Description

Liquid-cooled brakes, especially for heavy vehicles 1. The specific heat of liquids, especially water, is many times the specific heat of metals.

The heat dissipation from a brake can be considerably improved by using a moving liquid medium. To apply this knowledge and to create brakes for heavy vehicles that can withstand the continuous load of a heavy truck, trailer or bus traveling on normal inclines at normal traffic speed, is the object of the present invention. Previously known drum and disc brakes built into the wheels. Due to the limited heat capacity of the heat-absorbing metal toilet), a considerable reduction in speed is necessary on inclines and thus disrupt the flow of traffic, especially on motorways. In accordance with the invention, the problem is solved by the following features: a) The brake, formed as a disc brake with a dry friction lock, accommodated in the wheel or driven by means of gear transmission and mounted on the axle, has circumferential, friction-coated discs and a cavity encompassing the brake discs Brake housing equipped to hold a coolant. b) The Acheontelle connected to the stationary brake housing in a force-fit manner are designed as hollow girders. By serving Naennahmen is achieved, then the overall by the 4apoelt Imutende Bremste generated heat from the coolant taken # au * -der Bremee out into the axle parts and is released into the surrounding air through their relatively large surface exposed to the airstream. The axle can be designed as a normal, hollow rigid axle or as a crank axle with a hollow crank. In a further development of the invention, a liquid container is attached to an axle part located outside the brake, or connected via hoses to the chassis of the vehicle, which has an overpressure valve opening in the direction of the liquid container and an overpressure valve opening in the direction of the cooling circuit of the brake Compensation control is connected to the brake-axis-coolant circulation. If the brake-überinässig loaded so at (a vapor form, the coolant in the tank condense again and alve flow back through the compensation * in the cooling circuit. In the figures is a Ausführungebeispiel the invention. It was a trailer crank axle selected, shown in FIG. 1 by the crank and the wheel cross-cut is. Fig. 2 shows the longitudinal section marked in Fig. 1 with AB by the Bromse. in Fig. 3 a designated in Fig. 2 'with CD Tellquerschnitt by brake and coolant space is finally shown . In the figures are numbered 1 of the tire 2, the rim and is denoted by 3, the axle shaft Last, e is means Kogel roller bearings 4 and 5 in the stationary hergestellteng of light metal closed off;. two parts existing Bremsgehäu-se stored for 6 and 7 Screws 8 connect the two halves of the housing to one another. The brake housing is on the crank axle support tube 9, which is welded to the crank axle bearing tube 10 t, flange-mounted. The crank axle bearing tube 10 has two bearing extensions 11 and 12), with the extension 11 containing the feed tube, 1 :) for refilling the coolant.
