Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a damped front wheel suspension with brake infeed compensation for vehicles, especially for two and three-wheelers.
Front suspension increases driving safety and improves driving Comfort. When driving over obstacles (such as curbs, crossways creasing) at higher speeds, undamped wheels lose quickly the ground contact, which leads to poor handling, disturbed cornering and extended braking distances; also shock and vibrati on the driver's joints and muscles. Despite the positive effects of Known front wheel suspensions in these areas provide braking a serious problem: the braking torque increases Load on the front wheel, the spring system compresses, and the driving the front of the tool dives. This brake deflection process can Reduce clear travel to zero and penetrate shocks unfiltered to let. In the worst case, the vehicle geometry can temporarily do so be changed so that there is a rollover.
Various front wheel suspension systems are offered. With all systems the available travel due to a lack of deflection com compensation drastically reduced when braking. An elaborate Vierge steering system with trapezoidal axle suspension, which in G 94 03 640.3 is offered offers deflection compensation, but are high weight and time-consuming maintenance of the many moving parts Disadvantage. Common spring elements are, for example, metal springs, poly mer blocks, composite or gas pressure springs. Have a dampening effect usually oil hydraulics and polymer blocks.
The object of the invention is a one- or two-sided, effective sprung, uncomplicated and low-maintenance front wheel guide with brake to compensate for deflection and long spring travel. Wish Different deflection directions of the Front wheel. In addition, the sprung front wheel guide is said to be low Breakaway torque and high torsional rigidity.
The invention relates to a one- or two-sided front wheel guide. The front wheel is preferably equipped with a disc brake system ( Fig. 1). The rigid rocker ( 2 ) is in the swivel joint ( 3 ) with the fork leg ( 1 ), in the swivel joint ( 4 ) with the front wheel axle. The brake caliper ( 6 ) of the disc brake is preferably rigidly connected to the rocker ( 2 ). If a brake system other than a disc brake is used, the brake system stator is preferably connected rigidly to the rocker ( 2 ) as a brake force transmitter directly or by means of a connecting element. If the spring element is not integrated in the joint ( 3 ), the spring element ( 9 ) is preferably steered via a rod ( 8 ), which is at the articulation point ( 7 ) with the rocker arm ( 2 ) and at the articulation point ( 10 ) with fork leg ( 1 ) or fork bridge ( 11 ) is rotatably connected. The distance of the articulation point ( 7 ) from the joints ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) depends in practice on the properties and design of the damped spring element ( 9 ); by varying the distance, the spring behavior of the unit can be changed without replacing the spring element ( 9 ). The Federele element ( 9 ) itself can be changed in a few simple steps due to the good accessibility, if necessary together with the link rod ( 8 ). The design allows the optional installation of different, commercially available spring elements. By using spring elements with a linear or progressive spring characteristic, the sprung wheel guidance is tailored to individual requirements (for example, on-road or off-road use). The spring system is preloaded by the weight of the vehicle and the payload, whereby the straight line through ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) is preferably aligned parallel to the driving level (idle state).
A braking process causes an intrinsically increased front wheel load. When the brake system is actuated, a complex force is generated in the swing arm system and applied to the fork leg directs the downward force of the braking load that the triggers unwanted brake springs, is opposite. The brake deflection is actively counteracted.
In the event of a sudden shock load, such as when driving over a con If there are any obstacles (stone, root), the system springs against the direction of travel, with the front wheel axle on the fork bridge closed. In addition to convex obstacles that cushion these so-called positive travel cause concave obstacles (Potholes, gutters) temporary relief when driving over. The Maintaining contact with the ground is achieved by rebounding the system allows a coordinated negative travel from the Hibernation out (the front wheel moves away from the fork bridge). The design enables in both cases from the idle state a wheel deflection against the direction of travel; high driving comfort, verbes improved steering behavior and increased safety are achieved. The Erfin tion enables the use of an advantageous, non-linear spring path geometry. The wheel deflection here consists of a vertical and a horizontal component together; the effectively usable travel is therefore always larger than the vertical deflection. At the beginning of an on the vertical component predominates. With increasing load the shares shift in favor of horizontal movement. In the In practice, such a permanent, load-dependent change in the on suspension direction a subjectively pleasant, soft cushioning of bumps even under the influence of high loads, which is particularly the case with strong, fast successive impacts is advantageous. Common, linear spring path geometries have constant horizontal and vertical parts and generate in practice when driving over convex obstacles subjectively the uncomfortable feeling of an impact.
