Abstract
Description
Dabei fällt ein schwergewichtiger metallhaltiger Schlamm an.The invention relates to a method for processing heavyweight, metal containing dust or sludge for blowing into a metallurgical process. Dusts or sludges of the type in question are particularly common the manufacture and processing of stainless steels. A stainless steel becomes a steel type, which is generally used for heat treatment, such as tempering is determined because of their uniform response. By special manufacturers stainless steel has a higher purity than quality or basic steel (cf. Brockhaus, Science and Technology, Special Edition 1989, Volume 1, Keyword). Electric furnaces are preferred for the production of stainless steel Arc heating used. Steel scrap and Le Alloy components melted to the stainless steel melt. The one in the melt gases Dust contained is very fine and has a high specific weight, which is more than 4 g / cm³. The dust becomes electric in the electric furnace filter deposited. But also washing out the dust from the melt gases with water is common. A heavy metal-containing sludge falls at.
Through the use of scrap in the electric arc furnace for the production of Normal and alloy steel is u. a. Zn (zinc) introduced at the high Temperatures evaporated in the metallurgical vessel and separated in the flue gas becomes. This dust from the dry dedusting, which is contaminated with the heavy metal Zn or sludge from wet dedusting can only be disposed of in special landfills or recycled through elaborate separation measures.
For the vaginal preparation process of such Zn-contaminated dusts or sludges it is of great economic advantage if the Zn content is above 25% is enriched.
The enrichment is u. a. thus achieved that the Zn-contaminated dusts or sludges are circulated several times and an An over it Zn enrichment is reached. Enrichment can be up to 45 weight percent and more.
The situation is similar with the further processing of what is obtained from the melt Stainless steel in the rolling mill. Here too falls an exceptionally heavyweight Rolled scale sludge, which in addition to the metallic component also lumpy Contamination of metallic parts, organic material or plastics contains. This list contains larger pieces of metal, such as screws and Cleaning rags, cigarette butts and work gloves, yogurt cups and plastic bag, in short everything that is possible with waste next to a rolling mill and more or less chance of being washed down into the marsh of the mill scale sludge, in the foreground of the impurities to be considered. About the stainless steels the above also applies to the extraction and processing of quality and base steel.
All of the metallic ones that arise when extracting basic, quality and stainless steel Dusts and slurries have in common that, in addition to the fine particle size, that is Fine grain in the grain size range from a few µm to 1 mm, more or less have large proportions of alloy metals. These alloy metals include especially chrome, cobalt, nickel, manganese, tungsten, titanium, vanadium, zinc and Mo. lybdenum, which differentiates the individual steel types according to given recipes be added and ultimately in addition to the iron content for the above-mentioned heavy weight of the dusts and sludges are responsible. Although these dusts and sludges because of the Le It was previously the case that the constituents of the alloy are actually valuable substances due to the intrinsic fine-grained nature and heavy weight not in too to a sufficient extent possible to recover these recyclables and to continue recycle. In many cases, the recyclables ended up in some landfill where they came from For reasons of environmental protection as well as from an economic point of view don't belong.
There has been no shortage of attempts to remedy this. For example, is out DE-OS 20 02 654 a method for processing an iron-containing sludge became known for subsequent use in sintering plants. The ferruginous Sludge, which by non-ferrous metals such as chrome, nickel and. the like, is contaminated, based on its weight, up to 15% burnt lime, iron-containing dust, like gout dust and a fine-grained or dusty carbon carrier, like Coke dust, mixed in at the same time and the mixture becomes approximate with access to air stored for a day or two. The mix obtained in this way is crumbly and is characterized by a particularly good gas permeability, which it for the one suitable in the sintering plant. That remains on this application well-known mix, however, largely limited, because only the crumbly making heavyweight metal-containing sludges is not enough to the product thus obtained differently than on a sintered belt, for example by Ein blow into a blast, electric arc or cupola furnace in a metallurgical Process to use.
A similar order is made with the applicant's known from DE 42 00 533 A1 processes for treating waste. This is a mixture of solid and liquid waste materials, which contains at least one metal, i.e. a metal-containing sludge, first homogenized. The homogenized mixture then a fine-grained, dry substance, which contains fly ash and or coke, in such amount added and mixed with it until the resulting mixture in the form of agglomerates is present, which is for recycling in a thermal process can be supplied. The mixture should have a consistency at which it can be conveyed pneumatically.
Apart from the fact that in the known method, the preparation of difficult important, metal-containing dusts are not directly addressed, the Further experience of the applicant showed that the blowing of heavy weighty, metal-containing dusts or converted into a similar consistency Slurrying is not so easily possible.
Because of their heavy weight, these substances tend to to settle in all possible places of a blow line, so that this within clogged in no time.
The problem of the present invention arises from this knowledge, difficult to process heavy, metal-containing dusts or sludges in such a way that they ver for blowing into a metallurgical process in a reliable manner become available. The process should be simple and economical at the same time to dispose of more than the metal-containing dusts and sludges Include relevant waste materials.
The solution to this problem is with the distinctive features of the Hauptan achieved.
