Schichtstoff mit Verstärkungseinlage und Verfahren zu seiner HerstellungLaminate with reinforcement insert and Process for its manufacture
The invention relates to a laminate with soft webs of material, for. B. paper, nonwoven nonwovens and films and a reinforcement pad.
Insbesondere tritt dieser Nachteil auch bei Schichtstoffen auf, welche eine gute Zerreißfestigkeit in einer Richtung aufweisen, die meistens zu Lasten der ZerreißfähigkeitWith the known laminates from the relatively cheap In the aforementioned material, the lack of tensile strength is always felt to be a major disadvantage. In particular this disadvantage also occurs with laminates which have good tensile strength in one direction have, mostly at the expense of the tensile strength

Numerous efforts have been made here been to increase this tensile strength, the material webs of the laminates at right angles to each other have been connected to one another or strong fibers or yarns have been arranged within the laminate, to eliminate the lower tensile strength, these fibers also in both directions, i.e. across and along the laminate. It is It has also become known to provide paper or non-woven fabrics and the like with a layer of gauze that is placed between the Material webs made of non-woven fibers or creped material arranged and with the gluing of the whole Material web were attached by means of a suitable adhesive, creating a reinforced paper or a reinforced nonwoven fiber web was created. Another way of reinforcing these materials was trodden with a non-woven cover, which in the form of two sets of intersecting fiber bundles as Reinforcement was introduced into the laminate and with the intersecting fiber bundles at their crossing points occasionally were also connected to each other.
The above-described ways of reinforcing the laminates led to an increase in the tensile strength to a certain extent, however, posed various difficulties. The woven gauze e.g. B. reveals nodes or raised points at the intersection points, which caused raised areas in the finished product. In order to eliminate these elevations, the non-woven cover or a gauze material made of only slightly
909881/1323909881/1323
Resiliently twisted yarns were used, the laminate was then calendered and the elevations were flattened so that there were no rough spots within the surfaces of the laminates. However, this way of eliminating the difficulties encountered by the reinforcement insert sets one additional operation of pressing and calendering for the purpose of smoothing the intersection points of the yarns, whereby the manufacturing costs are increased significantly.
Another problem encountered with these reinforced laminates is that when there is a load occurs at a crossing point, this load is generally only taken up by the yarn, which runs in the corresponding direction, d. i.e. that the first strand of yarn, which is exposed to the tensile load, this across the laminate or in the longitudinal direction the same transmits.
According to the invention this problem is eliminated in that when the laminate is subjected to a tensile load is, this is transferred to the next intersection of the threads of the reinforcement insert and then evenly on all threads or fibers that form this point of intersection and are thus evenly distributed over the laminate.
Dies wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch erreicht, daß die Verstärkungseinlage zwischen zwei Materialbahnen angeordnet und mit diesen verbunden ist, wobei die Verstärkungseinlage aus zwei Sätzen von orientierten polymeren Fäden besteht, von denen die Fäden jedes Satzes im wesentlichenThis is achieved according to the invention in that the reinforcing insert is arranged between two webs of material and connected to them, the reinforcing insert consists of two sets of oriented polymeric filaments, of which the filaments of each set are essentially

parallel zueinander verlaufen und die Sätze so zueinander angeordnet sind, daß sich die Fäden des einen Satzes mit den Fäden des anderen Satzes kreuzen und an den Kreuzungspunkten miteinander verbunden eind, so daß auf die Materialbahn ausgeübte Zugspannungen im wesentlichen auf alle Fäden übertragen werden und damit eine gleichmäßige Zugfestigkeit derselben bewirkt wird·run parallel to each other and the sentences so to each other are arranged so that the threads of one set cross with the threads of the other set and the intersection points are connected to each other, so that Tensile stresses exerted on the material web are essentially transferred to all threads and thus one uniform tensile strength of the same is effected
In a preferred embodiment for the reinforcement insert it is provided that this one made of oriented polyethylene or oriented polypropylene threads formed network.
Particularly good tensile strength properties result, if at least one of the material webs is creped and / or at least one of the material webs is a fibrous one Material web is.
Very good transmission moments for the tensile load result from the fact that the threads of the sets are in cross at an angle of about 90. Here the The threads of one set run lengthways and the other set crossways to the laminate, with the threads running in the longitudinal direction running threads are guided in a further embodiment of the invention at different angles can. The individual layers of the laminate are advantageously glued to one another.
A method for producing the laminate of the type described above provides, according to the invention, that the net-shaped reinforcement insert made of orientable plastic and this in at least one direction

The reinforcement inserts can be produced by means of an extrusion process, the reinforcement insert being produced once as a network and another time as a plastic film with subsequent perforation according to a web-like pattern.
Furthermore, it is provided as an advantageous measure that the reinforcement insert by extrusion of a network made of polypropylene.

The laminate 22 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has outer layers 20 and 21 which are fibrous materials, "as well as a net-like reinforcement insert 23 made of plastic, which has two sets of threads, the threads of each set being substantially parallel to one another and 90 degrees apart from one another are appropriate. One set 25 of the threads runs in the longitudinal direction of the laminate, while the other set 26 extends in the transverse direction thereof.
The laminate 29 shown in FIG. 3 has outer layers 30 and 31 made of creped material or the like Paper, with the reinforcement insert 32 containing two sets 33 and 3 ^ of threads, which at an angle are arranged from about 30 to the transverse direction and cross each other to form a diamond pattern.

