Abstract

The invention concerns a thrombo-protective insert whose action is based on the mechanical activation of the foot vein pump attached to the sole. A special elastic pressure cushion secured to a backing rapidly compresses the veins in the sole and empties the blood therein into the deep veins in the leg. The venous back-flow of blood is thus intensified, resulting in physical prevention of thrombosis, a further result being a detumescent effect. The invention also concerns the use of the insert for detumescence and the prevention of thrombosis, as well as in further types of patient (e.g. with post-thrombosis syndrome, lymphatic oedema, varicose vein operations).

Description

A. M. N., R. H. Fox 1992: The venous footpump: influence on tissue perfusion and prevention of venous thrombosis. Ann Rheum Dis 51: 1173-1178, s. Anlage 2). It is known that by gypsum immobilization of the lower limb of humans Deep vein thrombosis increasingly occurs (Kock, H.-J. et al. 1993: Ambulante Thrombosis prophylaxis with low molecular weight heparin with gypsum immobilization of the lower limb. Surgeon 64: 483-491, p. Attachment 1). An essential role in the Emergence of these thrombosis plays by slowing blood flow through the Immobilization of the affected limb. To promote venous backflow The leg veins recently became an electrically driven pneumatic one Pump ("AV pulse system") described in thrombotic patients the blood flow from the deep soles of the feet to the heart and also the Ab limb swelling promotes (Gardner, A.M.N., R.H. Fox 1992: The venous footpump: influence on tissue perfusion and prevention of venous thrombosis. Ann Rheum Dis 51: 1173-1178, p. Appendix 2). This electric pump can be stationary treated patients with plaster casts are used to treat an ab to achieve swelling and physical thrombosis prophylaxis. Here is the However, due to the expensive and elaborate electric pump, patient considerably in his Restricted movement.

The inventions specified in claims 1 and 2 have the problem based on the clinical application of the general principle of promoting the ve nosen Rückstroms by the physiological foot vein pump to unite considerably fold, and above all to make it usable for outpatients.

This problem is solved by the Merk in claims 1 and 2 male (1. mechanical instead of pneumatic use of the foot vein pump, 2. work treatment of the thrombosis protection insert in plaster casts and other splints, 3. Reusability in shoes, immobilizing and compressing bandages solved).

The advantages achieved with the invention are in particular that now outpatients increase the physiological foot vein pump for thrombosis prophylaxis and swelling can use. Other advantages are in the cost savings and simplified applicability compared to the previously known electric pump to see.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention is given in claim 2. The Training according to claim 2 enables the expansion of the principle of Use of the physiological foot vein pump for swelling and thrombosis prophylaxis to other patient groups (e.g. with post-thrombotic syndrome, Lymphedema, varicose vein surgery).

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings and is in following described in more detail.

The effect of the thrombosis protection insert is based on the activation of the foot veins pump on the sole of the foot. By the one attached to a base and by one The (removable) holder can also be positioned using special pressure pads The soles of the feet compress quickly when they appear and empty them inside blood in the deep leg veins. This will cause the venous backflow of the Blood is optimized in the sense of physical thrombosis prophylaxis and it results additionally a decongestant effect.
