Description
If necessary, the pH of the treatment solution can be adjusted with phosphoric acid; a pH of 3.5 to 4 is preferably maintained.
The treatment solution sprayed on according to the invention can be produced from a concentrate which can contain up to 100 percent by weight of monoalkali and / or monoammonium orthophosphate. It preferably contains 60 to 97 weight percent monoalkali and / or monoammonium orthophosphate and 3 to 12 weight percent benzoate, calculated as sodium benzoate, 0 to 7 weight percent hydroxylamine or its salts, calculated as NH 2 OH, 0 to 3 weight percent molybdate, calculated as Na 2 MoO 4 and 0 to 12 percent by weight surfactant.
The concentrate can be in a concentration of about 3 to 10 g / l of water, preferably 4 to 6 g / l Water. For the preparation of the treatment solution, tap water or in the Condensation water that occurs in the company can be used.
According to the invention, the treatment solution is sprayed onto the surfaces to be treated with a pump pressure of approximately 10 to approximately 75 atmospheres. The following pump systems, for example, can be used to generate the high pressure: double-acting piston pump with compressed air drive; Piston pump with electric motor drive; multistage centrifugal pump; Gear pump. The pump preferably draws a temperature of about 50 to 8O 0 C containing treatment solution from the reservoir. After compression to the required high pressure, the solution is passed over one or more lances, at the exit of which there are suitable nozzles. It is advisable to use flat jet nozzles with an output of 4 to 6 liters of solution per minute. The lance is expediently handled in such a way that the spray nozzle is guided crosswise past the surface to be treated at a distance of about 10 cm. In general, you will start at the upper end of the object to be treated so that the draining solution comes into contact with parts that have already been treated as little as possible. When using surfactant-containing solutions, the surface is usually free of grease and fully wetted after 10 to 15 seconds. Aided by the distribution of the treatment solution in very fine droplets at high speed, it reacts quickly with the iron surface and in a short time leads to a thin, closed iron oxide-iron phosphate layer. Depending on the size, shape and surface condition of the object to be treated, about 1 to 5 m 2 of surface per minute can be treated with ProLanze.
In order to avoid larger batch units for the treatment solution, it is also possible to use pre-concentrates to use that contain up to 100 g / l of the above concentrate and this over suitable Bring valves with fresh water in a mixed line to treatment concentration.
B.After the surfaces have been treated, they are generally rinsed briefly with cold water. This can be done by means of the same lances, which are switched accordingly, or also by separate ones Flushing devices. Workpieces that are then painted should expediently be included must be rinsed with fully demineralized water in order to achieve good paint resistance. A follow-up treatment with a corrosion-inhibiting, e.g. B.
You can of course, if desired, can be connected downstream. A particular advantage of this preferred embodiment with the use of a benzoate additive, however, it is that the treated surfaces with or without subsequent Water rinsing when drying in the air are hardly susceptible to rust, so that in general
Ihre Anwesenheit ist daher unerwünscht.ίο drying in the oven or by blowing off with Compressed air is not necessary. An increased susceptibility to rust when the treated objects are left to dry in air, however, occurs when the treatment solution has significant levels of condensed phosphates contains. Their presence is therefore undesirable.
The method according to the invention opens up due to its high effectiveness, its low effectiveness equipment and chemical effort, its simple application and fast operational
It is particularly advantageous for companies in which large workpieces such. B. Agricultural machinery, buses, Trucks, bulky structural parts, etc. are manufactured or the number of items they produce every day is only small, e.g. B. Production of special bodies or smaller series, but also for repair and Maintenance operations.
The method according to the invention is particularly suitable for the surface treatment of iron and steel. The iron oxide-iron phosphate layer produced in this way is blue to reddish in color and generally has a coating weight of about 0.3 to 0.8 g / m 2 . The layer is an excellent primer for subsequent painting and the application of other organic coatings.
Mitteln vorgereinigt. The process can also be used for treating surfaces made of zinc, aluminum and their alloys.
Surfaces with excessive contamination are expediently pre-cleaned with suitable agents.

The sheets of the HI series using the conventional spraying process treated, showed a paint infiltration of 3 mm already after 92 hours.
Der öffnungswinkel der Flachstrahldüsen betrug etwa 65°.In an automobile plant, automobile bodies were used for pre-treatment prior to painting treated by the high pressure process according to the invention. Both solutions were adjusted with phosphoric acid to a pH value of about 4, and heated with immersion heaters to a temperature of about 8O 0 C.
The treatment solutions were each sprayed onto the workpieces with a nozzle output of around 4 liters per minute. The temperature of the sprayed solution was about 6O 0 C; the distance between the nozzle and the metal surface was 10 to 20 cm. Starting from the upper part of the workpiece, the spray jet was slowly guided downwards in a double cross-pass. About 1 to 2 m 2 of sheet metal surface were treated per minute. After about 10 minutes, the cleaning and the formation of a top layer of the entire workpiece were complete. The bodies were then sprayed with water and the remaining film of water allowed to dry in the air, which took about 3 to 5 minutes. When using solution A, flash rust appeared after a waiting time of around 30 seconds. On the other hand, when using solution B, the body could be air-dried without the occurrence of corrosion.
In a further experiment, the cleaned, phosphated and water-rinsed bodies were also prepared using a high-pressure method with a solution containing 0.16 g / l CrO 3 and 0.03 g / l Cr (III) ions and about 50 ° C. with deionized water rinsed. In this case, bodies treated with both solution A and solution B could be dried in the air without the occurrence of corrosion.
Die Lackschichtdicke betrug etwa 25 μ,ΐη.Normally greased steel sheets of the quality RRSt 1405 m according to DIN 1623 sheet 1 were treated with the solutions A and B given in Example 2 for 1 minute at a pump pressure of about 30 atmospheres.
