Die in der deutschen Patentschrift 1 275 052 betchriebenen
Perfluoralkansulfonsäurefluoraikylester lind wirksame Fluoralkylierungsmittel für nukleophile
Verbindungen. Erfindungsgemäß wird ein Verfahren zur Fluoralkylierung nukleophiler Verbiadungen
vorgeschlagen, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man einen nukleophilen Reaktionspartner mit
einer Nukleophilitätskonstanten oberhalb von 1 mit einem Sulfonsäureester der allgemeinen Formel
(RfSO2OCH2)m0, in der Rf einen perfluorierten Alkyliest
mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, Q einen hochtuorierten Alkylrest mit der Valenz m, der mindestens
Gewichtsprozent Fluor enthält, und m = 1 oder bedeutet, in praktisch stöchiometrischen Mengen
in einem für die beiden Umsetzungsteilnehmer inerten organischen Lösungsmittel umsetzt.
Als nukleophile Reaktionspartner können z. B. die folgenden verwendet werden:
(a) Salze einwertiger anorganischer Anionen. nämlich SCN", Cl", Br" und J',
(b) aliphatische Alkohole mit 1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen,
(c) aromaische Hydroxyverbindungen nut 6 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen,
(d) aliphatische Mercaptane mit 1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen,
(e) aromatische Thiole mit 6 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen,
(0 aliphatische primäre, sekundäre und tertiäre Amine mit 1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen,
(g) aromatische Amine und Aralkylamine -nit 6
bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen,
(h) heterocyclische Amine mit 2 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen,
(i) aliphatische und alicyclische Sulfide mit 2 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen,
(j) Thioharnstoff,
(k) aktive Wasserstoffatome enthaltende Verbindungen mit 2 bis 20Kohlenstoffatomen, wie z.B.
Acetylen, Cyclohexylacetylen, Phenylacetylen, Octadecylacetylen, Diäthylmalonat, Diäthyläthylmalonat,
3-MethyIacetylaceton, Acetessigester, Cyclopentadien, Phenylcyclopentylsulfon,
Thioessigsäure, Thiobenzoesäure,
(1) Diester der orthophosphorigen Säure mit Alkoholen und Phenolen mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen,
wie z.B. Dimethylphosphit, Diäthylphosphit, Dibutylphosphit, Dioctylphosphit,
Diphenylphosphit, Dikresylphosphit.
Die folgenden Beispiele erläutern die Erfindung.
Ein Gemisch aus 3,0 Teilen (0,05 Mol) Äthylendiamin,
30 Volumteilen trockenem Benzol und 33,2 Teilen Trifluormethansulfonsäure-1,1 -dihydroperfluorbutylester
wird auf Rückflußtemperatur erhitzt und allmählich innerhalb von 20 Minuten mit 10,1
Teilen (0,10MoI) Triäthylamin versetzt. Nachdem
eine weitere Stunde unter Rückfluß erhitzt worden ist, ist die Lösung homogen geworden. Sie wird dann
abgekühlt und zweimal mit Wasser gewaschen. Die Benzolschicht wird getrocknet und eingeengt und
der Rückstand destilliert, wobei N,N '-Bis( 1,1 -dihydroperfluorbutyl)-äthylendiamin
vom Kp. 97 bis 100 C mm Hg und n% = 1,3282 erhalten wird.

Eine Lösung von 8 Teilen Trifluormethansulfon- «äiire ι i-dihydroperfluoräthylester und 7 Teilen Thionhenol'in
50 Volumanteilen Äthanol, die weiterhin Sne Lösung von 2 Teilen Natriumhydroxyd in 20Teilen
Wasser enthält, wird 1 Stunde unter Rückfluß erhitzt und in Wasser gegossen. Das ölige Produkt

