Abstract
Description
The invention relates to multiple W / O / W emulsions containing Polyolpolyhydroxystearaten as Emulsifiers and a process for their preparation.
Toil. 105, 65 (1990) und 106, 97 (1991)].Multiple emulsions are emulsions of emulsions. Depending on the preparation one differentiates multiple water / oil / water (W / O / W) and oil / water / oil (O / W / O) emulsions. The most important user Multiple emulsions consists of active substances that are otherwise immiscible or can be assembled in a recipe. Another advantage is that the Wirk substances can be released over a longer period of time. Multiple emulsions are therefore especially for the manufacture of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products of be special meaning [Cosm.Toil. 105, 65 (1990) and 106, 97 (1991)].
Acta.Helv. 66, 343 (1991), sowie von Seiller und Luca in Bull.Tech/Gattefosse Rep. 80, 27 (1987), S.T.P. Pharma 4, 679 (1988) und Int.J.Cosmet.Sci 13, 1 (1991).A particularly elegant process for the preparation of multiple emulsions is described by S.Matsumoto in J.Coll.Interf.Sci 57, 353 (1976): Hereinafter, first at elevated temperature and prepared under strong shear a Prae emulsion, which is then at ambient temperature and is introduced under mild shear in the aqueous solution of a hydrophilic emulsifier. The emulsifier pair used is sorbitan monoleate and polyethylene glycol derivative. From the scope rich state of the art is also known that as hydrophilic emulsifiers for the preparation mul emulsions basically monoglycerides, sorbitan esters, polysorbates and highly ethoxylated fatty al alcohols are considered. Representative is here on the publications in Pharm. Acta.Helv. 66, 343 (1991), and by Seiller and Luca in Bull. Tech / Gattefosse Rep. 80, 27 (1987), S.T.P. Pharma 4, 679 (1988) and Int. J. Cosmet. Sci 13, 1 (1991).
From Yakugaku Zasshi 112, 73 (1992) are also known W / O / W emulsions, the glycerol trifatty acid esters as oil bodies and hydrophilic polymers, such as gelatin, as a stabilizer contained. The use of albumin and polyacrylates as stabilizers for the what serphase and nonionic surfactants for the oil phase is known from J.Controlled Release 3, 279 (1986). However, such formulations have not been particularly in temperature fluctuations sufficiently stable on storage. From European Patent Application EP-A1 0 174 377 (Meji Milk Products) is also the concomitant use of Polyglycerinpolyricinoleaten as emulsifiers for Production of multiple emulsions known. However, these emulsions have just as well Temperature fluctuations proved to be insufficiently stable.
The preparation of stable multiple emulsions requires the use of high molecular weight, lipophilic Emulsifiers. In an article by P.Hameyer and K.R.Jenni in Parf.Kosm. 75, 12, 842 is added For example, the use of cetyl dimethicone copolyols described. Because of the proportion of Polyoxyethylene groups will use this group of emulsifiers for use in skin cosmetic Pro However, they have been controversial lately. Also from a publication by K.Stickdom et al. in Parf.Kosm. 75, 904 (1994), methods for the preparation of multiple emulsions are known. Here in Both two-stage process with hydrophilic, ethylene oxide-containing emulsifiers in the second däremulsion as well as one-step process using only EO-containing Emul described for which the above concerns may also apply.
The object of the invention has thus been stable, even with respect to temperature variations to provide consistent multiple W / O / W emulsions that employ one From a technical point of view, cetyl dimethicone copolyols are at least equivalent to lipophilic ones Emulsifier with, however, improved skin-cosmetic properties included. Furthermore, the should Emulsions should be as free as possible of hydrophilic, ethylene oxide-containing coemulsifiers.
The invention relates to multiple W / O / W emulsions which are obtained by precipitation from an oil and a water phase in the presence of Polyolpolyhydroxystearaten as emulsifiers, first a produces primary W / O emulsion I and then emulsified with a water phase II.
Surprisingly, it has been found that Polyolpolyhydroxystearate in general and Polyglycerol polyhydroxystearates in particular as effective lipophilic emulsifiers for the preparation of multiple W / O / W emulsions and thus from an application point of view, at least equivalent substitute for cetyl dimethicone copolyols; at the same time, the ethylene oxide-free Polyolpolyhydroxystearate better skin cosmetic properties. The invention further includes the recognition that the co-use of hydrophilic ionic or nonionic emulsifiers to stabilize the phases is no longer absolutely necessary. After all prove the Polyglycerinpolyhydroxystearate against Polyglycerinpolyricinoleaten in terms significantly improved on the temperature dependence of the emulsifying effect.
For the purposes of the invention, emulsifiers for the preparation of multiple W / O / W emulsions in Considering Polyolpolyhydroxystearate represent known substances, which one after the one Proceeding process of preparative organic chemistry can be obtained. In a preferred embodiment, polyglycerol polyhydroxystearates are used as emulsifiers obtained by adding polyhydroxystearic acid with an intrinsic degree of condensation in the Range of 2 to 20, preferably 2 to 10, with a polyglycerine mixture of the composition (GC method)
Typischerweise wird die folgende Verteilung (GPC-Methode) erreicht:(Oligoglycerine ad 100 wt .-%) esterified in a conventional manner; in brackets are the preferred areas. The preparation of the Polyolpolyhydroxystearate can in a conventional manner respectively. In the case of Polyglycerinpolyhydroxystearate is preferably the first polyglyce and then the polyhydroxystearic acid and finally both esterified. The production a polyglycerol of the above composition may be obtained by self-condensation of Gly Cerin in the presence of suitable catalysts such as potassium carbonate, silicates according to DE-A1 40 29 323 (Henkel) or borates according to DE-A1 41 17 033 (Henkel) at temperatures in Be rich be carried out from 200 to 260 ° C. The preparation of polyhydroxystearic acid takes place at For example, by alkaline-catalyzed polycondensation of hydroxystearic acid, preferably 12- Hydroxystearic acid gewon by hardening of ricinoleic acid or technical castor oil will become. In this case, preference is given to linear esterification products having 2 to 10 and in particular 2 to 8 fatty acid units formed. Typically, the following distribution (GPC method) is achieved:

bezogen auf W/O-Emulsion).Preparation of the primary W / O emulsion. An oil phase A consisting of
6.0% by weight of dicapryl ether (Cetiol® OE),
6.0% by weight of hexyl laurate (Cetiol® A),
7.0% by weight of cetearyl isononanoate (Cetiol® SN),
3.0% by weight of isocetyl alcohol (Eutanol® G 16),
1.0% by weight of glyceryl oleate (Monomuls® 90-O 18),
1.0 wt .-% beeswax and
1.0% by weight of zinc stearate as well
3 wt .-% of the emulsifier polyglyceryl-2-polyhydroxystearates (Dehymuls® PGPH) were melted at 80 ° C and stirred until homogeneous. In addition, a water phase B consisting of 66.0% by weight of water, 5.0% by weight of glycerol and 1.0 magnesium sulfate was likewise heated to 80 ° C., added slowly to the oil phase A with stirring and 5 min at 80 ° C emulsified. The resulting primary W / O emulsion I was cooled and homogenized at 60 ° C. Stirring was after 30 min (percentages based on W / O emulsion).
Preparation of the multiple W / O / W emulsion. To 40% by weight of the primary W / O emulsion I was added while stirring slowly 60 wt .-% of a water phase II consisting of 99.4 wt .-% water, 0.3 Wt .-% Carbopol® 981 and 0.2 wt .-% formaldehyde. Subsequently, the pH became adjusted to 6.5 by the addition of 0.1% by weight of potassium hydroxide.
