Description
The present invention relates to a method for the gradual partial or total hydrolysis of celluloses of vegetable raw materials using dilute mineral acids, one or more short-term hydrolysis reactions being triggered at 100 ° to 240 0 C and the mineral acid being changed after each hydrolysis reaction, the raw material and the dilute mineral acid is conveyed through the reaction zone in the same direction and the hydrolysis reaction is at most several minutes.
The main disadvantage of this dilute acid process is that, on the one hand, the yield is unsatisfactory and, on the other hand, there is a need for post-hydrolysis because a direct conversion into Monosaccharide is not possible. From an operational point of view, there is still the disadvantage that the impregnation of the Raw material must be made with an excess of acid and if possible with stirring, which in turn the inconvenient need to remove the excess acid. For this reason, however, must the mixture and its mechanical properties can be changed between impregnation and reaction. While it is present as a pulpy liquid after soaking, it ends up in to carry out the reaction the consistency of a bed in the reactor, so that one different conveyors in the different Must use stages.
The invention has set itself the task of creating a dilute acid process which leads to higher Yields and makes post-hydrolysis no longer necessary. Another object of the invention lies in the simplification of the process engineering of the dilute acid processes and the ones required for this Devices.
The invention achieves the above objects by the fact that the raw material is up to the size of a grain of dust crushed, then with dilute acid to a pumpable, not demmixable by sedimentation Mixture mixed and this mixture passed continuously through the hydrolysis reaction zone.
The invention makes it possible to increase the yield, surprisingly with a direct conversion takes place in monosaccharides. Advantageously, the method according to the invention also allows a substantial reduction in the hydrolysis reaction time over the dilute acid process of type mentioned at the beginning and the extensive reduction of by-products. In device-like Regard, there is the advantage of simplifying the plants for the hydrolysis and the possibility of Reduction in the number of hydrolysis stages.
It is already known to use cellulosic pulps which are comminuted in hydrolysis processes of a different type Use plant substances whose mean grain size does not exceed 1 mm in diameter in these known Processes are not dilute acid processes, but processes in which Medium-strength acids are used in a first stage and highly concentrated acids in the second stage. The process of saccharification of wood in such a process is completely different from that according to the invention Procedure. The method according to the invention therefore differs according to the type and task fundamentally from this prior art, which does not provide any suggestion for the solution of the invention Could give tasks.
The invention is illustrated by way of example with the aid of the figures.
F i g. 1 ist eine Schemaskizze einer Anlage zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens mit drei Hydrolysestufen;F i g. 1 is a schematic diagram of a plant for carrying out the method according to the invention three hydrolysis stages;
F i g. 2 veranschaulicht eine einzelne Hydrolysestufe; Fig.3 veranschaulicht eine Anlage, in der mehrere Hydrolysevorgänge zeitlich nacheinander in einer Hydroiyseanlage durchgeführt werden können.F i g. Figure 2 illustrates a single hydrolysis stage; Fig.3 illustrates a system in which several Hydrolysis processes can be carried out one after the other in a hydrolysis system.
In a first process stage, which is shown in FIG. 1 with the Reference number 1 is illustrated, the raw material is comminuted to the size of grains.
In a second process stage, which is shown in FIG. 1 with the reference numerals 2 (mixing system) and 3 (intermediate storage container), the crushed raw material is mixed with cold or moderately warm diluted mineral acid without pressure in such a way that a sludge that is just pumpable and does not separate due to sedimentation is set, which is then temporarily stored. In the fourth process stage indicated by the reference number 4, which is referred to as the first hydrolysis stage (strand I), the sludge is subjected to a first hydrolysis reaction. Such a hydrolysis stage is shown in FIG. 2 illustrates in detail. The slack is detected by the pump a and brought to a pressure set by the control element e, which is above the saturated steam pressure which is linked to the temperature level in the system bd. The slurry is then continuously conveyed through the heat exchanger b by the pump and brought to the desired reaction temperature in this. Then the slack runs through the thermally insulated reaction strand c at a constant temperature. In this, a portion of the celluloses present is broken down into monosaccharides under the action of the diluted mineral acid. These monosaccharides are extracted from the remaining cell lignin by diffusion into the thin acid. Some of the monosaccharides break down into various decomposition products. The residence time in reaction strand c is therefore adjusted so that the decomposition of the monosaccharides does not proceed too far. Then the sludge runs through the cooler c / and is in this up to about room temperature
The warmth between cooling and Heating medium is largely replaced. In the regulating element e, the mud is then at normal pressure relaxed and washing in the separator Gunter
Die gewonnene Zuk- !cerlösung wird abgeführtseparated with water into the remaining cell lignin and the acidic sugar solution. The future ! cer solution is discharged
After the separation has taken place, the remaining solid cell lignin is fed to a part of the plant, in which in turn, the system parts 5, 6 and 7 correspond to the system parts 2, 3 and 4, respectively. To the second hydrolysis stage, which corresponds to strand II, a third and further hydrolysis stage can then be added. Corresponding to reference number 10 and strand 111 Hyarolysis stage can again have the upstream system parts 8 and 9, which in their function the Plant parts 2 and 3 correspond. In the second and third hydrolysis stage, there are now different Cellulose content of the original raw material is recorded, is so that in the individual successive hydrolysis stages first the lighter ones and then each the more difficult to hydrolyze constituents are reacted one after the other. It goes without saying that to the in F i g. 1, three hydrolysis stages are followed by further hydrolysis stages can, if this is necessary or desirable under the given working and raw material conditions appears.
On the other hand, the method according to the invention. Of course, they can also take place in a single hydrolysis reaction, if it just comes down to it, dio easily to implement hydrolyzable celluloses of a raw material.
Fig. 3 illustrates a method in which a multiple hydrolysis is carried out in a single strand. Here the raw material is in a first process stage, which is illustrated by the reference number 1, comminuted, then in a second Process stage 2 mixed with dilute acid and collected in the intermediate storage stage 3a by v \ o from the Gatsch enters the hydrolysis stage represented by reference number 4.
The resulting cell lignin is in turn mixed with thin acid in the plant part 2, then temporarily stored in the plant part 3i. As soon as the intermediate container 3a is emptied, it is switched to the container ~ ib and the sludge in this container is subjected to the second hydrolysis in the hydrolysis system 4, whereby the sugar solution is again discharged and the cell lignin that has again accumulated is then transferred to container 3a - after adding fresh acid in the Plant part 2 - is supplied. The process described can be repeated as often as desired using the containers 3a and 36 alternately as flow and return containers. The possibility remains to set the operating conditions in the individual hydrolysis processes to be the same or different.