Eine Lösung von 3,3 Teilen des Enamins aus Cyclohexanon und Piperidin in 50 Volumteilen 1,2-Dianethoxyäthan
wird in einem geeigneten Gefäß zu 4,68 Teilen Trifluormethansulfonsäure-1,1,7-trihydroperfluorheptylester
gegeben und das Gemisch unter Rühren 4 Stunden auf Rückflußtemperatur erhitzt. Unter Kühlung werden dann zu dem Gemisch
10 Volumteile konzentrierte Salzsäure gegeben, wonach auf Eis gegossen und mit Äther extrahiert
wird. Die ätherische Lösung wird mit Wasser und 10%iger wäßriger Natriumbicarbonatlösung gewasehen,
getrocknet und eingeengt. Bei der Destillation des Rückstandes wird 2-(r,l',7'-Trihydroperfluorheptyl)
- cyclohexanon vom Kp. 100 bis HOC/ 20 mm erhalten, das ein 2,4-Dinitrophenylhydrazon
vom Fp. 143 bis 145° C liefert
Andere Enamine, die in der folgenden Tabelle III genannt sind, lieferten bei Umsetzung mit Perfluoralkansulfonsäureestern
unter Anwendung entsprechender Mengenverhältnisse die folgenden neuartigen fluorierten Carbonylverbindungen:

Eine Lösung von 47 Teilen Diäthylhydrogenphosphit, HOP(OC2H5)2, in 200 Volumteilen Tetrahydrofuran
wird innerhalb von einer Stunde mit 7,5 Teilen Nätriummetall umgesetzt. Die Lösung wird bei 25° C
gehalten und innerhalb einer weiteren Stunde allmählich mit 107 Teilen Trifluormethansulfonsäure-U-dihydroperfluorbutylester
versetzt. Die Lösung wird dann eine weitere Stunde auf Rückflußtemperatur erhitzt.
Bei der Reaktion findet eine Alkylierung am Phosphoratom statt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird
durch Eingießen in Wasser abgeschreckt und mit Benzol extrahiert. Der Extrakt wird mit Wasser gewascehn,
getrocknet und eingeengt und der Rückstand destilliert. Man erhält 1,1-Dihydroperfluorbutanphos-
phonsäurediäthylester,

Kp. etwa 72 bis 72,5°C/2,5mm Hg; n$ = 1,3489.

Nach einem ähnlichen Verfahren wird unter Verwendung von Trifluormethansulfonsäure-U-dihydroperfluoroctylester
1,1 -Dihydroperfluoroctanphosphonsäurediäthylester erhalten, eine Flüssigkeit vom Kp.
etwa 91 bis 96°C/0,35mm Hg; n% = 1,3486. Aus
anderen Sulfonsäureestern und anderen Estern der orthophosphorigen Säure wurden die in Tabelle IV
genannten fluorierten Alkanphosphonate erhalten.

Die als Produkte erhaltenen fluorierten Phosphonsäuredialkylester lassen sich leicht zu den entsprechenden
starken Säuren hydrolysieren, die Salze z. B. mit den Alkalimetallen bilden, sowie in die entsprechenden
Amine umwandeln. Diese Verbindungen sind als Korrosionsinhibitoren, oberflächenaktive Mittel
und als Zusätze für öle brauchbar.
Die folgenden Beispiele dienen der weiteren Erläuterung der Herstellung von Fluoralkylhalogeniden,
fluorierten tertiären Aminen und fluorierten Alkyläthern
und anderen Fluoralkylverbindungen. Die Beispiele 5 und 7 zeigen ferner, daß die hier verwendeten
Ester den bekannten Perfluoralkansulfonsäure-
alkyl- und arylestern in bezug auf die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeiten
in unerwarteter Weise überlegen sind.
Ester
Die Methanolysegeschwindigkeit von Trifluormethansulfonsäure-1,1 -dihydroperfluoräthylester wird
nach üblichen Verfahren,bei 10O0C verfolgt und aus
den erhaltenen Daten die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeitskonstante fur die Reaktion 1. Ordnung zu 4,28 ± 0,14
10~5 Sek."1 berechnet. Die Halbwertzeit der Methanolyse bei 100 C beträgt etwa 4,4 Stunden. Für andere
hochfiaorierte Perfluoralkansulfonsaareaikylesto wurden die in Tabelle V genannten Reaktionsgeschwindigkeitskonstanten gefunden, die in der gleichen
Größenordnung liegen.

