Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a detector for electromagnetic radiation at least one receiver and at least one pour the detector zenden housing with window.
Detectors for electromagnetic radiation of the type specified are for example as a self-monitoring flame detector for monitoring Rooms or industrial processes.
One example is fire protection in paint shops, where both the actual The painting chamber and the feed area of the paint components are monitored must become. The areas are extremely vulnerable because, besides the flammable Chen high-voltage paint mist is present. Here are particularly high numbers demands on the safe functioning of the flame detectors. Latter are also exposed to the paint mist. Similar high requirements for spark detectors in lines for dusty goods (20-30 m / s Conveyor speed) must function safely.
From US 5,182,445 a sensor for fax machines is known, in which in nern a transmitter and a receiver are arranged and the transmitter on Sensor mounted window illuminated. On the outside of the window the document to be scanned is passed. This sensor works not the detection of one from an external radiation source, for example a flame, emitted electromagnetic radiation.
Darüber hinaus ist durch die Beleuchtung von außen eine Vertiefung erforderlich, die nicht für alle Einsatzfälle geeignet ist.DE 42 40 395 A1 describes a detector for detecting electromagnetic Radiation is known in which on the outside of the housing on the edge of Covering a transmitter is arranged. The lighting of the disc from outside is only possible if the transmitter itself has a window. This is an additional source of interference. The aperture of the transmitter is relative small and can therefore be much stronger due to small dirt, ins special particle or liquid drops can be influenced. About that in addition, a recess is required due to the lighting from the outside is not suitable for all applications.
According to DE 94 11 435 A1 it is proposed that the receiving devices as imaging elements contain light guides, each having at least one Have receiver wire and at least one transmitter wire and the Sen the core essentially ends at the aperture of the receiver core. Thereby each receiving device is self-monitoring. At this known design protrude the light guide for the transmitter over the Lichtlei ter for the recipient. This results in a deepening that is not is suitable for all applications.
The object of the invention was, in the case of flame or spark detectors, which regularly have at least one window to protect the detector, monitor the window surface for contamination.
According to the invention it is provided on a detector for electromagnetic Radiation with at least one receiver and one pouring the detector to arrange a transmitter with a window inside the housing, that illuminates the window. Here, a part becomes on the window surfaces reflecting the radiation. This reflected signal is especially off depending on the reflective properties of the outer window surface. As a result, their condition, but also the light radiation, can be registered the one from the transmitter in the immediate vicinity of the outside of the window is thrown back. This can reduce the functionality of the detector be better monitored. When it comes to filing on the outside of the window of dirt or in the case of the spark detector If the good comes, the reflection behavior of the windows changes surface. When used in painting systems, in particular, festge whether there is a layer of paint on the detector or an overlay Detector window has formed bulging color bubble.
According to a preferred embodiment, the transmitter is directly on the Lei terplatte, which carries the evaluation electronics attached. This gives a simplified structure. In this case the transmitter is preferred an optical rod or an optical fiber connected by which Light of the transmitter (for example LED or IRED) close to the inner one Window surface, such as in the area of the receiver level.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the transmitter is at the receiver, arranged in particular in one unit.
Using optical fibers, receivers and Transmitters can be provided with several receiving heads. In addition there are transmitters and receiver with leading to the window of the respective receiving head Optical fibers connected. This creates the possibility of using a Receiver and, for example, one transmitter monitoring at several Place the room to be monitored or when using the evaluation electronics from the receiving head to only one optical fiber Remove so that an explosion-proof execution is achieved for example, the evaluation electronics do not originate from those at the observation site electrical field strengths and temperatures is influenced.
The invention is explained in more detail using exemplary embodiments.

In Fig. 1, a detector 1 is provided with a housing 6 and a window 11 . The outer window surface 12 can be specially coated in order to optimize the reflection at this interface. The transmitter 3 is immediately attached to the circuit board 5 for the evaluation electronics. The light sent out is guided via the light guide rod 4 in the area of the receiver 2 . Receiver and light source are therefore relatively close to the window surface, so that there is little loss. A relatively low manufacturing outlay is advantageous in this embodiment. All essential parts are pre-assembled on the circuit board.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the transmitter 3 is formed in one unit with the receiver 2 .
In Fig. 3, a detector 1 is shown for a plurality of receiving means 8. The detector 1 has a receiver 2 and one or more transmitters 3 . A transmitter, for example an LED or IRED, is preferably arranged for each transmitter wire. As a result, the individual receiving devices can be timed in succession or continuously controlled. The evaluation electronics can therefore selectively determine the contamination of the individual receiving devices 8 . The receiver wires 9 are combined on the detector housing 10 to form a common bundle and correspond to the receiver 2 . By a fixed transmitter signal, the receiver 2 is excited when required or constantly. If this signal is now <10%, for example, there is a fault in the optical measuring device. The disturbance can even be selectively detected by clocked transmitter signals. The detector housing 10 is rotationally symmetrical angeord net. A suitable optical insulation is provided between the transmitter wire 4 and the receiver wire 9 .
With this solution, the transmitter wire can be regarded as the transmission path of a reference signal. Both a break at a receiving device, in particular the receiver wire, and partial damage can be detected. In addition, the contamination of the optical window of the receiving wire is detected. This is the case, for example, if the radiation from the transmitter reflected by the window 11 is greater than a fixed reference value. By emitting the reference signal be known size, a disturbance in the receiving electronics can be determined. For example, it can be determined whether the test function (self-test of the transmitter / electronics) is working properly or whether the receiving element is defective. The detector can remain fully functional during the test phase itself. The individual receiving devices can be checked selectively. When the detector or detector is fully operational, the event test can advantageously be carried out at intervals or manually (real spark test).
According to Fig. 4, the transmitter optical fiber 4 is guided centrally, the receiver optical fibers 9 surrounding this concentrically about.