Crucial advantages of the invention lie in the active brake input compensation, in the numerous tuning options of the spring systems and - especially compared to known four-bar drives - in low weight, simplified maintenance and due to the reduced Number of moving parts in an expected low breakdown leadenness. The two-joint construction enables optional installation of more than one spring element. The variant in the form of the two-sided Front wheel guidance is ideal for use under very high Charges. Generously dimensioned travel lengths are combined the one with an advantageous, non-linear travel geometry. Of the Negative suspension travel increases driving comfort and safety. Spring elements can who can be changed easily and quickly thanks to the free accessibility the. The low breakaway torque and the high twist are advantageous stiffness advantage of the two-joint construction.
Seven exemplary embodiments are shown in the drawing and are described in more detail below.
1. Fig. 1 shows an embodiment when using a brake disc ( 5 ) and a spring element ( 9 ) with compression spring and Zugdämp ferstufe. The pivot point ( 7 ) for the spring element is positioned between the pivot points ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) above the brake caliper ( 6 ) on the rocker ( 2 ) and lies on the straight line through these two points. The distance between the pivot points ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) is divided 1: 1. When the swing arm rotates around the pivot point ( 3 ), the pivot point ( 4 ) travels a distance that is exactly twice as long as the path of the pivot point ( 7 ). The rocker arm is 1: 2. The second articulation point ( 10 ) lies on the fork leg ( 1 ) near the fork bridge ( 11 ). The spring element ( 9 ) is articulated as far as possible from the rocker arm via a rod ( 8 ) in the vicinity of the articulation point ( 10 ). This variant is particularly suitable for sporty two-wheelers on the road and at high speeds.
Fig. 2 shows an embodiment variant when using the brake disc ( 5 ) and a spring element ( 9 ) with compression spring and damper stage. The brake caliper ( 6 ) is firmly connected to the rocker ( 2 ). To ensure that the swing arm can swing out unhindered, a fork leg ( 1 ) is used, which is bent against the direction of travel. The pivot point ( 7 ) for the spring element ( 9 ) is positioned between the pivot points th ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) on the rocker and lies on the straight line through these points. The rocker arm is 1: 2. The link rod ( 8 ) connects the spring element and the link point ( 10 ), which is located on the fork leg near the fork bridge ( 11 ). In order to minimize contamination of the spring element ( 9 ), it is mounted as close as possible to the rocker ( 2 ) 40 . To save weight, the rocker ( 2 ) has a concave recess between the brake caliper ( 6 ) and the pivot point ( 3 ). This variant is particularly suitable for light, resilient off-road vehicles, such as mountain bikes in cross-country use.
3. Fig. 3 shows a variant when using a brake disc ( 5 ) and a spring element ( 9 ) with tension spring and compression damper stage. Articulation point ( 7 ) for the spring element is positioned on the straight line through the two pivots ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) against the direction of travel ( 3 ) on the elongated rocker arm ( 2 ). The swing arm lever results from the ratio of the lengths of the distances between points ( 7 ) and ( 3 ) and points ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) and is 2: 3. The brake caliper ( 6 ) is located below the distance through ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) and is firmly connected to the rocker. To minimize contamination of the Federele element, the spring element is attached as close as possible to the rocker in the lower area of the fork leg ( 1 ). The link rod ( 8 ) is connected to the fork bridge ( 11 ) via the link point ( 10 ). The variant is particularly suitable for heavy-duty off-road vehicles, such as light motorcycles or mountain bikes in cross-country use.
Fig. 4 shows a variant brake disc ( 5 ), three potential articulation points ( 7 a, 7 b, 7 c) and brake caliper ( 6 ) on the rocker ( 2 ) and a spring element ( 9 ) with compression spring and tension damper stage. The articulation points ( 7 a, 7 b, 7 c) are positioned between the pivot points ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) on the rocker and lie on the straight line through these two points. There are three different rocker arms to choose from: 1: 4 at position ( 7 c), 1: 2 at position ( 7 b) and 3: 4 at position ( 7 a).