Im Gegensatz dazu werden nichtfluorierte Alkylester.
wie z. B. Trifiuormethansulfonsäuremethylester, sehr leicht alkoholisiert, während Arylester, wie
z. B. Trifluormethansulfonsäurephenylester oder
-p-nitrophenylester oder Perfluoroctansulfonsäureanisylester keine feststellbare Alkoholyse innerhalb von
24 Stunden bei 96° C zeigen.
Ein geeignetes GeQB wird mit 46,4 Teilen (0.20Mol)
Trifluormethansulfonsäure-1,1 -dihydroperfluoräthyl-
«o ester und 32,2 Teilen (0,44 Moi) Diethylamin in 100 Volumteilen Benzol beschickt. Nach 1 stündigem Rühren
und Erhitzen auf Rückflußtemperatur scheidet sich ein bräunliches Dl ab. das sich beim Abkühlen auf
0r C verfestigt. Es wird isoliert und mit kaltem Benzol
gewaschen. Es handelt sich um Diäthykmmoniumtrifluormethansulfonat
Die Benzollösung und die Waschflüssigkeit werden zusammengefaßt und mit 100 Volumteilen 10%iger

wäßriger Salzsäure extrahiert. Der Säureextrakt wird mit Äther gewaschen und mit Natriumhydroxyd
neutralisiert. Das ölige Produkt wird mit Äther extrahiert. Diese Extrakte werden über Magnesiumsulfat
getrocknet und sorgfaltig eingeengt. Dann wird durch eine Kolonne destilliert, wobei 1,1-Dihydroperfluoräthyldiäthylamin,
eine Flüssigkeit vom Kp. 89 bis 91°C/740mm Hg, n% = 1,3508, in einer
Ausbeute von 84% erhalten wird. Das Hydrochlorid, Fp. 164 bis 1650C, wird analysiert:

