Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Gebißplatten, das sich von den bekannten Verfahren dadurch unterscheidet, daß die Bearbeitung des GoIdbleches o. dgl., aus dem die Gebißplatte hergestellt werden soll, nicht in einer, sondern in zwei Matrizen erfolgt, von denen die eine aus Gußeisen oder Stahl besteht, während die andere auf galvanoplastischem Wege hergestellt ist. Die. letztere Matrize zeichnet sich dabei durch große Genauigkeit und Feinheit der Nachbildung aus. Es ist aber vorteilhaft, sie nicht unmittelbar zu benutzen, sondern das Goldblech zunächst in der Gußeisen- oder Stahlmatrize zu bearbeiten und ihm so im allgemeinen die annähernde Form zu geben, worauf die Gebißplatte sich leichter in die feinen Vertiefungen der auf galvanoplastischem Wege erhaltenen Kontrollmatrize einarbeiten läßt. Die Matrizen können beispielsweise dadurch erhalten werden, daß zunächst ein Abdruck des Kiefers in Wachs hergestellt und diese Wachsform dann in Gips abgeformt wird, worauf man mit Hilfe der Gipsform die beiden Matrizen herstellt. Die eiserne Matrize wird in geeigneter Weise geglättet, während dies bei der auf galvanoplastischem Wege erhaltenen Kupfermatrize nicht erforderlich ist.
