Abstract

Two electrodes (2,4) and an intermediate ion exchange membrane (3) form a fuel cell of tubular form. The H2 electrode (2) is the innermost electrode and is surrounded by the membrane and then the O2 electrode. The H2 electrode forms a central H2 inlet (1) and a gas-permeable protective sheath (5) can be provided on the outside of the assembly. O2 e.g. from the air passes to the O2 electrode through the sheath.

Description

The invention relates to a fuel cell according to the preamble of claim 1. Fuel cells as such are known.

The manufacture of such fuel cells is complex (housing, electrodes made of e.g. As carbon, titanium or austenite).

The invention had for its object to provide a fuel cell, the ma is quick and therefore inexpensive to manufacture.

The object is achieved by the combination of features of patent claim 1.

A fuel cell according to the invention can advantageously, for. B. with Extrudierver drive can be manufactured in several steps. Initially in long units The tubular part (tube with several layers) can be produced in appli cation-specific lengths (sold by the meter), e.g. B. cut who used the.

The fuel cell can also be operated in reverse as an electrolyzer.

The fuel cell according to the invention is described in more detail with reference to the drawing ben.

The fuel cell, the z. B. is air breathing, consists of a tubular electrically conductive hydrogen electrode 2 with a hydrogen inlet 1 , which is surrounded concentrically to lying by a bilaterally coated with catalyst ion exchange membrane 3rd

This membrane is also concentrically surrounded by an electrically conductive air / oxygen electrode 4 . Finally, a gas-permeable protective tube 5 can be attached.

The hydrogen is introduced axially into the hydrogen electrode 1 . The oxygen is e.g. B. from the air, radially from the outside.

The required oxygen (air) can also be concentrated concentrically by another ordered pipe (hose) are fed axially, from where it penetrates radially.