Die Perfluoralkansulfonsäureester sind sehr brauchbar zur Herstellung der 1-Halogenide der polyfluorierten
Alkohole. Die Reaktion geht viel leichter vonstatten als wenn nach dem Verfahren von
Tiers, Brown und Reid, Journ. Amer. Chem. Soc. 75, 5978 und 5979 (1953), unter Verwendung
von Tosylaten gearbeitet wird. Das hier beschriebene Verfahren läßt sich auch auf andere Alkalihalogenide
anwenden und auch mit anderen Sulfonsäureestern durchführen.
Ein geeignetes Gefäß, das mit Thermometer, Destillationsaufsatz und mechanischer Rührvorrichtung
versehen ist, wird mit 30 Teilen (0,2 Mol) Natriumjodid und 100 Volumteilen wasserfreiem Aceton beschickt.
Die Temperatur steigt auf 35'C, wonach 23,2 Teile (0,1 Mol) Trifluormethansulfonsäure-l.l-dihydroperfluoräthylester
zugegeben werden. Die Temperatur steigt in 5 Minuten weiter auf 50° C und fällt dann innerhalb von 1,5 Stunden auf 40°C. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wird auf Eis gegossen und die schwerere organische Schicht abgetrennt, mit einer kleinen
Menge wäßriger Natriumthiosulfatlösung zur Entfernung von Jod gewaschen, getrocknet und destilliert.
Das 1.1-Dihydroperfluoräthyljodid siedet unter Atmosphärendruck
bei 60 bis 6TC.
Bei Versuchen zur Bestimmung der Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit
von Trifluormethansulfonsäure-1, 1-dihydroperfluoräthylester mit Jodionen in Aceton
bei 25 C wurde gefunden, daß die Reaklionsgeschwindigkeitskonstante der Reaktion 2. Ordnung etwa
0,0149 ± 0,003 Liter ΜοΓ1 Sek.~! beträgt. Die Geschwindigkeitskonstante
für die Umsetzung von I.l-Dihydroperfluoräthylbromid mit Joddidionen ist
aus den Ergebnissen von M c B e e und Mitarbeitern. Journ. Amer. Chem. Soc. 84,3157 (1962), auf vergleichbare
Bedingungen extrapolierbar. Man findet, das sie etwa 5 Größenordnungen, d. h. 100 OOOmal. kleiner
ist.
Die Umsetzung der Perfluoralkansulfonsäureester
mit Alkalisalzen der p-ToluoIsulfonsaurc und von
anderen substituierten und unsubstituiertcn Arylsulfonsäuren
fuhrt zn Estern der aromatischen Säuren.
2 Teile Lithium-p-toluolsulfonat und 2,0 Teile Trifluormelhansulfonsäure
- 1.1 - dihydroperfluorbutylester werden in 8 Volumteilen Dimethylformamid
gelöst, und die Lösung wird auf 120 C erhitzt. Es findet eine heftige Umsetzung statt, wonach das Rcaktionsgemisch
noch eine weitere halbe Stunde auf Rückflußtemperatur erhitzt und sodann abgekühlt
und in kaltes Wasser gegossen wird. Die wäßrige Suspension wird mit Äther extrahiert und die organische
Schicht mit Salzlösung gewaschen, über wasserfreiem Magnesiumsulfat getrocknet und eingeengt.
Das zurückbleibende öl wird bei 65 bis 75* C und 1 mm Hg destilliert, wobei der p-Toluolsulfonsäure-1,
1-dihydroperfluorbutylester erhalten wird, der bisweilen
kristallisiert und dann bei 28 bis 29"C schmilzt. Ester anderer fluorierter Carbinole mit Arylsulfonsäuren
werden nach dem gleichen Verfahren unter
ίο Verwendung von Alkalisalzen der gewünschten substituierten
bzw. unsubstituierten Acrylsulfonsäure erhalten. Dies bietet eine bequeme Möglichkeit zur
Modifizierung von Farbstoffen, die Sulfonsäuregruppen enthalten, um diesen Farbstoffen zumindest eine
is geringe Löslichkeit in Fluorkohlenstofflösungsmitteln
zu erteilen.
Ein Gemisch aus 25 Teilen Trifluormelhansulfonsäure-U-dihydroperfluoroctylester
und 10 Teilen Kaliumthiocyanat in 80 Volumteilen Isopropanol wird 4 Stunden auf Rückflußtemperatur erhitzt. Nach dem
Abkühlen werden die Lösung und der Niederschlag in einen Überschuß Wasser gegossen: der organische
Niederschlag wird abgetrennt und unter vermindertem Druck bei 50"C getrocknet. Bei Umkristallisation
aus einem Gemisch von Äther und Petroläther
wird U-Dihydroperfiuoroctylthiocyanat vom Fp. 63
bis 66 C erhalten.

Dieses neuartige fluorierte Thiocyanat ist ein typisches Beispiel für eine Reihe von Verbindungen,
die erhalten werden, wenn andere Perfluoralkansulfonsäureester der Formel (RfSO7OCH2J1Q bei
dem obigen Verfahren eingesetzt werden. Diese Thiocyanate sind als Zwischenprodukte zur Umwandlung
in 1.1 - Dihydroperfluoralkylschwefelverbindungen brauchbar.
Dieses Beispiel erläutert die Herstellung von Dihydroperfluoralkylhydrazinen.
Ein Gemisch von 26.6 1 eilen influormethansulfonsäure-U-dihvdroperfiuorocty
ester. 5 Teilen 95%igem Hydrazin und 75 Votatab
sopropanol wird unter Rühren 3 Stunden aut Kuckflußtemperatur erhitzt, wonach das Reaktionsgemisch
in Wasser gegossen wird. Die Lösung wird mit Äther extrahiert. Der Ätherextrakt wird mit
Salzlösung gewaschen und getrocknet. Beim Sättigen aer ätherischen Lösung mit wasserfreiem Chlorwasserstoff
scheidet s,ch I.l-Dihydroperfluoroctylr^drazinhyurochlorid
ab, das bei etwa 231 bis 233 C schmilzt. α u f^aSe· U-Dihydroperflnoroctylhydrazin. wird
durch 10%,ge wäßrige Natronlauge freigesetzt. Das öl hat einen Kp. von 73 bis 75 C 5 mm Hg

