobic decomposition process of the material 13 . Correspondingly, the mixing of the material that is carried out can additionally influence the material property. For example, with an aerobic degradation of the material, there is a certain increase in the surface area of the organic material, which would at the same time favor the washout process by the washout liquid 19 . Accordingly, depending on the degree of aerobic degradation that has taken place, the optimum amount of wash-out liquid must be metered in, which can be determined empirically. Furthermore, for example, an increase in the temperature of the wash-out liquid due to the aerobic decomposition of the material has a favorable effect on the subsequent treatment stages 3 to 5 in order to obtain optimal regeneration of the wash-out liquid. A preferred treatment of the material in the entrance area and in the end area of the reactor is described in claims 3 and 4.
The interior 17 of the reactor 2 can accordingly be monitored by means of appropriate measuring devices and the process progress can be regulated according to a predetermined program or also as a function of the measured values.
The adjacent lower chambers 22 are closed by means of the covering sieves 23 in such a way that the material 13 can largely not get into the chamber 22 . The decisive factor here is the mesh size with the diameter d 1.
From time to time, however, the screen 23 must be cleaned of impurities or blockages, which is done by a backwashing process. For this purpose, the existing and collected liquid 19 'in the chamber 22 ' is either pent up by closing the valves 25 , so that there is a rise in liquid within the chamber 22 , or it is removed via a collecting line 51 of the line 43 , 44 cleaned washing liquid and the Chamber 22 is supplied in a targeted manner via supply lines 52 with valve arrangement 53 (see FIGS. 4, 5). The liquid can be dammed up to an upper liquid level 33 corresponding to the height of the overflow wall 32 . A possibly additional pressurization of this liquid space with compressed air via the compressor 28 allows the strainer 23 to be blown free and thus cleaned. This process is also supported in particular by means of the liquid pump 45 or a further pump 54 in the collecting line 51 .
The cleaning process of the covering sieves 23 can also be carried out in such a way that only one chamber or only certain chambers are subjected to a backwashing process and the resultant backflushing liquid is discharged in the adjacent or one of the adjacent chambers. For example, the first and third chambers 22 in FIG. 1 can each be emptied in the adjacent chamber during the backwashing process.
Backing up the liquid, for example up to a liquid level 33, can also have the effect that the material 13 floats on this liquid cushion and this material can be mixed more easily, particularly in the case of viscous or very dry material.
As previously mentioned, the material 13 can be treated in a wide variety of ways with washing-out liquid 19 and with fresh air 27 with simultaneous or intermittent circulation of the material. For example, approx. 0.5-2 m³ wash-out liquid per day and per ton of material are converted in the reactor. The duty cycle of the agitator can be between 5 to 60 min. per hour at a rotation of 1 to 2 times per minute.
Fig. 2, for example a sprinkler shows the possible material over the entire upper surface 46 in their maximum possible width with simultaneous circulation of the material by means of the Stachelrührwerks. 8 The uniformly passing through the liquid washing liquid 19 is collected in the lower region of the chamber 22 as the fluid 19 '. In this state, an additional application of fresh air 27 takes place, so that the aerobic decomposition process of the material 13 takes place simultaneously.
Fig. 3 zeigt eine alleinige Frischluftzufuhr 27 ohne Auswaschvorgang. In the normal state, the washing out process and the fresh air supply take place simultaneously. Fig. 3 shows a sole fresh air supply 27 without washing out.
The illustration in FIG. 4 shows the backwashing process up to a liquid level with a liquid level 33 as previously described. As a result, the material floats on this liquid cushion, so that the rotating agitator 8 can be mixed more easily. A slight increase in the material inside the reactor is harmless during this mixing process.
The illustration of the arrangement in FIGS. 2, 3 shows the process of supplying fresh air via line 31 with valve arrangement 30 via lower cover sieve 23 to material 13 . The air is used for the aerobic degradation or the aerobic decomposition of the material by means of microorganisms, the air being collected in the upper air space 16 and sucked out of the reactor interior 17 via the air outlet opening 50 .
Fig. 5 shows the backwashing process via line 52 with valve 53 open, with simultaneous pressurization of compressed air; FIG. 4 shows this operation without compressed air, that is to say closed valve 30.