The spring properties can be changed in this way without changing the spring element by repositioning the rod ( 8 ). The second articulation point ( 10 ) lies on the fork leg ( 1 ) at a distance from ( 4 ) which preferably corresponds to the front wheel radius. The fork leg ( 1 ) is bent below the fork bridge ( 11 ) in an S-shape to allow unhindered swinging out of the swinging system. The spring element is arranged to protect against dirt at a distance from the pivot point ( 4 ), which corresponds approximately to half the front wheel radius. The variant is particularly suitable for heavy-duty two-wheelers and can be used due to the setting options where quick, problem-free regulation of the spring properties is desired.
5. Fig. 5 shows an embodiment with a brake disc ( 5 ) and two parallel spring elements ( 9 a, 9 b), which are each provided with pressure spring and tension damper stage and are articulated via two rods ( 8 a, 8 b). Two articulation points ( 7 a, 7 b) lie above the brake caliper ( 6 ) on the rocker ( 2 ) between the pivot points ( 3 ) and ( 4 ), the articulation points ( 10 a, 10 b) are one above the other on the fork leg ( 1 ) arranged below the fork bridge ( 11 ). The rocker arm for the spring element ( 9 a) is 3: 4, that of the spring element ( 9 b) 1: 4. By installing the same or different spring elements, the spring properties can be adjusted exceptionally fine. At the same time, this variant enables the front wheel suspension to be used under high loads, such as those encountered in difficult terrain, when driving at high speeds or with high front axle loads.
Fig. 6 shows a two-sided wheel guide with double disc brake se (two brake discs ( 5 a, 5 b) and two brake calipers ( 6 a, 6 b)) and double swing-spring element system when using spring elements ( 9 a, 9 b) with one compression spring and one damper stage. The articulation points ( 7 a, 7 b) for the spring elements are positioned between the pivot points ( 3 a) and ( 4 a) or ( 3 b) and ( 4 b) on the respective rocker ( 2 a, 2 b). The spring elements are articulated via rods ( 8 a, 8 b). The swing arm is 1: 2 on both sides. The articulation points ( 10 a, 10 b) lie on the fork legs ( 1 a, 1 b) near the fork bridge ( 11 ). The Fe derelemente ( 9 a, 9 b) are also arranged as close as possible to the fork bridge ( 11 ). The fork legs are flattened in the swing area of the swingarms towards the wheel to prevent contact between the swingarm components and fork legs. The fork legs are close to the wheel, where they are minimized by lever forces. Depending on the application, the same or different spring elements can be used, the spring properties allow you to adjust them exceptionally fine. This version is particularly suitable for use under extremely high loads, such as can occur during high-speed off-road driving (mountain bike downhill) in difficult terrain or with motor-driven vehicles in off-road use. When used on the road, the system is stable under high front axle loads and can also be used for motor-driven vehicles (for example, trikes).
Fig. 7 shows an embodiment variant when using a drum brake system. The spring element ( 9 ) has a compression spring and tension damper stage. The brake drum ( 5 ) rotates around the drum brake stator ( 12 ), which is connected at point ( 6 ) to the rocker ( 2 ). The articulation point ( 7 ) for the spring element with articulation rod ( 8 ) is positioned between the pivot points ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) on the rocker and lies on the straight line through these two points. The rocker arm is 1: 2. The second pivot point ( 10 ) is on the fork leg ( 1 ) near the fork bridge ( 11 ). The spring element is arranged in the vicinity of the articulation point ( 10 ). Depending on the dimensions of the drum brake, different load levels are possible. The cost-effective braking system enables this variant to be installed in vehicles in the lower price ranges.
Fig. 8 shows a variant with a brake disc ( 5 ) and a spring system ( 7 ) which is integrated in the swivel joint ( 3 ). The fork leg ( 1 ) is bent below the spar lock ( 8 ) in an S-shape to allow a wide deflection of the rocker ( 2 ), on which in addition to the pivot points ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) there is also the brake caliper ( 6 ) . This variant is characterized by good protection of the spring element against contamination, by a minimal number of moving parts and thus by ease of maintenance. Generously dimensioned bearings can be used for high loads (motor-driven vehicles, off-road use, high speeds). The range of applications is exceptionally wide and ranges from muscle-powered to motor-driven vehicles.
