3. Verwendung von heteroeyclisch-subsliluierten
1.3,4-Thiadiazol-Derivaten gemäß Anspruch I zur Bekämpfung von Unkraut.
Die Erfindung betrifft neue heterocyclisch-substiiuierte
1,3,4-Thiadiazol-Derivate, welche herbizide Eigenschaften
haben, sowie un Verfahren zu ihrer Herstellung.
Es ist bereits bekanntgeworden, daß man Thiazolylharnstoffe, z.B. den N-(4-Methyl-l,3-thiazolyl-2)-N'-methylharnstoff,
als Herbizid verwenden kann (vgl. BE-PS 6 79 138). Weiterhin ist bekannt, daß 2-(3',4'-Dichlorphenyl)-4-methyl-1,2,4-oxazolidin-3,5-dion
eine sehr gute herbizide, insbesondere Selektivherbizide Wirksamkeit besitzt; dieser Wirkstoff (common name:
Methazole) hat als Handelspräparat praktische Bedeutung gewonnen (vgl. »Pesticide Manual«, 4. Ausgabe,
Seite 340, und R. Weg I er, »Chemie der Pflanzenschutz- und Schädlingsbekämpfungsmittel«, Band 5,
Seite 298).

Überraschenderweise zeigen die erfindungsgemaßen heteroeycliseh-substiluierten Thiadiazol-Derivate eine
höhere herbizide Potenz, und besonders eine höhere Selektivität als die vorbekannten Thiazolylharnstoffe
und das Handelspräparat Methazole.
Verwendet man 2-Trifluormethyl-l,3,4-thiadiazolylmcthyl-harnstoff
und Oxalylchlorid als Ausgangskomponenten, so kann der Rcaktionsablauf des erfindungsgemäßen
Verfahrens durch das folgende Formelschema wiedergegeben werden:

Die Ausgangsstoffe gemäß der allgemeinen Formel (II) sind bislang noch 'licht bekannt, können aber nach
den üblichen Verfahren zur Herstellung von Alkyl-harnstoffen
hergestellt werden, z. B. durch Umsetzung von 5-Amino-l,3,4-thiadiazolen mit Alkylisocyanaten in
Gegenwart vom inerten Lösungsmitteln, wie Uen/ol
oder Tetrahydrofuran, bei Temperaturen /wischen IO
und 100" C.
Das als weiteres Ausgangsprodukt verwendete
()xalylchlorid der Formel (111) ist bekannt.
Als Verdünnungsmittel kommen für das erlindungsgemäße
Verfahren alle inerten organischen Lösungsmittel in Frage. Hierzu gehören vorzugsweise Kohlenwasserstoffe,
wie Benzol, Toluol, chlorierte Kohlcnwasserloffe, wie Chlorbenzol, und Äther, wie Dioxan und
Tetrahydrofuran.
Die Reaktionstemperaturen können in einem größeren
Bereich variiert werden. Im allgemeinen arbeitet man zwischen 50 und 140"C, vorzugsweise zwischen 60
und 120" C.
Bei der Durchführung des erfindungsgemüßen Verfahrens seizt man zweekmäßigcrweise üquimolarc
Mengen an Ausgangsstoffen ein. Bei dem Verfahren liegen die günstigsten Reaktionstemperaturen zwischen
und 120°C. Die Aufarbeitung des Reaktionsgemischcs wird in üblicher Weise vorgenommen.
Die erfindungsgeniäßen Wirkstoffe weisen starke herbizide Eigenschaften auf und können deshalb zur
Bekämpfung von Linkraut verwendet weiden. Unter Unkraul im weitesten Sinne sind alle Pflanzen zu
verstehen, die an Orten aufwachsen, wo sie unerwünscht sind. Ob die erfindungsgemäßen Stoffe als totale oder
selektive Herbizide wirken, hängt im wesentlichen von tier angewendeten Menge ab.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Stoffe können z. U. bei ilen

