Process for the production of explosives with very high security
against mine gas and coal dust explosions, with increased explosive power, as well as after
explosives produced using the process. Explosives with very high security
against firedamp and coal dust, as they are currently in German class III or
As is well known, they have to be classified as equivalent to the Belgian type IV
chemical composition; mkt
called "exchanged ions"
and consist of: a) nitroglycerin, nitroglycol or a mixture of these two
liquid, very sensitive components (explosive oil) in a moderate ratio,
which does not exceed 10% by weight: b) moisture-repellent additives in one
Amount of 1 to 3% that are intended to protect the explosive substance from the effects
to protect from moisture, so that the caking of the mass and hardening
of the cartridges and, in general, all changes in the structure that are detrimental to the jetonatioa
be avoided; c) in addition from two mineral salts, one of which is oxidizing
(Sodium nitrate or potassium nitrate) and the other is flammable (ammonium chloride),
and both of which are reactive with each other.
A i 1-
chemisch gebundenem Sauerstoff enthalten. The explosives to the e :; What I am dealing with here, and which are currently used on an industrial scale in the German, Belgian and Dutch mines, are also characterized by the fact that the two minerals are present in an equivalent molecular ratio, A i 1-
that is to say that there is a very high level of security in the case of explosives
Use - which, by the way, differ from one another only in the different proportions of explosive oil and moisture-repellent additive - that with these explosives 1 mole of the alcaline nitrate always corresponds to at least approximately one mole of ammonium chloride. This has the consequence that the oxygen balance of the composition is fixed at a positive value, which is in the order of 8 to 9%, that is, in the event of decomposition by complete combustion, the explosive gases free an amount of 8 to 9 of the weight of the explosive , do not contain chemically bound oxygen.
It is also known that the oxygen equilibrium is in principle
can be lowered, even if only the two complementary mineral salts are still used
can be used by deviating from the equimonecular ratio
and one mole of the alkali nitrate in the mixture contains more than one mole of ammonium chloride
assigns. This solution has the advantage that the explosive force of the explosive
is increased so that it releases more gas and more heat per unit weight
than is the case with the corresponding mixture with an equimonecular ratio between
the two complementary mineral salts
would be the case. The solution
has the disadvantage, however, that explosion gases are generated which are free. Hydrogen chloride gas
contained, namely, these oases are developed in an amount that dent excess
of ammonium chloride is proportional: Even without an excess of ammonium chloride
using, it is easily possible to lower the oxygen balance. by doing
a non-chlorine-containing, flammable component is added to the composition as a new component
Introduces substance (wood flour, starch, urea, castor oil, glycol, mannitol, or the like.).
However, a very high level of security against firedamp does not go well with the
Addition of such an organic combustible substance. Such a compound
Explosive substance, even if it is only a very small proportion of the additional
Component does not meet the test provisions against firedamp
the German class III or the Belgian type IV.
The present invention is based on the knowledge that the oxygen equilibrium is achieved
of an explosive can reduce the explosive weight to well below 8 or 9%,
without having an excess of the ammonium chloride
the alcaline nitrate
must use - so that no harmful explosion vapors are obtained -
and that in this way explosives can also be obtained with a very high degree of safety
can, which both in terms of firedamp safety and in terms of
Coal dust safety the test regulations of the German class III or the Belgian
Type IV suffices and also with regard to the explosive power of the previously known explosives
are superior. This is achieved according to the invention in that one of the two complementary
Mineral salts as non-chlorinated, combustible components a lot of
adds up to 15% of ammonium oxalate.
genommen. In the following exemplary embodiments, the possibilities of
new explosives compared with those of the old explosives. The values of the explosive power
were obtained: a) theoretically by calculating the specific volume
v o the explosion flue gases (under normal conditions 00C and 76o mmHg) and the explosion heat
Qv at constant volume, based on one kilogram of the explosive; b) in the laboratory
by the classic lead block test according to the Trauzl method with a constant
Weight
(1o g), with the result being the net expansion in cm3
is specified; c) in practice through cavity blasting (tir de pochage) in plastic
Sound, which measures the net volume of the cavity caused by the detonation of a
Cartridge of 10 g is produced, which at the bottom of a cylindrical, one meter deep
Hole was arranged, which by means of an auger vertically in the tough
The ground was drilled and completely filled with water before the ignition (damming,
