Description

KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL

PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.

There are already storm clips for roof tiles, ie fastenings which are intended to prevent the tiles from being lifted off the battens in a storm. However, these brackets have the disadvantage that they have to be hammered into the laths or nailed down by means of special nails, which creates a strong vibration that causes the bricks to loosen from the mortar bedding. Other storm clips in which a nailing or wrapping is not necessary to require a special transformation of the brick, but at least for l the commonly used Bieberschwanz brick unusable. Finally, those storm clips that are fastened by screwing or by bending a sheet metal tab to the side take up too much time to fasten them and therefore increase the costs considerably or are only suitable for battens made of angle iron.

These inconveniences are to be avoided by the subject matter of the invention, which is only intended for the use of beaver tail bricks and does not require redesigning the same or driving nails into the battens.
In the drawing show:

Fig. 3 zeigt eine Oberansicht,
Fig. Ι the clip in the front view, Fig. 2 in the side view.
Fig. 3 shows a top view,
Fig. 4 is a section of a roof made using the bracket in question.

As the drawing reveals, the clamp is formed by a simple strip of galvanized iron or sheet iron, which is bent in such a way that it forms a flat web α, which lies against the lower side of the lath b , and that the ends of the strip to legs c are bent up at right angles to the web α and pass through the joints of the roof tiles. The extreme ends of the legs c are split and bent into two brackets d , which lie on the top of the bricks.

It is not necessary that a storm clip be inserted into every joint, but it is sufficient to attach about ten brackets within each square meter, as one brick holds the other in place.

It is also irrelevant whether the bracket, as the embodiment shows, from a straight strip is bent or consists of several parts, or by punching out is made of U-shaped pieces of sheet metal.
