Tiefzughakentur Schibindungen

Deep-draw hooks for ski bindings
The innovation relates to improvements in a animal hook for pull cables, as used in ski bindings, and in particular to a deep-drawn hook in connection with a ski and a ski binding, in which the hook works under extreme stress conditions, such as when a skier falls or stumbles to loosen the pull cable and to relieve the foot and leg of the skier.
It is common in ski bindings. to provide a toe block against which the front part of the shoe is pressed and held by means of a pulling cable which surrounds the heel of the shoe and runs forward on both sides of the shoe to a tensioner or similar device. It is desirable that the pull cord be held down near the heel of the boot on the sides of the ski. It has been found, however, that when a skier falls forward against the tips of his skis, tremendous forces are exerted on the bones of the foot, Achilles tendon, and ankle bone of the skier. This is due to the fact that heel and feet are firmly held in a stiff and rigid shoe,
which is restrained from taking off, as would occur in a normal, unrestrained forward case. Under these circumstances it is to be regarded as highly desirable that the hold-down effect on the pull cable is only maintained as long as there is no lifting of the heel which exceeds a predetermined value.
It is an essential object of the present innovation, a pet hook for use in ski bindings to create in which the towing cable surrounding the Feree
Malisch released and from the reticent effect of the
Deep-draw hook is released when the skier's heel lifts a predetermined amount and forces are effective. to take them off even further.

A device according to the present invention comprises a plate 10, which is to be fastened by means of screws 11 to a side surface of a sloping 12 shaped. In the state of use, the hook 14 lies over the pull cable 16.

which is usually a coil spring or a cable loom, runs past the plate 10 below the protruding lip 18 of the hook 14 and thanks to the fact that this is bent down slightly in front of the hook and then slightly upwards behind the Hook runs, with the lower surface of the overhanging part

prevent any damage.
Taking into account that F1g. 2 and. 3 normal
43 shows that the h2 * ntt-re part 17 of the
Pull cable 16 was raised. This is a common situation, though
the skier bends or falls forward, putting good strain on the pull cord 16 to stretch or lengthen it and cause the heel of his shoe to rise. In such circumstances this part 17 of the pulling cable behind the hook 15 will be lifted at a sharp angle. In doing so, the cable rides on the rounded surface 20 which tends to push the cable outward and away from the side of the ski 12 and away from the surface of the plate 10. When the pulling cable is behind the hook at an even steeper or more upright angle is raised, this creates a force which is directed outwardly from the hook so that the pull cable sliding on the surface 20 is pushed even further out and eventually pushed out from under the lip 18.
This progressive process is shown primarily in FIG. When the pull cable moved and. from below
of the holding-down hook 14 is removed, the cable 16 is freed from the restraining effect of the holding-down device and the tension is relieved from the skier's shoe heel. This allows the cable to fall off the heel of the shoe and serves to prevent injurious forces from acting on the skier's foot, joint or leg.

? ig, 6 x $ there is an alternative fora. the hold-down
device, in which the plate 10, which has the hook 14,
as previously described behind the hook and at a distance from
its rounded surface 20 with a protruding Anaatz
in the form of a hump 24 which is here as a-3 cylindrical
cal sleeve is shown, which by means of the screw 25 on the
Plate 10 is attached. The rear part 17 of the Sügkabel is located
on the sleeve 24, which is sufficiently far from the rear or
rounded edge of the hook 14 is removed to allow insertion of the pull cable therebetween when the same is laid untensioned and approximately flush with the outward sloping edge of the rounded surface 20. The sleeve-type extension 24 can be metallic or
made of rubber and therefore flexible. If slight pressure is applied, if the distance is slightly less than the diameter of the cable 16, the cable can be brought into place.