An enlarged view of the intersection and connection points 39 is shown in FIG. 6. The individual threads run in their longitudinal direction stretched, in contrast to the design of the intersection and connection points in Fig. 7. The orientation of the threads depends on the method by which the oriented Reinforcement insert is produced »It does not matter whether the threads are stretched or offset are arranged because the intersection and connection points by the integration of those running there Threads are formed and therefore when tensile stress occurs on one of the threads, they pass through evenly the connection point is transferred to the other threads and represents a stronger reinforcement.
The material for the reinforcement insert for the inventive Laminate can be made from one of the known orientable plastics, e.g. B. polyethylene, polypropylene, Polyamide, etc. be made. The pattern of the thread arrangement can vary over a wide range as long as there are two sets of threads.
The outer layers can be made of paper, film, crepe paper, non-woven There are nonwovens or different combinations of these materials. Schichtstoffs vorbeschriebener Art wird unter Bezugnahme auf das Produktionsschema in Fig· 8 beschrieben*Laminate of the type described above is incorporated herein by reference on the production scheme in Fig. 8 described *
When making the laminate is introductory the reinforcement insert formed. This can be made in a number of ways. An advantageous one Possibility arises from an extrusion of a coherent network by the method according to U.S. Patents 2,919,467 and 3,051,987, or alternatively according to the method according to French patent 1 303 014 (US-No. 3,852,181). These procedures ensure the production of contiguous nets with rectangular or square meshes · When performing In this process, two sets of threads are formed which are formed during the extrusion of the plastic material cross and connected in their soft and fusible state at their crossing points turn around.
Another method for the preliminary production of the reinforcing insert is that indicated in FIG Production of a film from plastic and the subsequent perforation or punching out of the same in order to To produce an open plastic net or mesh structure «This can be done by actually perforating the Film done by means of a punching process, or by heating the same until the plastic melts in certain areas or by similar processes known to a person skilled in the art

This orientation can take place in the longitudinal direction or in the transverse direction or in both directions If this is the case, this can be done in two or in one work step, which the latter represents the biaxial orientation of the network. The orientation of the network consists of a stretching, whereby the temperature used and the degree of orientation are different, what depends on the strength required by the oriented material and the material used. The stretching orients the areas between the intersection and connection points to a large extent, and in some cases slightly, the connection point itself.
After the orientation, a web of material, e.g. B. non-woven Nonwoven fabric, or paper, attached to each side of the oriented mesh material and the plies connected to one another to form a laminate. This connection can be made by various methods known to those skilled in the art are known. One of these methods is the application of glue to the reinforcement insert, so that the outer layers stick to this. If thermoplastic materials are used in the outer layers, all layers can be connected by applying heat and pressure alone. If the outer layers, e.g. B. In the case of non-woven fiber fleeces, the layers can be porous can be connected to one another by applying glue to them.

According to the method known from US Pat. No. 3,051,987, a plastic net is made from polypropylene. The extrusion takes place in the form of a tube, one set of threads having a left-hand twist and the other set of threads having a right-hand twist, so that the threads cross at an angle of approximately 90 degrees. The tube is designed so that the plastic net has threads running in the longitudinal direction and in the transverse direction. The mesh size corresponds to about 12 threads per 25 tnm in each direction. The thread size is approximately 0.5 tnm (20 mils). The net is heated to about 1 ^ 0 ° C and stretched eight times in the transverse direction and four times in the longitudinal direction. The resulting reinforcement mesh has about three threads per 25 camouflage in the longitudinal direction and 1 1/2 threads per 25 mm in the transverse direction. The threads are oriented essentially constant in their longitudinal direction. The plastic net is sprayed with an adhesive and creped material (9 kg basis weight per layer) is attached to each side of the reinforcement layer and pressed together by calendering at approx. 85 ° C. and 0.7 kg / cm to form the finished laminate. The final weight of the laminate is about 640 g / m 2 with a tensile strength of about 4.5 kg in the longitudinal direction and about 2 λ / K kg in the transverse direction. The laminate has good tear resistance, good grip and flexibility with extreme strength.

A polyethylene film with a thickness of 0.25 mm is used perforated by circular punchings arranged in rows, the rows in the longitudinal direction and run in the transverse direction of the film. The perforations have a diameter of about 1.5 mm and are at a distance of about 3 mm in each direction. The perforated film will be about 130 C heated and lengthways in a ratio νοη · 6ί1 stretched and then in the transverse direction in the equal ratio, thereby forming a reticulated reinforcing pad according to the present invention. The film oriented in this way is coated with a thermoplastic of the ethyl vinyl acetate type, the has a lower melting point than the starting material. Creped material (9 kg basic weight) is used on attached to both sides of the coated reinforcement mesh and the laminate formed in this way at about 122 C calendered to bring all material layers together press. The final product has good tensile strength and persistence.
