Description
So bewirken z.B. It has been known for a long time to coat pipes or sheets with a protective coating to prevent corrosion Mistake. Paints of this kind, for example based on bitumen, natural or synthetic resins, have a variety of compositions in order to be able to meet the requirements placed on them with regard to adequate corrosion protection. if the pipes or sheets coated with it are to be welded subsequently, the subsequent. shares that they decompose in the area of the silent zone due to the effect of the sweating heat with the formation of residues. This! Residues have an effect. on the structure of the welding. For example, graphite coatings cause the steel to carburize through the decomposition of de »-Gxhphite in the welding zone. Known anti-corrosion paints containing zinc or aluminum cause undesirable alloy formation in the weld zone. Well-known paints that contain, for example, polyethylene, polyisobutylene or polystyrene also have a carburizing effect. It is therefore necessary to carefully clean the curses covered with such known paints before welding in order to prevent the residues that are formed during welding from affecting the weld -can, but this cleaning is tedious and time-consuming. These disadvantages are eliminated with the invention. It consists in the fact that the coating consists of a point or plastic that is completely depolymerizable at the welding temperature, e.g. based on acrylates or methacrylates. To increase the anti-corrosive effect of the paint, z, 2. If the surfaces of the object to be protected show traces of moisture, it is advisable to add small amounts of an additional corrosion-inhibiting substance, e.g. tri @ ethanolamine, to the Zack according to the further feature of the foundation , including disazo dye contained th, The inventive coating may for example have the following composition: 35% of poly-n-butyl methacrylate, and polyisobutyl methacrylate 1o% o 0.5% commercially available plasticizers, 5% diazo dye (Gere-black) 0.5% triethanolamine 53, 5 l of commercially available solvents. A paint according to the invention is particularly advantageously suitable for the free ends of pipes to be welded to one another, the remaining length of which is covered with a coating serving for insulation, e.g. made of plastic, provided. When such pipes are stored, the uncoated pipe ends are known to be exposed to corrosion. However, this corrosion attack is avoided in a simple manner with the coating according to the invention. When the pipe ends are welded, the coating decomposes without leaving any residue and poses no risk to the quality of the welded joint. In the case of pipes provided with plastic insulation, it is known that the pipe ends that are welded to one another must be reinsulated on the construction site, for example by wrapping a plastic bandage around them. This bandage is usually glued to the pipe ends. It has been shown that the paint according to the invention forms an excellent primer for the bond,
