Description
The invention relates to a method of manufacture of fleece artificial leather by impregnating and, if necessary, covering a three-dimensional, random non-woven fiber layer with a solution of a polymer with rubber-like elasticity and Precipitation of the polymer in the wet process or by drying.
A method for the production of synthetic fleece leather is already known, according to the one to achieve it a non-pressed fiber layer is impregnated with a solution of a polymer at a high density, after which the layer is pressed halfway through precipitation of the solution. However, it is difficult to find the Precise determination and control of the state of the half-precipitation, so that this method is not fully satisfactory is.
According to the invention, a pressing step after half precipitation is not necessary, so that for the relevant Industry is given a significant advantage.
From the German Auslegeschrift 1,004,136 the production of non-woven synthetic leather is known, with a Binder-containing nonwoven fabric is pressed from insoluble and soluble fibers and then the soluble Fibers can be loosened with a suitable liquid. Even with the remaining structural fibers are held by the binder, the amount of loosened fibers is very large, so that the density of the nonwoven fabric is reduced and the strength is lowered.
Furthermore, it is known from the Belgian patent specification 655,812, for the production of artificial leather To impregnate and cover fiber fleece made of mixed spun fibers with polymers and then to dissolve out a component of the mixed-spun fibers and a portion of the applied polymers. However, the amount of polymer dissolved away from the surfaces of the fibers is quite small, so that the fibers with respect to the impregnated polymer are not freely displaceable, which reduces the flexibility of the fleece is impaired.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a method according to which non-woven synthetic leather with high Dense and nevertheless excellent flexibility can be produced.
Diese Aufgabe wird gelöst, indem bei dem Verfahren der eingangs genannten Art erfindungsgemäß so vorgegangen wird, daß die ungewebte Faserschicht zunächst mit einem Bindemittel, das in einem gegenüber den Fasern und dem gummiartigen Polymerisat inerten Lösungsmittel löslich ist, imprägniert und dasThis object is achieved in that, according to the invention, in the method of the type mentioned at the beginning The procedure is that the non-woven fiber layer is first coated with a binder that is in one opposite the fibers and the rubber-like polymer is soluble in inert solvent, impregnated and that
π Bindemittel unter Pressen der imprägnierten Faserschicht fixiert wird, die Faserschicht dann mit der Lösung eines gummielastischen Polymerisates imprägniert und gegebenenfalls überzogen und das gummielastische Polymere ausgefällt und schließlich das zunächst eingebrachte Bindemittel mit einem die Fasern und das gummielastische Polymerisat nicht lösenden Lösungsmittel extrahiert und entfernt wird.π binder is fixed by pressing the impregnated fiber layer, the fiber layer then with the solution a rubber-elastic polymer impregnated and optionally coated and the rubber-elastic Polymers precipitated and finally the initially introduced binder with one of the fibers and the rubber-elastic polymer is extracted and removed from the non-solvent solvent.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the surface of the non-woven fiber layer after fixing the binding agent still diminished.
In the method of the invention, the fibers are therefore masked with the soluble binder, after which the rubber-elastic polymer is impregnated and finally the soluble one, the fibers enveloping binder is extracted and removed. Such a treatment achieves that the fibers and the impregnated rubber-elastic polymer are present separately next to one another, so that the Fibers remain freely movable. The consequence of this is a considerably improved flexibility of the obtained Fleece artificial leather, which also has a high density.
According to the method of the invention it is by using the nonwoven, previously by pressing with the binder fixed layer possible, the extent to which the solution of the rubber-elastic polymer the fiber layer is impregnated, adjusted to a desired value and thus changes in shape in the direction of length, width and thickness during impregnation and precipitation as well as changes in shape to prevent the fibers themselves, so that no pimple formation occurs. If additionally with When the impregnation solution is coated, a thin and smooth coating layer can be formed.
When a solution of a rubber elastic polymer with a high concentration for impregnation the fiber layer is used and then precipitated, the laminate obtained has a dense Structure so that even if the initially introduced binder to break the adhesion has been extracted and removed between the fibers, a layer with a hard structure is still obtained will. However, if various emollients are added to the solution of the polymer, the make the rubber-elastic polymer porous and pliable if this polymer is in the wet process is failed, a. Laminate with a natural leather-like structure can be obtained by impregnating with the highly concentrated solution, it is dense, but not hard, but flexible and elastic is. Of course, it is possible, depending on the intended use of the layer
B. 0,2 bis 0,3 mm dicke) und glatte Überzugsschicht ausgebildet werden.substances by suitable selection of conditions, for example the types of fibers of the fiber layer, the rubber-elastic polymer or the binder, the ratio of the fibers of the fiber layer to the initially introduced binder, the concentration of the rubber-elastic polymer, the amount of emollient added, the Density of the layer applied to the surface, the precipitation conditions, etc., laminates with different Maintain structures and flexibilities. Since the fibers in the method according to the invention can also be fixed, a laminate with only a few knobs and an extremely smooth surface receive. Therefore, such laminates are extremely suitable when placed on their surface a coating layer is to be applied. However, if the pressed and fixed nonwoven fiber layer surface finishing, such as trim, can reduce the smoothness can be further improved, and it can be a very thin (e.g. 0.2 to 0.3 mm thick) and smooth coating layer be formed.