Wenn das obige Verfahren unter Verwendung anhochfluorierter
Perfluoralkansulfonsäureester
derer
wiederholt wird, erhält man andere Hydrazine der Reihe Q(CH2NHNH2Jn,. Substituierte Hydrazine, wie
z. B. Phenylhydrazin u. dgl., sind bei dem obigen Verfahren ebenfalls einsetzbar und liefern Hydrazine
der Reihe Q(CH2NHNHR)n,, wobei R einen unsubstituierten
oder substituierten Alkyl-, Aryl- oder Aralkylrest bedeutet, wie durch folgende Tabelle VI
erläutert wird.

Diese Hydrazinverbindungen sind brauchbare chemische Zwischenprodukte.
10,64 g (0,02MoI) U-Dihydroperfluorheptyl-trifluormethansulfonat
werden jeweils mit 2,86 g (0,02 Mol) n-Nonylamin bzw. 5,39 g (0,02 Mol) Octadecylamin
in 10 ml Toluol auf 800C erhitzt und innerhalb von 30 Minuten werden langsam 2,02 g (0,02 Mol)
Triäthylamin zugegeben. Das Rühren und Erhitzen wird fortgesetzt, nach einer Stunde und erneut nach
6 Stunden, wenn die Umsetzung beendet ist, werden kleine Proben zur Durchführung der Analyse entnommen.
Die Proben werden zur Bestimmung des Umsetzungsgrades einer Gas-Flüssig-Chromatographie-Analyse
unterzogen. Nach 1 stündiger Reaktion erhält man eine 73 bzw. 72%ige Umsetzung.und nach
6stündiger Reaktion erhält man eine 88 bzw. 92%ige Umsetzung.
Die Reaktionsmischungen werden mit Methylchlorid verdünnt, mit Wasser und einer NaCl-Lösunj;
gewaschen und über MgSO4 getrocknet. Nach derr Eindampfen erhält man flüssiges Nonyl-1,1-dihydro
perfluorheptylamin bzw. festes Octadecyl-U-dihydro
perfluorheptylamin mit einem niedrigen Siedepunkt Die Infrarotabsorptionsspektren stimmen mit diesei
Strukturen überein.
Claims (5)
1. Verfahren zur Fluoralkylierung nukleophiler Verbindungen, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man einen nukleophilen Reaktionspartner mit einer Nukleopuilitätskonstanten oberhalb
von 1 mit einem Sulfonsäureester der allgemeinen Formel (RfSO2OCH2LQ, in der Rf einen
perfluorierten Alkylrest mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, Q einen hochfluorierten ASkylrest mit
der Valenz m, der mindestens 44 Gewichtsprozent
Fluor enthält, und m 1 oder 2 bedeutet, in praktisch stöchiometrischen Mengen in einem für die beiden
Umsetzungsteilnehmer verträglichen organischen Lösungsmittel umsetzt
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als nukleophilen Reaktionspartner eine Aryioxyverbindung verwendet
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man als nukleophilen Reaktionspartner ein Amin verwendet.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet daß man als nukleophilen Reaktionspartner ein Mercaptan verwendet.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als nukleophilen Reaktionspartner einen Diester der orthophosphorigen Säure
verwendet.
