Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an axle drive for motor vehicles drives and especially an axle drive with a zy Lindr pinion and a meshing spur gear that ent is neither a cylindrical nor a conical gear, depending on the shaft angle between the pinion and the forehead wheel.
Known axle drives in motor drives use ko African hypoid wheels for transmitting the torque between driving and driven part, which is 90 ° relative are arranged to each other. For example, in known pre the and rear drives the torque from one drive shaft to a front or rear differential a hypoid gear set that transmits a hypoid pinion has, which is attached to the drive shaft and one meshing toothed ring which is connected to the differential case is. Despite the widespread use of hypoid wheels in the The automotive industry has the following problems. Hypoid gear sets are very sensitive to the right latent position between the meshing gears. Already very small movements of one of the wheels under load, for example, an axial movement of the pinion in one direction tion along the pinion shaft relative to the ring gear or a imprecise axial arrangement of the pinion shaft during assembly construction, lead to transmission errors. Because of the relatively large Spiral angle of the pinion that reach or exceed 50 ° hypoid wheels are very difficult to forge, which is why so far this inexpensive method in the manufacture of Hypoid wheels have not been applied compared to others commonly used methods.
Another problem is that the total mass of the conical Hypoid wheels are larger than that of cylindrical gears change, which leads to a higher weight compared to the cylindri leads. In the manufacture of hypoid tooth A lapping process is usually used, where a finely ground material on the interacting rä which is sprayed while engaged to the waiter improve the surface quality of the meshing wheels, to reduce transmission errors. As soon as this lapping Procedure is complete, the gears are considered as merged considered appropriate adapted sentence, that is, they are not interchangeable with other bikes. A sprocket of this set cannot be replaced by another sprocket. After all, the geometry of the cutting tool is here position of the hypoid wheels considerably more complicated than that of cutting tools for the production of cylindri wheels.
Die Erfindung betrifft einen Achsantrieb. The invention relates to an axle drive.
According to a preferred embodiment, the final drive comprises a housing, an input shaft and an output shaft, the are each rotatably supported in the housing. A first end the input shaft ends in a pinion gear that a is cylindrical pinion. The final drive also includes one Differential device for transmitting torque from the input shaft to the output shaft. The differential has a differential housing that rotatably mounted in the axle housing is as well as a spur gear that ver with the differential housing is bound. The cylindrical pinion and the spur gear are standing engaged with each other.
A major advantage of the invention is the reduction in sensitivity the alignment between the pinion and the Spur gear and the improved manufacturability compared to corresponding conical gear sets of previous axle drives.

Fig. 1 shows in section the final drive 10 according to the invention. The drive 10 may include a rear axle drive of a vehicle (not shown) in a preferred embodiment. The drive 10 has an axle housing 12 with a front section or carrier 14 and a rear section 16 . The front and rear housing sections 14 and 16 are connected to each other, e.g. B. by screws 17th The front housing part 14 has an extension 18 through which a bore 20 extends. An input shaft 22 is arranged centrally in the bore 20 and rotatably supported in the front housing part 12 by means of an outer pinion bearing arrangement 24 and an inner pinion bearing arrangement 26 . A drive pinion 28 is fixed shaft having a first end 30 of the input 22, and accordingly rotates with the shaft 22 about a longitudinal axis 32nd A yoke 29 is fixedly connected to an opposite end 31 of the shaft 22 by means of a locking ring and a nut 33 . The yoke 29 can be coupled in a conventional manner with a drive shaft, not shown, of a vehicle, whereby torque from the drive shaft to the input shaft 22 of the arrangement 10 is transmitted.
