Description
Polyurethan-ElastomerePolyurethane elastomers
The invention relates to highly elastic, linear, segmented Polyurethanes having segments resulting from monourea dihydrazides as chain extenders, and a Process for the production of such polyurethanes.
It is known that essentially linear, relatively high molecular weight NCO pre-adducts are used (hereinafter referred to as NCO pre-adducts or NCO prepolymers for short called), made from higher molecular weight polyhydroxy compounds (if necessary with the addition of smaller amounts -, of low molecular weight diols) and excess molar amounts of organic diisocyanates, in highly polar, organic solvents such as dimethylformamide with essentially bifunctional chain extenders containing 2 active hydrogen atoms implement, obtaining viscous solutions of substantially linear polyurethane elastomers obtained from the Solution can be deformed into elastic threads or foils. In particular, diamines are preferred as chain lengthening agents aliphatic or araliphatic structure, hydrazine or dihydrazide compounds are used. Diamines and hydrazine have a very high reactivity towards the NCO pre-adducts, which preferably have aromatically bound NCO groups, which is why there is a high risk of inhomogeneous, crosslinked formation Shares ("jellyfish") arise within the elastomer solution. There are a number of ways to reduce this networking tendency chemical modifications or complex technical devices

Dihydrazide compounds as chain extenders (cf. DB? 1 123 467), on the other hand, show a reactivity towards NCO pre-adducts that is so far reduced that their reaction is particularly good; can conduct without undesired chemical crosslinking with "swelling" of the solution occurs. Such polyurethane elastomer solutions can be spun into highly elastic threads that have high tear strength and low permanent elongation. It has, however, shown that those under a preload elastomer threads as lengths in hot air much stronger in air at room temperature and have h strain after unloading a high residual. Even after hydrothermal treatment (for example in boiling water), in particular of pre-tensioned elastomer threads (for example at 100% elongation), the residual elongations are high. This low resistance of such dihydrazide-extended elastomer threads, extended for example with succinic acid or adipic acid dihydrazide> against elongation under thermal or hydrothermal conditions, is particularly undesirable in finishing and dyeing processes.

Cu oder Mg ) unter Verfärbung der Fäden, wodurch das Aussehen ungefärbter Gewebe vermindert wird, wenn auch kein Einfluß auf die Festig-■ - ■■,.-.- "- Furthermore, such elastomer threads, e.g. when using carbodihydrazide as a chain extender, react when exposed of traces of certain metal ions (e.g. Cu or Mg) discoloration of the threads, giving the appearance of undyed fabric is reduced, even if there is no influence on the

Used instead of the dihydrazides for the reaction with the NCO pre-adducts Bissemicarbazides as chain extenders, e.g. 1,2-ethylene-bissemicarbazide or 1,4-tetramethylene-bis-semicarbazide, so the solubility of these bissemicarbazides is very unfavorable, so that - depending on the structure of the bissemicarbazides - they remain partially undissolved even in boiling dimethylformamide can. In addition, no technically spinnable elastomer solutions are obtained, since these change into a gel-like state during production or after a short period of time. Probably the resulting polyurethane elastomers are

The solvent is only insufficiently solvated and is therefore separated out as a pasty gel which cannot be deformed into threads or films, or only with great difficulty. Solutions can only be produced from them at elevated temperatures by adding larger amounts of salts such as LiCl, CaOIo or CaBr 2; but such an addition of salt has a negative effect on spinnability «
There are also already alkylene-bis-carbazine esters as chain extenders has been proposed for polyurethanes. Such polyurethanes chain-extended with alkylene-bis-carbazine ester but show relatively low melting points, and threads made from such chain-extended polyurethanes show a very unsatisfactory one (hydro) thermal behavior, i.e. they elongate under load at higher temperatures, and especially during testing very strong in hot water and then show after discharge very high residual elongations. There is also an extreme drop in tension in hot water when threads or fabrics appear certain stretches are held. In many cases the threads tear off under test conditions in hot water. This Behavior of corresponding elastomer threads is of great disadvantage when corresponding fabrics are used in finishing and dyeing processes treated under tension in hot water or steam - (See comparative experiments in the examples).

'—■-- Elastomers with good properties result, the level of which is considerably higher than that of comparable elastomers with dihydrazide extension. The solubility of the monourea dihydrazides in the highly polar solvents is also sufficient to carry out a normal chain extension reaction. Particularly excellent properties are shown by the polyurethane elastomers / R = -CHp- and - (CHp ^ -J extended with urea-diacetic acid hydrazide and urea dipropionic acid hydrazide, which is why they are preferred as a bifunctional compound with 2 active H atoms for chain extension of the NCO pre-adducts are used, especially when the polyurethanes are processed into elastomer threads. After spinning the solution in conventional dry or hass spinning processes, such elastomers produce high-quality elastomer threads with significantly improved thermal and hydrothermal properties combined with very good strength and elastic properties. The threads and foils are color-stable to heavy metals, for example copper ions, and show better resistance to hydrolysis than comparable dihydrazide compounds xide or U-methylpyrrolidone. '- ■ -
The reaction of the isocyanate pre-adducts with the chain extender is preferably carried out with approximately equivalent amounts (based on the NCO-G content), for example 100-120 $, preferably 100-110 mol $, of chain extenders, expediently at temperatures from about 0 to 130 0 G, preferably 20-80 C, in solvents. The higher the selected excess of chain extenders, the lower the molecular weight of the polyurethane is - as a result of chain termination. Careful addition of further - preferably less reactive aliphatic di- or triisocyanates - can be used to set the desired molecular weight or the solution viscosity (according to German patent specification 1,157,386). After the desired viscosity has been reached, the unreacted end groups can be stabilized by reacting with monoisocyanates such as butyl isocyanate, carboxylic acid anhydrides, e.g. acetic anhydride, phthalic anhydride or other acylating substances, e.g. acid chlorides or carbamic acid chlorides.

The elastomer solutions can be prepared by the most varied of processes known per se by evaporation or coagulation of the solvent are freed, partly with the simultaneous formation of the desired shaped bodies, such as threads or films. Films or coatings are produced by drying the elastomer solution on substrates, e.g. glass plates or textiles. Threads can can be obtained by wet or dry spinning processes. Microporous Coatings are created by spreading elastomer solutions onto (possibly textile) substrates (e.g. fleece), possibly Exposure to moist air and subsequent coagulation in Non-solvents for the polyurethane, e.g. water or aqueous solutions. With suitable additives such as finely divided salts, emulsifiers or soluble polyamides, the microporosity of the films can be increased.

Nach beendeter Veresterung fügt man 460 ml Benzol hinzu und destilliert das entstandene Veresterungswasser azeotrop ab, schließlichThe esterification of ß-alanine with alcohol / HCl is very difficult easy. The isolation of the ester chlorohydrate (pp 65-70 °) according to the literature by adding ether to the esterification solution with cooling is not at all feasible on a large scale, The procedure is therefore as follows: 712 g of ß-alanine (8.0 mol) are suspended in 920 ml of alcohol, 400 g of HCl gas are passed in, the mixture being heated to the boil in 20 minutes and boiling for a total of 120 minutes holds. A clear solution is obtained after approx. 90 minutes. After finished Esterification is added to 460 ml of benzene and the resulting water of esterification is azeotropically distilled off, finally