When processing heavyweight, metal-containing dusts, and more In addition to the ones already mentioned, they also include those for grinding steel fall in the first process step by mixing with fine particles Quicklime or dolomite the flowability of the slag in the subsequent metal lurgic process increased. It is no different when processing heavyweights metal-containing sludges, and this includes, in addition to those already mentioned Grinding sludge, in the first process step. The preferred use of finely divided fly ash, the mostly stab-resistant sludge is first dried off net and thus made manageable. The percentage of burned lime in the fly ash or the slag from the ladle furnace, which can also be used excellently this process of drying in an advantageous manner by using the free quicklime the moisture of the sludge reacts exothermically, causing a significant portion of the the moisture contained in the sludge evaporates for the next one lime additive, which is advantageous for the metallurgical process, remains undiminished ten.
With the subsequent sieving in the second process step, a uniform cheeses below 6 mm ⌀. At the same time, the foreign bodies per endured by the so-called "rolling up" in particular the Walzzun derschlammes were exposed in the first step. These foreign objects and larger lumps are then sieved, the latter possibly still once ground up and back into the process cycle at a suitable point can be inserted.
In the third step, the screened fine fraction is finally carbon-containing dusts and limestone-containing agglomerates added and intimately with it mixed. This last process step contributes significantly to the gravity the importance of metal-containing dusts and sludges to the extent that they become blowable.
In the case of added carbon-containing dusts, the use of Brown coal coke dust, petroleum coke or anthracite or dust of little or never drig volatile coal or mixtures thereof preferred, their respective Grain size is below 1 mm ⌀. The addition of carbon promotes as is known, the foaming of the slag in the subsequent metallurgical process This additive is used in the treatment of metal-containing sludges from the upper surface treatment, such as grinding sludge, or with mill scale understandably sludge due to the oil content contained therein may turn out to be less than with sludges containing such organic admixtures do not bring them on their own, for example with sludges from the wet Melting gas cleaning.
But the addition of carbon-containing dusts is not enough to achieve that To achieve blowing ability of the product. Rather, a carrier material has to be made to which the mixture of metal-containing dust, calcium and carbon can be stored to further reduce its specific weight.
Limestone-containing agglomerates in spherical form have proven suitable for this purpose, as they arise in the treatment of boiler feed water from steam power plants, who work with steam turbines. These agglomerates are small bright, stable globules with an average diameter of 1 to 2 mm, the extraordinary The grain size spectrum ranges from 0.5 to 6 mm. These balls fall when descaling and de-icing the steam turbines suitable boiler feed water. There is a in the center of the beads tiny quartz granules to which the lime and water removed from the boiler feed water have deposited the iron in crystalline form. The color of these beads is beige, they have a smooth surface and a high compressive strength. More normal They are disposed of wisely at the landfill.
In the case of the present invention, the beads are particularly suitable as carriers for the mixture of heavy metal particles, lime and carbon. For the bond electrostatic forces as well as the moisture from the Water treatment with which the resulting beads are afflicted. Your shares in Silicon, lime and iron are promoted for the subsequent metallurgical process Lich and do not disturb this at all.
The invention is based on a highly simplified method scheme for example explained.
In a roll stand 1 , a slab 2 made of stainless steel is rolled into sheet 3 . The rolling process is supplied with water 5 under pressure from a nozzle 4 . The swept mill scale 6 collects as mill scale sludge 7 in a trough 8 below the roll stand 1 .
Coal 10 is burned in a power plant boiler 9 . The resulting hot flue gas 11 sweeps over heat exchanger surfaces 12 , in which boiler feed water 13 circulates, which is converted into steam 14 at the heat exchanger surfaces 12 . At the end of its path through the power plant boiler 9, the flue gas 11 passes through an electrostatic filter 33 , where the fine-particle fly ash 15 carried by the flue gas 11 is separated before it can be released into the atmosphere via the chimney 16 .
The mill scale sludge 7 and parts of the separated fly ash 15 are fed to a first mixer 17 , in which the mill scale sludge 7 is “rolled up” with the fly ash 15 , ie both components 7 and 15 are intimately mixed with one another in the mixer 17 . When mixed with the fly ash 15, the moist mill scale sludge 7 dries and acquires a crumbly consistency. Water evaporates. As a result of the exothermic reaction of the calcium oxide contained in the fly ash 15 with the moisture of the mill scale sludge 7 , the first mixture 18 leaving the mixer 17 also has a temperature which is higher than the ambient temperature.
The first mixture 18 is passed through a sieve 19 , where a fine fraction 20 is sieved. The overflow 21 of the sieve 19 contains the foreign bodies and impurities found in the mill scale 7 ; these are discarded. The Feinfrak tion 20 in the grain size range below 1 mm flows to a second mixer 22 , where it is mixed with brown coal coke dust 23 and calcareous agglomerates in the form of beads 24 , whose average grain size is between 0.5 and 2 mm.
The balls 24 come from a filter 25 , where the boiler feed water 13 of the power plant boiler 9 is processed in a manner appropriate for the turbine. After the steam 14 has been expanded in the steam turbine 25 , it flows through a condenser 26 , where it condenses again to the boiler feed water 13 . The condensed boiler feed water 13 is printed by a feed water pump 27 through the filter 25 where it is prepared for. For this purpose, quartz granules 28 are fed to the filter 25 , where the lime and iron contained in the boiler feed water 13 accumulate in order to form the spheres 24 . Losses of boiler feed water 13 are compensated for by fresh water via line 29 .
The product 30 made of finely divided metals, lime and carbon leaving the second mixer 22 has a dry, powdery consistency with grain sizes between and 6 mm and an average specific weight of 2 g / cm 3. The product is blowable and is blown into a blast furnace 32 by a blower 31 .