The arrangement 10 also has first and second output shafts 34 and 36 , which can be connected to the wheels, not shown, of a vehicle, e.g. B. the left and right rear wheels of a road vehicle or off-road testimony. The output shafts 34 and 36 are correspondingly rotatable in shaft housings 38 and 40 . The housing 38 and 40 he extend from an inner position within concentric lateral output bores 42 and 44 accordingly, which are formed in the lugs 45 and 47 of the housing 12 . The housings 38 and 40 are preferably pressed onto the attachments 45 and 47 accordingly and can additionally be spot welded to the attachments 45 and 47 at a plurality of circumferentially spaced locations (not shown). The final drive assembly 10 further includes a differential 48 for transmitting the torque from the input shaft 22 to the output shafts 34 and 36th The differential 48 has a differential housing 50 which is rotatably mounted in the housing 12 by means of bearings 52 and 54 which are arranged in ra dial graduated parts of the bores 42 and 44 . The differential 48 also has a ring gear 56 , which on the differential housing 50 by means of conventional means such. B. screws 58 is attached. The ring gear 56 meshes with the drive pinion 28 so that the ring gear 56 and the differential housing 50 rotate about an axis 60 when the pinion 28 rotates about the longitudinal axis 32 . The differential 48 also has side bevel gears or differentials 62 and 64 which are fixedly connected by conventional means to the inner ends of the output shafts 34 and 36 respectively and are disposed within the housing 50 . A pin 66 extends in opposite holes in the differential housing 50 and is with the latter by conventional means, for. B. connected a locking pin 67 . Accordingly, the pin 66 rotates with the housing 50 about the axis 60 . Each side gear 62 and 64 is in driving A handle with a pair of differential pinions 68 which are rotatably mounted on opposite ends of the pin 66 . The rotation of the pin 66 and the pinion 68 about the axis 60 thus causes a corresponding rotation of the side bevel gears 62 and 64 and the output shafts 34 and 36 about the axis 60 . In this manner, when the input shaft 22 rotates, torque is transmitted from the shaft 22 to the output shafts 34 and 36 to drive the vehicle wheels via the pinion 26 and the differential 48 including the ring gear 56 .
In FIGS. 2-5, the specific construction shown the on drive pinion 28 and the ring gear 56 and also the cavities Liche connection between the wheels 28 and 56. The drive pinion 28 and the ring gear 56 are cylindrical gears. The cylindrical pinion 28 can be a spur gear or a helical gear. The pinion 28 rotates about the longitudinal axis 32 , and the ring gear 56 about the axis 60 , which runs through the differential 48 and also forms the axis of rotation for the output shafts 34 and 36 . The axes 32 and 60 form a shaft angle 70 between them. In a preferred embodiment, the shaft angle 70 is essentially 90 °. However, as mentioned above, the shaft angle 70 can also be different from 90 °. As Fig. 1 shows, the input shaft 22 is angled relative to the two output shafts 34 and 36. Further, when the shaft angle 70 is substantially 90 °, the input shaft 22 is practically perpendicular to the output shafts 34 and 36 . If the shaft angle 70 is different from 90 °, the shaft 22 extends obliquely relative to one of the shafts 34 and 36 and forms an acute angle with the other.
As shown in FIG 3A., The pinion 28 and the ring gear 56 may be arranged vertically relative to one another so that the axis 32 and the axis 60 are substantially horizontally aligned zueinan of and intersect at a point 72, as shown in FIG. 3A. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 3B, the pinion 28 and the ring gear 56 can be positioned vertically relative to one another such that the axis 32 is vertically offset from the axis 60 by a dimension 74 . The axis 32 can be offset above the axis 60 , as shown in FIG. 3B, but also alternatively below the axis 60 . The relative positions of the pinion 28 and the ring gear 56 can therefore form a plurality of drive train assemblies of the vehicle. Regardless of whether the pinion 28 is a spur gear or a helical gear, it has a plurality of involute teeth 76 , as shown in FIG. 4. Each tooth 76 has involute flanks 78 that extend between an upper end face 80 of each tooth 76 and a lower surface 82 of the gear 28 that is present between adjacent teeth 76 . The cylindri cal ring gear 56 has a plurality of teeth 84 which are shaped so that they are compact with the involute teeth 78 of the cylindrical pinion 28 . Each tooth 84 has an upper end face 86 , the width of which changes from the heel to the tip. As Fig. 5 shows, the tooth 84 above a heel width 88 that is less than the upper tip width 90 of the end face 86 has.