According to the invention, as fibers for the three-dimensional nonwoven fiber layer (substance A) those made from synthetic polymers such as polyamide, polyester, polyacrylonitrile or polyvinyl chloride, those obtained by mixed spinning of the polymers mentioned, graft fibers, natural fibers or mixtures thereof can be used.
As polymers with rubber-like elasticity (substance B), for example, elastomeric polyurethane, N-methoxymethyl polyamide, acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer, Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, various synthetic rubbers or natural rubbers be used.
Any binders, which are suitable for gluing and fixing the substance A, can be used, such as, for example Polyvinyl alcohol, its derivatives, water-soluble starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, partially saponified Acrylates, polyacrylamide, cellulose acetate, polyvinyl acetate or polyvinyl chloride. However, you have to a solvent (for example water) be extractable and removable, which the substances A and B does not dissolve after substance A has been impregnated with substance B and the latter has been precipitated. In the method according to the invention, an amount of substance sufficient to achieve the fixation is used C is used, which is removed by extraction after the substance has precipitated. Also in this Point differs from the method according to the invention from the previously known methods of production a conventional nonwoven fabric that uses a small amount of binder so as not to impair the structure of the textile.
Prozente Gewichtsteile bzw. Gewichtsprozente bedeuten. The method according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to examples in which Parts or percentages mean parts by weight or percentages by weight.
Stretched and crimped nylon staple fibers (5.0 cm) having a linear density of 1.0 denier were made into a random sheet, which was needle-punched into a nonwoven fiber mat of 160 g / m 2 . This mat was immersed in a 45 percent aqueous polyvinyl alcohol solution. After expressing to a solution content of 150 to 180% by pressing, the mat was dried with hot air of 65 ° C to a solution content of 50 to 80%. Then, it was gradually dried in a cylindrical dryer with a temperature rise of 70 to 120 ° C for fixation, reducing the thickness of the mat from 2.5 to 2.7 mm to 1.2 to 1.4 mm. The surface of the mat was then trimmed down to a thickness of 1.1 mm. This mat was with a 14 percent solution of elastomeric polyurethane with a molecular weight of 2000, which consisted of polyethylene propylene adipate glycol, ρ, ρ'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate and ethylene glycol (molar ratio 1: 6; 5), in dimethylformamide, the 6% sorbitan monostearate and 3 % Stearyl alcohol, based in each case on the weight of the elastomer, contained, impregnated, namely the amount of impregnating solution was seven times the weight of the mat. The surface of the mat was squeezed out to remove excess solution. A coating solution, which was a 12 percent solution of said elastomeric polyurethane in dimethylformamide, was then applied to the surface of the mat in such an amount that 40 g of elastomeric polyurethane per m 2 (amount of solvent : 335 ^ m 2 ) were applied. The impregnating and coating solution was then precipitated for 20 minutes with a 30 percent aqueous dimethylformamide solution set at 40 ° C. and the mat was washed with hot water at 50 to 60 ° C. to remove the solvent. Then, after removing the polyvinyl alcohol, washing was repeated six times and pressing in hot water of 80 ° C. for one hour, the mat was dried with hot air of 80 ° C. After drying, the layer had a weight of 290 g / m 2 and a thickness of 1.1 mm The sheet was then dyed and treated with a softening agent (lubricant) and then embossed and sprayed to form a leather-like nonwoven fabric the properties given in the following table was obtained.

A layer of polyacrylonitrile fibers with a titer of 2 denier and 60 cm in length was processed by needling into a nonwoven fiber layer with a density of 0.09 and 300 g / m 2 and a three-dimensional structure. The nonwoven fabric was immersed in a 10% methanolic polyvinyl acetate solution and then expressed to such an extent that the amount of the impregnating resin was 20% based on the weight of the nonwoven layer. The methanol was then evaporated. The nonwoven fiber layer was hot pressed to reduce the thickness and increase the density to 0.25 mm. As a result of the treatment with the binder, the fiber density of the nonwoven fiber layer was increased by about 2.2 times. The pressed and fixed nonwoven fiber layer was dipped in a synthetic rubber latex containing acrylonitrile-butadiene and expressed to such an extent that the amount of the impregnating latex was three times based on the weight of the nonwoven fiber layer. Then it was dried. The polyvinyl acetate used to fix the nonwoven fiber layer was extracted with methanol and removed, after which the layer was washed with water and dried with hot air of 70 ° C. The fleece obtained was flexible and strong. As a leather-like nonwoven fabric, it was particularly suitable as a furniture cover fabric and for interior decoration after a suitable film or cover had been applied to its surface or a polymer solution had been sprayed on.
