Description
Circuit arrangement for protecting a Gleiohspannungskonstanthalteinriohtung with a periodically switched series transistor against overload for stabilization of a DC output voltage is a DC voltage constant holding device known with a switching transistor which is switched periodically, the pulse-pause ratio of the regulator controlling the periodic switching depends on the output voltage. The aim of the invention is to provide such a constant tension device protect against overload.
There are already current limiting circuits known in which a the load current proportional voltage drop across a resistor as a criterion for Triggering of the limiting circuit is used. To the here occurring Keeping losses small is only a low-ohm measurement resistance airinvol1; therefore an expensive one must be used to evaluate the voltage drop across the low resistance Gleiohspannungsträger be provided.
The aim of the invention is to implement the current limitation with less effort. This is achieved by the invention in that a controllable resistor of the base-emitter path of the series transistor lies in parallel in a circuit arrangement to protect a DC constant-hold device with a periodically switched longitudinal transistor against overload, the resistance of which increases as the emitter-collector voltage of the series transistor increases whose blocking is lowered. The emitter-collector path of a transistor transistor whose base is connected to the collector of the series transistor can be used with particular advantage as a controllable resistor. As soon as the voltage drop on the enitter-collector path of the series transistor increases, the base of the additional transistor receives control voltage, so that the imitter-collector path becomes lower and lower and the base-emitter diode of the series transistor shorts.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. 1 shows the circuit arrangement of a DC voltage constant holding device; Fig. 2 voltage and current curve at different points in the circuit.
Zur Glättung der gleichgerichteten Spannung dient ein Kondensator C3.The primary winding of a transformer Tr is connected to a voltage source connected, which supplies rectangular alternating voltage as shown in FIG. The secondary winding of transformer Tr is tapped in the middle. By means of capacitors C1 and C2, Diodes D1 to D4 and resistors R1 and R2 are rectified in one known mid-point circuit. Serves to smooth the rectified voltage a capacitor C3.
In one longitudinal branch of the circuit there is a periodically switched transistor T1.Yor of the load L connected to the output there is also an energy store or filter element which is formed from inductance L1, capacitor C5 and diode D5. A regulator RE is connected to the terminal A connected to the base of the series transistor T1 and periodically supplies the base with pulses by which the series transistor is turned on and off. The controller is connected to the output terminals and the pulse-pause ratio of the controller depends on the output voltage, so that the output voltage remains constant within permissible limits despite a change in the load or a change in the input voltage. The controller is synchronized with pulses from the input voltage UE; the overdriving of the series transistor T1 begins with each zero crossing of the input voltage U E. Additional transistors T2 and T3 are present to limit the current. The fmitter-collector path of the transistor T3 is parallel to the base-emitter path of the series transistor T1. Its base is connected to the collector of series transistor T1 via a resistor R5. Usually, the emitter-collector path of transistor T3 with the periodic switching of series transistor is blocked. If, however, the output current I #, # and thus the current IC exceeds the permissible value, the collector-emitter voltage of the series transistor T1 increases, so that the transistor T3 is controlled via the resistor R5. The current periodically offered by the controller RE via terminal A then flows via the. Enitter-collector path of transistor T3 to output B. As a result, the base current iB of series transistor T1 decreases and this leads to a further increase in the collector-emitter voltage of series transistor T1, so that transistor T3 is safely overdriven via resistor R5. The base diode of series transistor T1 remains almost short-circuited via the collector-emitter path of transistor T3. This process runs periodically. The base of a further transistor T2 is connected to the diodes D2 and D3 of the rectifier via a resistor R3, the emitter-collector path of which connects the base of the transistor T3 with the emitter of the series transistor T1: After each zero crossing of the singing voltage UE # the transistor T2 is briefly overdriven via capacitor C1 and diode D2 or capacitor C2 and diode D3 as well as via resistor R3 and thus transistor T3 is safely blocked. The opening of the series transistor T1 via the regulator RE and the terminal A is thus not hindered by the transistor T3. However, if the current IA flowing through its emitter-collector path after overdriving the transistors T1 exceeds the permissible value, then the described blocking process starts again immediately. Because of the strong feedback, the turn-off process for the Eängstransistor T1 is ended after a short time, so that the switching losses are low. The starting point of the current limiting circuit can be changed by means of a variable resistor R6, which is parallel to the emitter-collector path of the transistor T2. A resistor R4 and a capacitor C4, which prevent the circuit from responding to interference pulses, are connected between the base of the transistor T2 and the knitter of the series transistor T1.
The course of the collector current IC in normal operation and with Overload is shown in FIG.