Besonders gut eignen sich die Wirkstoffe zur selektiven Unkrautbekämpfung in Getreide und Baumwolle.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe können in die t
üblichen Formulierungen übergeführt werden, wie Lösungen, Emulsionen, Suspensionen, Pulver, Pasten
und Granulate. Diese werden in bekannter Weise hergestellt, z. B. durch Vermischen der Wirkstoffe mit
Sireckmitteln, also flüssigen Lösungsmitteln und/oder
festen Trägerstoffen, gegebenenfalls unter Verwendung von oberflächenaktiven Mitteln, also Emulgiermitteln
und/oder Dispergiermitteln. Im Falle der Benutzung von Wasser als Streckmittel können z. B. auch
organische Lösungsmittel als Hilfslösungsmittel verwendet werden. Als flüssige Lösungsmittel kommen im
wesentlichen in Frage: Aromaien, wie Xylol und Benzol, chlorierte Aromaten, wie Chlorbenzolc, Paraffine, wie
Erdölfraktionen, Alkohole, wie Methanol und Butanol, siark polare Lösungsmittel, wie Dimethylformamid und
Dimethylsulfoxyd, sowie Wasser; als feste Trägerstoffe: natürliche Gesteinsmehle, wie Kaoline, Tonerden,
Talkum und Kreise, und synsthetische Gesteinsmehle, wie hochdisperse Kieselsäure und Silikate; als Emulgiermittel:
nichtionogcne und anionische Emulgatoren, wie Polyoxyälhylen- Fettsäure- Ester, Polyoxyäthylen-Fettalkohol-Äther,
z. B. Alkyl-aryl-polyglykoläther, Alkylsulfonate
und Arylsulfonate; als Dispergiermittel /.. B. Lignin, Sulfitabiaugen und Methylcellulose.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe können in den Formulierungen in Mischung mit anderen bekannten
Wirkstoffen vorliegen.
Die Formulierungen enthalten im allgemeinen zwischen 0,1 und 95 Gewichtsprozent Wirkstoff, vorzugsweise
zwischen 0,5 und 90.
Die Wirkstoff'.' können als solche, in Form ihrer Formulierungen oder der daraus bereiteten Anwendungsformen,
wie gebrauchsfertige Lösungen, Emulsionen, Suspensionen, Pulver, Pasten und Granulate
angewendet werden. Die Anwendung geschieht in üblicher Weise, z. B. durch Gießen, Versprühen,
Vernebeln, Verstäuben oder Streuen.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe können sowohl nach dem pre-emcrgence-Verfahren als auch nach dem
post-emergence-Verfahren, also vor oder nach Auflaufen der Pflanzen, angewendet werden.
Bei der Verwendung der Wirkstoffe nach dein post-emergence-Verfahren und dem pre-emergence-Verfahren
kann die Aufwandmenge in größeren Bereichen variiert werden. Im allgemeinen liegt sie
/wischen 0,1 und I 5,0 kg Wirkstoff pro ha. vorzugsweise /wischen 0,3 und 10,0.

Alkylarylpolyglykoläther
Zur Herstellung einer zweckmäßigen Wirkstoffzubereitung vermischt man I Gewichtsteil Wirkstoff mit der
angegebenen Menge Lösungsmittel, gibt die angegebene Menge Emulgator zu und verdünnt das Konzentrat
mit Wasser auf die gewünschte Konzentration.
Samen der Testpflanzen werden in normalen Boden ausgesät und nach 24 Stunden mit der Wirkstoffzubereitung
begossen. Dabei hält man die Wassermenge pro Flächeneinheit zweckmäßigerweise konstant. Die Wirkstoffkonzentration
in der Zubereitung spielt keine Rolle, entscheidend ist nur die Aufwandmenge des Wirkstoffes
pro Flächeneinheit. Nach drei Wochen wird der Schädigungsgrad der Testpflanzen bestimmt und mit
0 keine Wirkung,
1 leichte Schäden oder Wachstumsverzögerung,
2 deutliche Schäden oder Wachstumshemmung.
3 schwere Schäden und nur mangelnde l-jitwicklung
oder nur 50"/» aufgelaufen.
4 Pflanzen nach der Keimung teilweise vernichtet
oder nur 25% aufgelaufen.
r) Pflanzen vollständig abgestorben oder nicht
aufgelaufen.

Zur Herstellung einer zweckmäßigen Wirkstoffzubcrciiung
vermischt man 1 Gewichlsteil Wirkstoff mit der angegebenen Menge Lösungsmittel, gibt die angegebene
Menge emulgator zu und verdünnt das Konzentrat anschließend mit Wasser auf die gewünschte Konzentration.
Mit der Wirkstoffzubereitung spritzt man Tcstpflan-/en, welche eine Höhe von etwa 5—15cm haben,
gerade taufeucht. Nach drei Wochen wird der .Schädigungsgrad der Pflanzen bestimmt und mit den
Kennziffern 0 bis 5 bezeichnet, welche die folgende Bedeutung haben:

3 einzelne Blätter und Stcngcltcile zum κι Teil abgestorben,
4 Pflanze teilweise vernichtet,