Fig. 6 shows part of an alternative final drive arrangement Anord 10 'with the cylindrical pinion 28 which is fixed to the input shaft 22 and an alternative ring gear 56 ', which is in engagement with the pinion 28 . The pinion 28 and the ring gear 56 'rotate according to the axes 32 and 60 '. As shown in Fig. 6, the axes 32 and 60 'form a wel lenwinkel 70 ' between them, the angle 70 'being shown as an acute angle in Fig. 6. Alternatively, the shaft angle 70 'can also be an obtuse angle. The shaft angle 70 'can advantageously be in the range between 85 and 95 ° in the embodiment shown in Fig. 6. As shown in Fig. 6, the pinion 28 is a cylindrical pinion, the plate wheel 56 ', however, is a conical ring gear with a cone angle 57 , through which a correct engagement with the pinion 28 is maintained because the shaft angle 70 ' of 90 ° deviates. Otherwise, the features and functions of the axle drive 10 'are practically the same as those of the axle drive 10 including the possibility that the axes 32 and 60 ' are either aligned substantially horizontally with each other or are vertically related to each other, as in the FIGS. 3A and 3B is shown in connection with the axle assembly of the tenth As with assembly 10 , cylindrical pinion 28 may be a spur gear or a helical gear, and in any case it has involute teeth. The ring gear 60 'has teeth which are compatible in terms of their shape with those of the pinion 28 , and they are essentially the same as the teeth 84 of the ring gear 56 shown in FIG. 5.
In some cases, which depend on the gear ratio between the pinion 28 and the ring gear 56 , the front widths of the wheels 28 and 56 as well as other parameters, e.g. B. the heel width 88 of FIG. 5 become undesirably narrow unless appropriate precautions are taken. Fig. 5 now shows a section similar to Fig. 2, with another alternative ring gear 56 '' is shown to avoid these loading conditions for those applications in which such undesirable reductions in the width of the upper heel width can occur. The pinion, which meshes with the plate wheel 56 '' has been omitted in Fig. 7 for clarity. The ring gear 56 '' has an inclined upper surface 92 on each tooth 84 '' which extends between a rear outer surface 94 and an upper end face 86 ''. The end face 86 '' of each tooth 84 '' is substantially co-planar with each surface 86 '', which extends at a first angle 96 relative to an axis 60 '' about which the Tel lerrad 56 '' rotates. The inclined surface 92 of each tooth 84 '' is oriented at a second angle 98 relative to the axis 60 ''. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 7, the angle 96 is essentially 90 ° and the second angle 98 is an acute angle. The formation of the inclined surface 92 on each tooth 84 '' prevents undesirable narrowing of the upper end face 86 '', adjacent to the rear end of the teeth for such applications in which this condition occurs. Although an inclined surface 92 is shown as a feature of the cylindrical ring gear 56 '', equivalent inclined surfaces can also be used in conjunction with a conical ring gear, as shown in Fig. 6 ge, to an undesirable narrowing of the corresponding upper to avoid rear width.
In operation, the yoke 29 of the axle drive 10 receives the torque from a vehicle drive shaft, which leads to a rotation of the input shaft 22 . The torque is transmitted from the input shaft 22 to the output shafts 34 and 36 via the pinion 28 , which is fastened to one end of the shaft 22 and via the differential 48 , which contains the plate wheel 56 , which is in engagement with the pinion 28 . The use of a cylindrical drive pinion 28 with Evol venten teeth 76 improves the manufacturability and interchangeability of the gear 28 compared to the commonly used hypoid wheels of previous drive axle assemblies. Furthermore, the cylindrical wheel 28 and the cylindrical ring gear 56 or the conical ring gear 56 'are less sensitive to misalignment during assembly than corresponding hypoid wheels (each of which is tapered) of previous final drives. Finally, the enveloping or boundary curve of the drive pinion and the meshing ring gear of the invention, in particular with respect to the embodiment according to FIGS . 1-5, is smaller compared to the meshing conical gears up to the final drives, which enables more compact and lighter drives.
Modifications of the invention are possible. For example the axle drive, although shown as a rear axle drive, also be a front axle drive. Even the cylindrical Drive pinion and the meshing ring gear, either cylindrical or conical, also in drives other than axis driven, used.
